I have not seen the movie. But I am only speaking about the misogyny with the audience.
I do disagree with Swara's polical views. But whenever she airs a political (leftist) opinion, she is countered by some people (I presume men) with remarks such as ungli (pointing at that scene). Can these people swear they have never done it in real? Then why are they trolling Swara who only played a character?
How many people will keep trolling Shahid for the icing scene? Forget it, there are senior actors who have acted in rape scenes. They also air their political opinions (like Anupam Khmer). But none of them get trolled as much as Swara for a scene.
Liked some of the things said there. I was surprised and appalled when AR was heralded instead of bashing.
What is so special about even woman loving a misogynist movie. After all, IPKKND had the highest followers here in IF. Essays were written to defend an MCP character. But many here have enjoyed. May be we all should say like Kangana. - "We are collectively guilty and we all should apologise". đ

Am just amused by how everything Kabir does is being defended and blamed on the women instead. He threatened the woman for sex with a knife? Its the cheating woman's fault for having casual sex with a druggie. He misused his seniority and laid claims on a woman like some animal? Arre why didn't the girl say anything. Not like he was a big freakin' bully or something. Nope. He was committing public indecency in the dick icing thing? Well what about a woman masturbating in her own bedroom. You can see the pattern there so clearly.
This is so scary. I would like to believe that since she has already stated her stance she's finding it hard to retract in public. And I hope I'm not wrong.
I watch the movie and although I appreciate Shahid acting, I don't want to think people are normalizing this toxic masculinity.
Movies like rdb might have less impact because it wants to make a change in the existing order of the society. However, ks is a reinforcement of this misogynistic mindset. So, obviously easier to emulate!
In simple words, Forcing someone with knife is considered as rape & harassment. Literally, 10 page of discussion over this simple concept. If he is going against your wish or being too forceful towards you, you have all rights to claim it as any kind of harassment. I am not lawyer, not a big educated guy. Just speaking something which is based upon my experience & real life incidences so feel free to disagree. I am not pointing knife at you.
Kabir was NEVER shown as a positive or good character. The film never told people to be like him. The guy lost his love, was thrown out of his house and lost his job. He went on a downward spiral BECAUSE HE WAS WRONG. His behavior was never justified, encouraged or labelled as right. Even his friend, brother and people close to him constantly told him not to do these things.
Why would anyone watch this film and want to do what he does? if anyone does that then that's just dumb. People who have such concerns should stop watching movies and TV shows then.
Did the amount of drug addicts increase after Sanju? Did the amount of school fights increase after SOTY-2? Did the amount of murders increase after Badla?
Stop blaming films for people who cant use their own brain. If people never did these things it wouldn't be shown in movies. Where do you think these ideas come from?
Damnn some people in this thread, smh đ¤Śđťââď¸
Itâs insane how screwed some peopleâs views of consent is. Canât believe people are having to explain what consent is. I would presume well bunch of educated adults would know this. Guess not.
Only YES means YES. If a woman is apprehensive, itâs not consent...if a woman is scared, itâs not consent.... If a woman is quiet, itâs not consent. Not just No means No, but also only YES means YES needs to be understood.
If a woman invites a man for casual sex, but upon him arriving, she decides she doesnât want to have sex with him and the man tries to force himself, that is considered sexual assault. You cannot blame a woman for the man wanting to force himself upon her, however terrible the person might be (in this case her cheating on her boyfriend). No one is saying what she is trying to do is right. In a moral sense, her cheating on her boyfriend is morally wrong, but Kabir Singh showing a knife and demanding her to take off her clothes, is sexual assault, and is a criminal offense punishable by law. Do not equate her cheating on her bf as the same thing as KS sexually assaulting her. It is NOT the same thing.
And in a country like India where movies are a way of life, to say âItâs just a movieâ is just not a plausible argument. Yes, people do get influenced by movies. You are glorifying this character as a macho, cool man, and that is exactly whatâs wrong with the movie. Boys and Man idolizing to be like KS is exactly whatâs wrong with this movie.

âYou cannot say that the producerâs commitment shall not be honoured. Saying âI donât feel like working todayâ is not acceptable professionally....
To me, Shilpa and Raj are the most corrupted people that spam people for money. Then, Bipasha, Neha and Ekta are involved with them. Any other...
