The only problem in this layout is that I end up quoting my post instead of editing.

How do you check your warning level? I am supposed to have post limit earned from Big Boss form 2 years back. I was pretty non-active & now I can't see if it got carried over to the new layout and there's nothing interesting to post 20 a day to check whether or not I really have the limit.
