i have watched other few musicals and i find all of them bakwas. so will never put myself to torture again!

Bollywood movies are not musicals.

They have song and dance in it but musicals are performances, The story and emotional content of a musical – humor, pathos, love, anger – are communicated through the words, music, movement and technical aspects of the entertainment as an integrated whole.

I used to hate BW until recently when I started watching some films from 2016 onwards on my friends' recommendations. I was pleasantly surprised.

Movies like Hindi Medium, Tumbbad, Raazi, Gully Boy, Udta Punjab, Andhadhun, Stree, etc. have made like BW. I'm actually looking forward to seeing a lot of upcoming films now!

But I am not talking about TV shows am I? 😅😅 American T.V. shows are still miles ahead.

@Bold Uh that's not what the general consensus is even lots of Americans also think Hollywood has become crap and they think BW is currently better.

I have always been a diehard HW fan but one thing I've always believed is that BW has always had far better actors than HW. The kind of talent people like Aamir, Shahrukh, Ranveer, Vicky, Rajkumar, Irrfan, Pankaj, Nawazuddin etc. have is just so impressive and unmatchable.

BW in the last seven years have made a lot of great movies. In fact, it's in its best phase right now with movies like Stree, Andhadhun, Badhai Ho, Wasseypur, Hindi Medium, Laxmi, Talvar, Kahaani, Lunchbox, Padman< Naam Shabana etc.

Bollywood right now is at its best phase compared to the 80s, 90s and early 2000s. What are you talking about?

And the movies you mentioned are just one offs. Stree is a modern day good film? Lol BW is sooo bad that one movie with a somewhat engaging plot is hailed as some masterpiece. I slept through padman. The rest are strictly one time watch barring kaahani which released in 2012 I believe. Kaahani is stellar and I won't disregard that.

If you can only pick a handful of films from the last 10 years to show how BW is progressing, it sorta defeats the purpose.

I can pick 10 films from 90s and early 2000s to show that it was better. But that was not the point. It is lagging far behind in quality compared to HW.

Ohh yeah I forgot about that new Fast and Furious sequel 😂😂 My bad.... 😂

BW movies have better emotions. better dancing. good music. and I am seriously saying that.

In no way. HW is miles ahead of BW. Forget comparing these two, Indian regional cinema is far ahead is terms of good and original content than BW. HW has mega superhero movies and good, bold and life changing cinema running parallel to each other. Their Indies have a class of their own. But you know whats better than HW? European cinema. Esp French and Polish movie industries. Most of the time most HW indies take inspiration from these two. Korean,Japanese,Chinese inspirations can be found in their fantasy movies. Anyway, to sum it up Bollywood is really nothing compared to HW. Zero.
