Roshni stared at her. Taking advantage of her momentary loss of control, a man behind,hit Riya’s head.
Riya fell to the ground: AAHH!!
The men tried to catch hold of her. It took her a moment to recover from the concussion and hit back. She kicked and tried to punch but her hands were pinned behind. A rope tied itself around them limiting her movement.
Riya struggled: Chodo Mujhe!!!
Roshni stepped forward: kaun ho tum? Tum mujhe kaise jaanti ho? (stressing her mind)kahi dekha hai maine tumhe…tum…tum toh Rahul ki shaadi mein thi! (firmly) Kaun Ho Tum?!?! Yaha Kaisi Pahunchi?!!?
Riya glared at her: Riya Mukherjee, ETF!
Roshni’s eyes widened in surprise: Rafiq check karo kaun hai iske saath!!

Shivangi ko is duniya mein laane ke mera sirf ek maksad tha, use un logon se cheen kar unhe usi dard ka ehsaas dilana!!
Riya(low voice): aur jab Arjun sir ne tumhare gang ko apna nishaana banaya toh tumhara woh kaam bhi aasan ho gaya
Roshni smiled: Arjun ko toh shak ho gaya tha mujh par afsos, koi us bichare ki sunta hi nahi, jab usne mujh par ungli uthayi toh woh bhi Suryakant aur Shweta se alag ho gaya…
Flashback
It had only been three days since the accident. The Rawte family was drowning in their own tears. Arjun was sitting at his desk staring at the case file unable to fathom that he had lost his daughter forever. He was feeling numb ever sincehe had lit her pyre. His trance was broken by Roshni noisily entering the room and falling on the bed. She didn’t have an ounce of sorrow on her face. Her careless attitude fuelled Arjun.
He balled his fists and forced himself to look away. That’s when his brain finally registered the words he had been seeing since hours. The stroller was going towards the right. The right wheel had crushed it. That meant Roshni was towards the centre not outside the boundaries of the truck. If she had been,then the left wheel should have been stained. He turned to Roshni in horror who was busy on her phone.
She didn’t have a single wound on her body. Not even a scrape. But how could that be unless…. unless she never was a part of the accident. But then where was she? If she was the only one with Shivangi and the truck’s brakes had failed and it was in full speed and she didn’t get hurt it meant…it meant she had runaway! She saved herself and let Shivangi die! Fury ran through his veins. He banged the file on the table and marched to her.
Arjun: ROSHNI!!
Roshni looked up: itna chilla kyun rahe ho?
Arjun’s anger knew no bounds. He couldn’t believe she still had the audacity to behave in such a manner. He grabbed her hand and pulled her out of bed.
Roshni: Arjun!! Kya Kar Rahe Ho?? Leave Me!
Arjun only tightened his grip: Tumne Maara Haina Shivangi Ko?
Roshni: Kya Bol Rahe Ho Tum? Paagal Ho Gaye Ho?
Arjun: JHOOT MAT BOLO!!! Agar Right Wheel Par Hone Ki Wajah Se Uski Maut Hui Toh Tum Kaise Bach Gayi? (gripping her shoulders) Tum Bina Ek Kharoch Ke Kaise Bachi?!?! JAWAB DO!! Tumhi Ne Maara Hai Meri Shivi Ko!!!
Roshni shed tears: kya bol rahe ho Arjun, woh meri bhi beti thi? Main kaise use…
Arjun is taken aback at the sudden change and the next second he realizes why as Shweta’s voice falls on his ears.
Shweta(pained): Arjun!
She had come to investigate on hearing the yelling going on.
Arjun let go of Roshni: Maa! (he held her hand and brought her into the room) maa dekho, Roshni ki wajah se…Shivangi ki jaan chali gayi! Aur….aur ye abhi bhi naatak kar rahi hai, (his eyes turned moist) abhi bhi qubool nahi kar rahi hai,aap hi bataiye…aisa kaise ho sakta hai ki truck se accident ho aur ise….
Tears rolled down Shweta’s eyes seeing on seeing his plight. Roshni was crying bitterly by now. Shweta cupped his face.
Shweta(cracked): Arjun…Arjun please shaant ho jao
Arjun: Nahi Maa, Ye Jhoot Bol Rahi Hai, Khooni Hai Ye!!
Shweta: Arjun kya bol rahe ho tum? Roshni uski maa hai, koi maa apne bache ke saath aisa kaise kar sakti hai?
Arjun stepped behind in shock removing her hold from him: maa aap bhi? Aapko Meri Baaton Par Vishwas Nahi Hai?
Shweta: mujhe tum par vishwas hai Arjun lekin tum jo keh rahe ho woh…
Arjun: Wahi Sach Hai!!! Roshni Ne Khoon Kiya Hai Shivi Ka!!!
Tears rolled down her eyes: Arjun kya ho gaya hai tumhe? Kabhi tum kehte ho ki Sikandar ne Shivangi ki jaan li hai kabhi keh rahe ho ko Roshni ne uski jaan lihai…
Arjun: Sikandar Ne Hi Jaan Li Hai Meri Beti Ki!!
Shweta: Arjun ye sach nahi hai, tum…
His lips quivered as he spoke: Yahi Sach Hai! Aap Maane Ya Na Maane! Mujhe laga tha kam se kam aap mujhe samjhengi lekin main galat tha….GALAT THA MAIN!!!
He ran out of the room unable to take lack of faith from her.
Shweta tried to stop him: Arjun meri…
But he was long gone. She hung her head in defeat and silently left the room. Roshni heaved a sigh of relief and followed Arjun.
Arjun had gone out into the garden, kneeling near the flowers which she used to love.Every inch of the place reminded him of her, making him feel worse rather than better. A comforting hand touched his shoulder. Startled, he turned to look at Suryakant. He opened his mouth to tell him to go away but his words died at his lips. Suryakant sat beside him.
Suryakant: hum sab use bahot miss karte hai Arjun (he looked longingly at the flowers) use gulaab sabse zyaada pasand aate the
Arjun smiled slightly: jaanta hun, ek baar toh kaanta bhi lag gaya tha, bahot royi thi lekin agle din jab yaha laaya toh firse unhi paudho ke paas chali gayi
There was a moment of silence between the duo.
Suryakant: main tumhara dard samaj sakta hun Arjun lekin…
Arjun: nahi!
Suryakant(confused): kya?
Arjun turned to face him: aap nahi samaj sakte! Jis din meri laash milegi aapko us din samjhenge
Suryakant(shocked): Arjun…
Arjun: ya fir wait, shayad jis din Roshni ki laash dekhenge us din samjhenge
Suryakant: Arjun tum kya bol rahe ho?
Arjun(cracked) : maine aisa kaunsa gunaah kiya tha papa jo aapne meri zindgi barbaad karne ke liye use ghar mein le aaye?
Suryakant: aisa nahi hai Arjun main….
Arjun poured out his anguish freely: toh kaisa hai? bachpan se lekar aaj tak aapne kabhi mera pita banne ki koshish tak nahi ki! Sirf maa mere saath khadi hotithi Ye Bhi Sehan Nahi Hua Aapse? aap hume alag nahi kar sake toh Roshni ke le aaye apna kaam karne ke liye? Ek Khushi Thi Meri Zindgi Mein Lekin Meri Beti KoBhi Maar Daala Usne! (breaking down) meri Shivi ko bhi cheen liya mujhse! Agar Aapko Mujhse Itni Hi Problem Thi Toh PAIDA HOTE HI KYUN NAHI MAAR DAALA MUJHE?
His words hit Suryakant like bullets.
Suryakant: Arjun Shivangi ki maut ek accident…
Arjun: NAHI THA WOH ACCIDENT!!! KHOON THA!!! JO AAPKI KAAYAR BAHU NE EK CRIMINAL KE SAATH MIL KAR KIYA HAI!!

Hurt and confused his father left as Arjun broke down completely. Roshni smirked to herself seeing the duo from a distance. Her plans were working perfectly.

Riya screamed at her: TUM ITNI KHUDGARZ KAISE BAN SAKTI HO?!?!? EK MAA HOKAR APNI HI BETI KI JAAN KAISE LE SAKTI HO?? TUMHARI DUSHMANI JAB SURYAKANT JI SE THI TOH TUMNE ARJUN KE SAATH YE SAB KYUN KIYA?!?! UNHONE KYA BIGADA THA TUMHARA?!?!
Roshni smirked: kyunki main uske pure pariwar ko tabah karna chahti thi aur maine wahi kiya! (turning to her man) Rafiq! Ise andar bandh kar do, iska kya karna hai baad mein sochenge pehle consignment pura karo!
Rafiq: ha boss!
He gestured two of his men to lock her up in a room. Riya kicked them trying to free herself but her ropes were too tight.
Riya: chodo mujhe!!
He slapped her : hilna band kar!!!
Riya glared at him. Just then firing started from outside stunning everyone.
She smirked: Waise dukhda sunane ka shauk toh tumhe bhi kaafi hai
Roshni slapped her again: Rafiq Kuchal Daalo Sabko, Koi Bhi Officer Bach Ne Na Paaye Aur Arjun Ko Zinda Rakhna, Use Main Khud Apne Haathon Se Maarungi!
Rafiq(removing his gun) : ha boss!
The men threw Riya into the room and locked her up inside before going to help in the shootout. Riya was in a frenzy, trying to untie her ropes and wondering how would Arjun react when he came to know Roshni didn’t just run away to let Shivangi die but herself orchestrated the whole thing.
Riya: UGH DAMMIT!! Ye Rassiyan Khul Kyun Nahi Rahi Hai?
She looked around if something could help her cut them. the bulbs glowing on the ceiling caught her attention. She turned her legs to a side and pushed herself against a wall. Taking support from it, she managed to stand up straight. A strand of her hair fell on her eyes tickling her. She blew it away and picked up a rod which was piled up among the debris in one corner.
She walked to the bulb and held the rod from the bottom swinging it above her. A few swift tries and the bulb smashed to the ground shattering into a million pieces. Riya dropped to her knees and turned the opposite way throwing the rod away. She picked up a piece of glass and started slicing the ropes.
Riya(muttering): come on…khul ja please….khul ja…(the ropes started loosening) yes!!!
She threw away the ropes and picked up the rod to use it as a weapon. She tried to rush outside but the door was locked.
Riya: Dammit!!
Outside-
The shootout was intense. Roshni had made a big mistake by underestimating the enemy. Her men were falling like dominoes. She was getting frustrated. She slipped back inside and kicked a carton.
Roshni: Meri Saari Mehnat Par Paani Fer Diya In Kambaqto Ne, Ab Kaise Niklu Yaha Se?Ugh!!
Her eyes fell on the room where they had locked Riya. A scheme propped in her mind mv “ab yahi mujhe yaha se nikalegi!” She had barely taken a step forward when a gun loaded behind her.
Arjun: HANDS UP!!
She closed her eyes in irritation as she recognized Arjun’s voice. She had to come up with another plan…fast!
Arjun came forward: turn around!
Roshni turned with helplessness on her face: Arjun?
Arjun was baffled on seeing her. His gun went down automatically.
Arjun: Roshni?
She ran and hugged him: Arjun! Arjun please bachao…mujhe…
Arjun didn’t hug her back. He pulled away from her.
Arjun: tum...tum yaha kaise?
Inside-
Riya peeped through the keyhole and saw Roshni hugging Arjun. Anger raged through her body.
Riya: kamini!! Abhi bhi drama kar rahi hai, Ise Toh Main Chodungi Nahi!
She stepped behind and thrusted on the door with full force breaking it open. The sound made Arjun and Roshni jump. Color ran away from her face as Riya glared at her.
Arjun stepped in Riya’s direction: Riya…
Taking the chance Roshni tried to run away.
Riya: Arjun Rokiye Use! Roshni Hi Sikandar Hai!!!
A lightning bolt struck Arjun, paralyzing him: kya?
Riya rolled her eyes and threw the rod at Roshni’s feet.
Roshni: AAAHH!!
She stumbled over and fell, spraining her ankle badly. Riya immediately pinned Roshni to the ground.
Roshni struggled hurling curses at them: Chodo Mujhe!! Tum Jaanti Nahi Ho Main Kaun hu? SIKANDAR NAAM HAI MERA!! BARBAAD KAR DUNGI TUM SABKO!!!
Arjun came back to his senses with her screaming. The truth finally dawned on him and so did a new found fury. He clenched his gun and grabbed her by her arm forcing her to stand.
Arjun: TUMNE KHOON KIYA HAI SHIVANGI KA!??!!?
Roshni: Ha! Maine Maara Use! Badla Lena Chahti Thi Main Tumse! TUMHARE PURE PARIWAR SE!!
Arjun slapped her in anger dropping her to the ground.
Arjun: HOW COULD YOU?!?! APNI HI BETI KO KAISE MAAR SAKTA HAI KOI?!?!?
Roshni: Woh Meri Beti Nahi Thi! WOH SIRF TUMHARI BETI THI! Aur Maine Uske Saath Wahi Kiya Jiske Liye Maine Use Janam Diya Tha!! USE MAARNE KE LIYE!!
Her words fuelled his fire. His gun went straight up and he squeezed the trigger.Shocked, Riya pushed away his hand at the last moment causing the bullet to hit a wall.
Riya: Arjun Nahi!!
Arjun: Leave Me!!!
She tried to push him back: Arjun please stop!!
Arjun tried to move past her: Riya Jaane Do Mujhe! I WILL KILL HER!!...................................
