So tomorrow if a woman shows up in shorts at a temple or a mosque, would that be ok?
I am all for woman's rights, but there is also a thing called code of conduct. Iftar mahfil is a religious tradition where Muslims break their day long fast. Dressing modestly for the occasion is a requirement.
I hate how this my body my choice motto is misinterpreted as having the right to dress inappropriately for any given occasion.
Soon we might have women parading around in the streets naked screaming my body my choice, if this what feminism is.
may be papa salim was staring @ the cleavage 😆
Iftaar - religious occasion
regular iftaar party - religious occasion
bollywood iftaar party - a drama where i doubt even the so called Muslims on roza
so in that scenario does it matter? well maybe it still does since the label of iftaar is there...lol

Lol. What does this have to do with dressing appropriately for the occasion. You won't go to a indian wedding wearing a mini skirt. You won't go to a Christian funeral wearing white (as they associate that with marriage). Its not about choice. Its about RESPECT. Sure, you can wear whatever you want. Nobody is stopping you but everything has a time and place.
and i agree with sentiments against my body my choice
if hippo says my body my choice and then decides to go naked on street shouting my body my choice my body my choice
he will be loaded in a truck and thrown in some pond in a jungle
stupid concept of my body my choice..freedom of speech
lets end laws in name of freedom and choice...
stupid low IQ arguments

😂😂😂😂😂 why don't you read up on Ramadan and Iftar before making silly comments like these? The whole point of Iftar is religious. Ye cocktail party nahi hai jaha par mini skirts pehen k aa jao. If all was good and dandy then why did Arpita tell her to cover up?
The article itself calls it a religious gathering:
"For the party, which was more of a religious gathering, Giorgia wore a white Indian lehenga-choli and she looked pretty but what looked a little off for the occasion was her low neckline. But, hailing from a different background, the Italian actress was not aware of the customs and dress code and opted for the deep neckline and was interacting with the guests."
Silly comment? I was just asking a question as I was confused about since when an Iftar party became a sacred event. I'm just gonna have to peg this one down to cultural differences tbh coz none of the Iftar gatherings I've been to have been this deep. Especially with the non muslims in attendance. BTW its really cute of you to assume that I wouldn't know anything about Islam. I didn't know one could tell a members religious identity through the internet. Oh well, try to keep the patronising tone to a minimum and have a happy Eid sis.
I didn't find Arpita wrong its just that the pulling of the chunri drew more attention then her whispering to her. Offcourse if some desi aunty says that to any asian girl they will get the hint and know how much to pull the chuni down and cover yourself. The lady (sorry forgot her name) is not asian so she probably thought its like adjusting your scarf a bit but its not.
Why did Arpita had to tell her? Haven't Arbaaz looked at his girlfriend? Maybe he didn't have the courage to ask her that. 🤪
Meh. Not everything has a feminist angle to it. I don’t understand the problem in advising someone to dress in accordance to the attire expected at a gathering for a religious event. This isn’t just any social event, and it doesn’t hurt to show basic manners in respect of others’ beliefs.
