Chapter- 08

The week passed quickly and finally Sunday arrived. Mehek's day out with Shaurya. Mehek couldn't sleep properly the previous night due to excitement of her date. Same happened with Shaurya. Though he almost planned everything but new ideas were kept coming and he frequently changed his idea. He wanted to make the day special for mehek. He wanted to make mehek realize how special she is to him. Every idea seemed like not enough for him.

Mehek choose a navy blue anarkali style semi long kurti which has white small polka dot print all over it to wear with a pair of narrow cut light blue denim for the date. She wore some oxidized bangles on one hand. Put some light make up and kept her hair down.

Suddenly her phone biped showing her she received a sms. The message said, " waiting for you in front of your lane, come soon". Her eyes lit up with excitement and she grabbed her purse and mobile and tip toed to exit the house. Her parents went to visit some relatives , so they were not at home. But she didn't want to come face to face with her big brother and face his questions. She told nehal that she has some errands to run at wc..so she was going there.

Here Shaurya was waiting impatiently at his car which was parked in a bit far from front of pwg lane. He was constantly checking his car to ensure the cleanliness of his car and also sprayed some air freshener. He was also checking himself in rear view mirror to make sure he was looking good.

He wore a turquoise blue short sleeved fitted polo shirt with a pair of dark blue denim. His eyes fell on a certain beauty from his rear view mirror and he came out of his car to welcome his date. He couldn't control but grinned watching mehek coming towards him.
'Hey' , mehek greeted nervously.
' hey' , shaurya greeted her with a stupid grin. Then he hurried to the side of passenger door and opened it for mehek. Mehek settled herself on the sit comfortably and thanked shaurya. Shaurya situated himself on driving sit.

He turned back and started fidgeting with something on the back seat. Mehek looked at him amused. Shaurya presented a small bouquet of multicoloured roses to Mehek. Mehek took the bouquet from his hand blushing " Thank you, this is beautiful". Shaurya smiled " welcome, but not more beautiful than you". Mehek looked at the roses and blushed hard. "Let's go?", shaurya asked. Mehek nodded.

The first ten minutes of their drive was really silent. Both were nervous and finding for the right words to start a conversation. Both were stealing glances from each other and when their eyes were meeting accidentally they were smiling and blushing. Yap right Shaurya Khanna is also blushing. " oh idiot.. why are you not saying anything.. mu me dahi jamake rakkha hai kya, say something ", shaurya mentally scolding himself.
Shaurya took a deep breath before saying "you are looking beautiful today".
" Thank you.. don't i look beautiful everyday ", Mehek said teasingly.
" no no... i didn't mean that ", shaurya nervously blurted.
Mehek laughed to see him nervous... she shook her head " just kidding. So where are we going"?
"You will see", shaurya smirked.
Then rest of the drive consisted of small talk between them..sharing some childhood memories of one another.

Shaurya parked his car in front of a cafe. Mehek looked at the surroundings surprised and then a pinkish tone crept on her cheeks remembering the place. They both make their way into the cafe. The blush was not fading from mehek's cheek. They both took a seat at a booth in one corner. "Out of all place you choose this place to bring me", mehek shook her head smiling.
"Why not? Don't you like the place? We've met here for the first time.. actually not met ..it should be said kissed", shaurya said with a wink.
Mehek playfully glared at shaurya and threw a napkin towards him.
" You know from that day, this is my favourite place. I used to come here whenever i get time in hope to meet you again ", shaurya told her.
" i was so panicked after my little dare that after that day i never came in this place ", mehek told him meekly.
" let's order something ", shaurya asked. Mehek nodded.
After some time, Shaurya returned with a tray with two burgers and two cold drinks and placed it on the table .
They began to eat and chit chat. Suddenly mehek's phone started to ring. Caller id showing her mom is calling. She excused herself and received the call standing a bit far from the booth.

Shaurya was checking his mobile while sipping his drink.
"Hey Shaurya ", a known voice came from front.
Shaurya looked up from his mobile and nearly choked his drink spilling a few drops here and there.
" hey Shravan, you are here!!! hi Sonal.", shaurya greeted them nervously.
Shravan took the seat with sonal where mehek was sitting moments before.
"Yap just hanging around...what are you doing here..are you here with someone. ", Shravan asked.
" no", shaurya blurted too quickly. Suddenly his eyes fell on mehek's purse which was still there in one side. Sonal also saw it too and understood what's going there.
" so why you are eating two burgers ehh", Shravan asked wiggling his eyebrows.
In the meantime, Sonal slowly took mehek's purse and handed it to Shaurya under the table.
" i was hungry.. i haven't eat anything from yesterday night", saying Shaurya started to eat quickly.
"Let's go somewhere else Shravan ", sonal insisted.
" why, aab yaha aahi gaye hai to bethte hai na.. shaurya is also here", Shravan said confused.
Meanwhile mehek's talk with her mom came to an end and she headed towards the table. She saw two people were sitting in front of Shaurya. Mehek could only saw their back of the head.She looked confused. Shaurya looked up and gulped saliva watching mehek coming towards him. He was trying to tell with his eye that to don't come there. Sonal looked at the direction where Shaurya is looking. Mehek's jaw dropped to notice sonal there and she immediately ran towards the direction from where she came.

"What are you two looking at?", asking Shravan was just looking behind but sonal suddenly scold him hard " you always look here and there though your girlfriend is just sitting near you. I will not talk to you.. i am going ", saying sonal hurriedly walked out of the cafe. Confused Shravan looked apologetically at Shaurya, mouthed " Pmsing" and run behind sonal.

After some time, mehek came back and sat with a huff. She drank from her cold drink to wet her dried throat. " sonal send me a message that coast is clear, she took bhai somewhere else".
Shaurya released his breath which he was holding. They both looked at each others relieved face and began laughing. They finished their lunch and headed towards his car.
" now where", sitting in the care mehek asked Shaurya.
" you are so impatient mehek, i can't tell.. you will see." , shaurya said mehek.
" ha ha.. i am just asking ...cz... if bhai also go there..so i will message sonal to not go there", mehek said with a pout.
" just say sonal to stay inside the city", shaurya said to her.
" are we going outside of the city", mehek asked shaurya like an over excited little child. Shaurya shrugged.
Mehek made a face at him showing her tongue.

Mehek opened her chatter box and started talking nonstop with him about anything and everything. Shaurya was amused to see the talkative side of mehek and was feeling glad she opened up to him. He was feeling happy to see her happy, talking animatedly, laughing wholeheartedly. It was becoming hard for Shaurya to concentrate on road instead of looking at the angelic beauty sitting beside him.

After half an hour, they reached their destination. Shaurya took Mehek to a carnival more like a fair. The place was decorated with colourful flares, lights. There were some fun rides, stalls of different types of snacks, balloons, jewellery stalls and a big ferris wheel.
Mehek was amazed to see the place. "Wow, i didn't know about the fair, have you came here before", mehek asked shaurya going towards the carnival entrance.
" yap i have come twice here. Some years before we some friends passing from here and came to know about this fair. It usually organised twice a year .. i thought you will like it ..so thought of bringing you her", shaurya said sheepishly.
" i don't like it" , mehek said. Shaurya' s face fall.
'I just love it" , mehek said laughing. " this place is so colorful and i am getting a festive vibe looking all over it", mehek said dreamily and began to run towards some of the gaming stall.
Shaurya relieved to see Mehek's childish antics and went behind her.

Mehek stopped in front of an archery game stall which said whoever will able to hit at the bull's eye will get a gift of their choice from the gift stake. Mehek wanted a fluffy baby pink unicorn soft toy from the gift stake.

Shaurya handed mehek a bow and three arrow. Mehek tried twice but first time it flew from the bow before aiming and second time it hitted far from the bull's eye. Mehek frowned cz of her bad aiming skills. " let me teach you", shaurya offered. Shaurya stood behind her and straightened her shoulder. He placed his hand over her and whispered "focus" on her ear. His hot breath was causing tingling sensation in her belly. Her breath was coming short due to his proximity and her arrow slipped from her bow and flew at shopkeeper's direction. The teenage boy who was running the game frowned at mehek " didi hume marwana hai kya"?.

Shaurya was trying hard not to laugh watching the situation. Mehek glared at him and said " lets see now tum kaunsa arjun ho..huh"?
Shaurya's first arrow landed far. Mehek giggled. Shaurya took a deep breath and aimed at the bull's eye " hey bhagwan..bacha lena.. ladki ki samne ijjat ka sawal hai", he mentally prayed. This time his arrow hitted the bull's eye. Mehek squealed and began jumping and clapping like a little girl . Shaurya took the soft toy she chose and gifted her. She took the toy and hugged it tightly and thanked him.

Then they began to explore the carnival. They ate chats, pani puri. They watched puppet show. Mehek bought some bangles for her and also gifted a cowboy hat to shaurya.

It was almost evening..sun was setting. Shaurya took mehek for a ride on ferris wheel. They sat on the ferris wheel and it began to go up slowly. They were sitting side by side. Suddenly a thought came across her mind. Mehek is addicted to romantic fictions and read many times in different stories that hero usually kiss the heroine at ferris wheel when it reached at the peak. She became nervous and started fidgeting with her hand closing her eyes " hey matarani.. will Shaurya kiss me now?".. she started nibbling her bottom lip " is my breath smells fresh...oh God". Suddenly Shaurya put his hand on mehek's shoulder. Mehek turned towards him still closing her eyes anticipating a kiss is coming her way. " Mehek..are you afraid of height"?, shaurya asked her..confused to see her. Mehek's eyes became wide open.." what..n..nnoo.noo", she stammered. "So why are you sitting here closing your eyes",Shaurya asked. " aise hi", mehek said sheepishly.

Shaurya pointed at the direction behind. Mehek shifted and looked at the direction. Her eyes widened to see the beauty. Its a serene sight. There was a lake and the ray of setting sun was falling on it. The scene was so beautiful. Mehek was so engrossed in watching the beautiful sight.. she didn't notice when she moved towards Shaurya. Her back was resting on his hard chest. Shaurya put his arms around her waist pulling her more towards him. His chin rested on her shoulder while they were enjoying the serene scenery. She was feeling content, secure and comfortable in his arms. The ferris wheel began to go down slowly and came to stop. Shaurya gently kissed the side of her head and whispered "chalein?".

They headed back towards the busy city. Though the ride was silent but the silence was peaceful..comfortable. Slow songs are playing in the car stereo and mehrya were enjoying the ride in each others company.
Suddenly the car came to stop in a bit distant place in front of the lane. Mehek sighed. She was not feeling like leaving Shaurya.
" Thank you Shaurya.. i really enjoyed the day ..(she paused)...with you.. this is one of the best day in my life.", mehek said.
" my pleasure ", shaurya smiled.
Mehek took her soft toy, flower bouquet and shopping bag from the back seat.
" Soo... i guess its time ...good bye for today", mehek smiled sweetly.
" i guess so", shaurya nodded sadly.

Mehek began to unlock the door but stop and turned towards Shaurya. He was looking at the front. It was hard to see her going. The day, the time was not enough to stay around her. He wants more. Mehek shifted towards him to give him a quick thank you kiss on his cheek but he turned his face at that moment and her lip landed on his ..shocking both of them. Mehek took her face back a bit and looked at his eyes which is full of passion. She took a bold step and softly pressed her lips on his. It took a moment to get over the shock for shaurya and he responded to her kiss gently, savouring every inch of her mouth, pouring all the love on that single kiss. After some moment both broke the kiss, resting their forehead together. Shaurya looked at her. Mehek's eye was still closed. " I love you Mehek ", shaurya said breathlessly .
