Chapter-6

Ajay is waiting impatiently at the entrance of hotel for mehek. He told mehek to come at sharp 7:00 pm but its almost 7:30 and mehek was no where. Ajay was continuously calling her but the call was unable to connect. He was just again about to call when he saw mehek getting out of cab wearing a saree which was not red. Ajay was about to begin shout at Mehek but he controlled himself somehow because of his surroundings. He asked mehek where is her phone? Mehek gave him the lame excuse of poor network but actually mehek turned off her mobile as she didn't want to hear ajay's taunt and shout as she unintentionally got late because of her red dress blunder. " why are you not wearing red"?,Ajay is totally irked. Mehek gave explanation why she is not wearing red.

Flashback
Mehek was getting ready at her room. She was wearing a red anarkali with golden embroidery on it. The dress was simple yet classy. She was in no mood to get ready. She wore simple makeup. She took her clutch and mobile and was just getting out of her room and at that moment Shravan was heading towards his room with a bowl of soupy noodles. And they bumped. Mehek's dress got destroyed as the whole soupy noodles got poured into her dress. She hurriedly changed into the first thing she got in her hand and thus she became late almost half an hour.
Flashback end.

"You and your idiot brother", Ajay muttered in disgust. Mehek glared at Ajay. Mehek hate it when someone said any bad words for any of her family members.
" sorry ", ajay said curtly though he is not looking sorry at all.
" keep it cool ajay until she will be all yours", ajay thought and smirked.
"let's head to the party hall baby", ajay grabbed mehek's arm and lead her towards the party.
Mehek mentally prepared herself to face worst side of Ajay and was also assuming may be he will tell her to head back to home ( which she will do happily to get rid of him)but to her surprise he didn't react so drastically.


" why mom dad are taking so much time to come out of the car." Shaurya Khanna in his navy blue tux waiting impatiently at the entrance of xyz hotel for his parents.
After a moment, Shaurya's dad Harish Khanna and mom Karuna Khanna came out of their car.
" Mom Dad why have you become so slow ... i guess age is taking toll on you", Shaurya teased his parents.
" aged and we...naah... i guess you are so much in hurry my son", said Harish Khanna.
" i can't believe you are accompanying us in a party..am i dreaming Harish, plzz pinch me", heading towards the party hall Karuna exclaimed melodramatically.
Shaurya rolled his eyes, " you have said this for umpteenth time this evening mom."
" as i am not satisfied with your answer...i am asking again", karuna patted her younger son's cheek.
" and my answer will be the same, can't i pass some quality time with my parents as i get hardly any time with you two." , shaurya made puppy dog face to lessen his mother's suspicion.
" ahha quality time... but you should tell us then na?.. it will be better if we all stay at home and eat some home cook dinner together.. " , karuna said.
" i guess this party is important for you", shaurya said.
" but not more important than hanging out with our son", Harish said.
" then let's ditch this party and we three go somewhere else to spend quality time", karuna suggested to see her son's reaction.
" no no no... aab yaha ahi gaye to let's spend some time in the party.. socializing bhi to zaroori hai"... shaurya said nervously.
"Hmmm", Karuna and Harish shared a knowing look. As they know something is cooking in their younger son's mind.

Mehek was literally getting bored standing beside Ajay and smiling politely to whoever ajay was talking . She was mentally cursing herself for wearing saree as Ajay's hand occasionally lingering on her bare waist.

After entering the party hall, Shaurya's eyes began to roam around the hall to locate a certain person for whom he is attending this boring party. His father was introducing him to some of his business associates... he was just nodding without paying much attention. Suddenly his eyes lit up like thousand watt bulb seeing a beauty in navy blue saree which was none other than mehek. Shaurya excused himself from his parents and some of their friends and began to head toward Mehek. But his mother caught him on his way.
" Shaurie where are you fleeing away.. i thought you wanted to spend "quality time" with us.", his mother exclaimed.
" Actually i need a drink", shaurya said.
Karuna stopped a waiter took a drink and handed him with a teasing smirk on her face.
Then she looked at the direction where her beloved son glancing longingly now and then.

" Shaurie You know mehek is getting engaged soon to that boy standing beside her?" , karuna asked her son.
Shaurya looked at his mother like deer caught in head light. Shaurya gulped some drink quickly.
" you know mehek?", shaurya asked his mother hesitating.
"Of course. I had met her at wc several times and heard a lot about her from kanta.. she is a very good girl", karuna told him with smile.
" ya i know ", shaurya said to his mother sadly.
Karuna patted his cheek "Good luck son", saying this she headed towards some women she knew.
Shaurya started to head towards mehek but again interrupted by nikita, one of his childhood friend. Shaurya's ear almost got dead listening nikita's high pitch screeching of his name.
"Shauryaaa... its lovely to meet you after decade", saying this she hugged shaurya tightly . Nikita is always touchy feely type of girl and a big flirty but she is good at heart.

Mehek was looking at her watch frequently getting bored to the hell. Suddenly a name grabbed her attention. " is someone said shaurya?". Her eyes started to find the owner of the name. Her eyes fall on him and she felt butterflies in her stomach watching shaurya. But her happiness to find him didn't stay for a minute as a skinny woman jumped in shaurya's arm. A sudden jealousy hit her. Mehek was making face watching the duo hugging just at that moment mehrya's eyes met. Shaurya smirked at mehek as he understood that she is making face to see him with nikita. To make mehek more jealous shaurya bent his mouth near nikita's ear and started to whisper something at which nikia started giggling. Mehek fumed. Trying to distract herself watching the cozy duo she began to admire the classy decoration of the hall. A minute after mehek saw that the skinny girl heading towards her direction. "What does she want", mehek muttered in her mind. Stopping in front of them the skinny girl started to flirt shamelessly with ajay who was acted same in the response.
Nikita acted as she felt thirsty suddenly and asked ajay to get her a drink. " sure, why not", saying ajay was heading but nikita said, " let's go together " . Looking at mehek nikita asked her " would you like to join us for a drink"
" no, mehek doesn't drink", ajay answered for mehek . Then the duo left. Mehek sighed in relief to get rid of ajay for some moment.

"Someone is looking gorgeous today", Shaurya whispered in mehek's ear from behind. Startled by sudden warm breaths in her ear mehek jumped a feet and turned around to see who it was.
Composing herself mehek asked" and who is that someone ",
"Someone who is standing in front of me draping in a blue saree.", shaurya said flirtatiously.
A tinge of red crept on mehek's face.
" thank you and someone is looking not that bad", mehek said shaurya in response.
Shaurya raised his brow hearing mehek's witty complement " ahha".
" are you following me mehek and you also came here wearing my favourite colour. You did research of my favourite things, didn't you? Oh mehek you don't have to do such things to impress me"... Shaurya teased mehek.
Mehek rolled her eyes, " in your dreams".
"In my dreams, you already become mother of my seven children ", shaurya murmured to himself.
Mehek's brow furrowed in confusion " kuch kaha tumne?"
Shaurya opened his mouth to tease mehek more but interrupted by a fake sweet voice.
" Shaurya beta, how are you.. its been long i have seen you..", nirmala a social butterfly ( who doesn't want to give any chance to talk to whoever she is talking) greeted shaurya.
" namaste anti", shaurya said politely.
Nirmala's eye landed on mehek " arey shaurya beta tumne shaadi kab karli... i am so upset karuna didn't even inform me..so what i was at US for last six months but batana to chahiye tha na"
Mehek was dumbfounded to hear that and opened her mouth to clear her misunderstanding but shaurya cut in between.
" actually anti..sab jaldi jaldi me hogaya..", shaurya said sheepishly. Hearing this mehek pinch at shaurya's side and shaurya yelped.
" you two are looking adorable...wearing matching matching...aha.. nayi nayi shaadi ...kisiki nazaar na lage" .. saying she left.
Mehek glared at Shaurya "what was that for? ..why didn't you clear her misunderstanding "
" if i clear her misunderstanding she would began to set up me with some of her NRI niece ...which she was trying for 2 years whenever she met me", shaurya said to mehek.
Mehek shook her head in disbelief " if she now go to your mother and asked...what will she think".
" don't worry... by the time she will meet my mom ..she will forget everything ", shaurya said her cheekily.
Suddenly shaurya's phone started to ring and he excused himself. It was from his father. He looked around but didn't get a glimpse of his parents. Excused himself from mehek..To get the network he headed towards the hall entrance. "

Mehek glanced at her watch .. it was showing 11 pm.. she headed to find ajay to get back to home as it was getting late. She find Ajay midway. Ajay smiled at her " hello baby.. i am looking for you".
Mehek made a disgusting face as she can smell alcohol from ajay.
"Ajay its getting late.. i think we should head towards home.", mehek said.
"Ok let's go", ajay hold her waist.
Mehek flinched out of his hand and started walking quickly keeping a good distance from ajay.
As she was heading towards parking area..ajay grabbed mehek's arm from behind " baby...this way."
Mehek was confused " but the sign showing the parking area is on this way.."
"Oh baby..why are you in so hurry to get home..we are getting engaged on next week...lets enjoy the night together... i have booked a suite for us"..ajay saying this tracing mehek's jawline.
" are you out of your mind.. no ajay..this is not right.. i am not spending night with you", mehek hissed in anger and hurriedly started walking towards exit. But ajay grab her and dragged her to parking lot and slumped her against his car.
" i don't take no as answer...what do you think of yourself... i am going to be your husband.. you have to obey my all order... i have all right on you", ajay tried to kiss mehek. Mehek disgusted slapped ajay hard on face.
Ajay got furious and grabbed mehek tightly by upper arm " you little b****"... Mehek trying hard to came out of ajay's pounce but ajay locked her against his car by his body weight and put his one hand on her mouth so that she couldn't shout. Mehek got panicked as ajay's heinous mouth closing near her neck. She was trying hard with all her might to get rid of him but of no luck. Suddenly a loud thump was heard and ajay began to groan rolling on the floor. Shaurya punched ajay hard on the jaw and with his one punch ajay is flat on floor. Shaurya looked at mehek who was still shaking in panic " let's go.. i will drive you to home". Shaurya hold her wrist firmly and took her to his car.
