Hi Vinnas! How have you been? 😊
I am not comparing the characters of YHM & Silsila. I am comparing their power to give me headache & high blood pressure.
As for Ishaan, he is a good guy no doubt. But he is bland & too good to be true.
My opinion regarding MauHaan has changed as per the situations.
No human being & no relationship is perfect. It's on us how we tackle the situations. At times you have to be authoritative & sometimes you have to back out to give the required space. When you fail to do that, it doesn't matter how good or suitable you are for each other. In the long run, the relationship will suffer.
If you remember BHOOTU, the first time AarHi drifted apart was because both of them were authoritative. And once the misunderstanding got cleared, Suchi handled the situation. She did back up & gave Aarav the required space to vent his frustration & anger. She didn't become a doormat in the process. But she took her step back. And when the right time came, she again strongly advocated for her cause. During the last phase, even Aarav backed out. He stood strong on his stand & yet supported Suchi.
And that's the thing I believe matters most in a relationship. Your mutual understanding & more importantly acknowledging your own stand so that you know when to take charge & when to back up. It's not about being the man or feminism. It''s about the much needed harmony.
I am not comparing AarHi with MauHaan because both Aarav & Suchi were highly flawed human being while Mauli & Ishaan are pure.
But as a viewer I feel neither Mauli nor Ishaan knows how to handle their relationship.
Even diehard Mauli fans can't deny that Mauli always gives priority to others over her own relationship & it's a very big flaw of her.
When I look at Ishaan, I find him lagging in the same aspect. He is supportive. And that's endearing. But being super supportive doesn't help you or your loved ones. Believe me, I am saying this from my personal experience. Sometimes you have to be tough for their betterment.
When Kunal had first come back, everyone could see Mauli's reaction. He could have postponed their engagement at that time. He could be firm on his stand but he chose to support Mauli. Even when Mauli backed up from it, instead of giving her time & finding out what was the reason, he chose to seek help Kunal. And after the accident, again he chose to help Kunal which even Radhika didn't want.
That is why I don't find him to be perfect for Mauli. Because just like her, he prioritize everything & everyone above his own happiness. But he isn't strong enough to take charge. If he thought he was being treated as a doormat & walked out, I would support him. But here he is persuading Mauli to take that step.
More than his greatness, it's his weakness.
If you were a viewer of TVD, you would know that in their 3rd Season Damon asked Elena at one point that whether she was expecting him to cause a blunder so that it becomes easy for her to choose. And then told her that he wouldn't make it that easy for her & she will have to choose for herself. That is determination. Fighting tooth & nail for your love even when the chance is slim.
This is why I am personally disgusted with the current storyline & Ishaan.
Sorry, I made it way too long. 😛
