I think they're trying to follow Raabta, the FL hated her step mom but they got closer. The difference there is that all characters are new, but here people are attached to Chakor only.

i dont watch rabta but daughter hating mother post leap is cliche and done to death in shows

I think they are copying yrkkh.may be they are thinking if audience can accept new pair in yrkkh which such a long running show than they will eventually accept here also.They need chakor till audience accepts Anjor than they will make chakor character end.

I don't watch Raabta either, but at the start some fans were irritated by the attitude of the FL (the character) and called her a brat, she didn't accept that her step mom replaced her dead mother.
