Padmaavat did not have a clash, plus it was targeted by a fringe group Karni Sena not the ruling party as such. Even Karni ppl stopped protesting after it released.

Raees definitely was targeted by right wingers who openly supported the other movie. Raees was better than many supposedly hit movies by others and deserved to be a bigger hit
LOL Akki got a NA for the same movie for which his Navy dress was criticized. Neither Aamir nor SRK got NAs yet for even their best performances.

Karni Sena isn't BJP, but so isn't Shiv Sena who protested against MNIK.

And
And Karni Sena attacked school buses, theaters and had to be arrested by police, same thing happened with MNIK, situation isn't much different, plus unlike Padmavat, MNIK eas eventually opened in the protested areas.
Raees has its own controversy but I have given enough examples from PK to Padmavat, that such controversies don't effect movies are well made. Even BJP leaders said the same that Padmaavat needs to be banned, so it is not like only SRK movies which have felt the warth. And even these protests aren't big deals.

Akki's navy dress controversy happened last year, not in 2016. So obviously it will have no bearing on his NA won this in 2017.

that question was dumb... as a person reviewing movies Anupama should know that any actor doesnt really have to accept the ideology of the character he / she is playing... what Alia said about Drug Addicts is actually right...

also putting up a picture, doesnt mean Ranveer endorses whatever Modi or Government says...

so there is actually no reason to answer this question... but Ranveer also distanced himself cause he wouldn't want to say anything to cause scandal... and of course if adding that song was Zoya's decision to represent a certain ideology then its her who should be answering that question... not him...

tomorrow if someone asks him Safeena's ideology for hitting someone with a beer bottle... what will he say... its Alia who would be answering that question...no ??

No, they are smart enough not to get embroiled in political matters when promoting a film.

Not everyone's Kangana or whomever is favoured by the political party to the hilt.

They are actors -when promoting a movie- so.. as your fave probably also does... they want the focus to be on the movie and its qualities.. not start some political debate.

bang on... 👏

and with the backlash faced by Padmavat from BJP...no wonder he wants to NOT say anything

even safeena hitting a bottle on someones head is something zoya shud answer, coz she wrote the character, alia just acted in the role, and its true, actors play roles that they don't have to necessarily agree with or connect with in real life, its part of their job

with the song azadi it was divine and dub sharma that wrote it and zoya was the one who decided to put it into the film, so ranveer and alia really don't have the answers for the question

and yeh they are avoiding any controversy aswell, they know how sensitive the topic of politics is

As a veteran she must be aware of that. It's just that plain questions won't give rise to searing and saleable controversies. 😆

Yes, main person would be Zoya... But my point was that Alia can answer as she played the character and must've discussed it with Zoya...

But here neither Ranveer nor Alia are in the said song... So dono ka relation nahi hai song ki ideology se...

Tomorrow if someone ask them about some political ideology in Manikarnika, can they answer ??

I was actually shocked because Anupama usually doesn't go with such cheap tactics.

I have the feeling she isn't happy... for whatever reasons.. with Zoya ( that's my feeling, mind, so don;t ask me for proof.. but there was somethiong not on when she interviewed Zoya.. and then throwing questions that a director should answer , to the actors.. I was like.. who spoilt your cheese, Anupama? Did VVC want to do a movie on rappers? Is there another reason? Not sure)

Ranveer's comment would have been loaded with a greater market value in contrast to whatever a less popular Zoya would have voiced. Moreover, Zoya's hatred towards the dispensation is known.

Perfectly put. Just found this on FB today. Why we need to be politically aware and not brush off everything under the carpet saying we are apolitical.
