In addition, I would not like to limit my take about "movie-watching" to SRK's movies.

Delivers mean he should make a film that's truly good.at least audience n critics in majority feels so. A movie that is enjoyable to watch not like jhms which I literally felt like was a waste of time n money.

I said satisfying fans cz I saw posts saying how his non fans r criticising him n that's wrong. I think anyone can criticise an actor not just his fans .Also a fan is much less likely to dislike a film of his fav ,whil w neutral viewer would not be biased while critiquing it.

His recent films r bad I'm, that's my opinion. Theyre really not enjoyable or meaningful or entertaining. He has to take at least some responsibility for that cz he obviously signs the films after hearing the script?

I didn't act sarcastic. I genuinely feel it's unfair to blame audience bcz his films r not something groundbreaking artsy or abstract. So audience can understand it .noth not he has done recently is that complicated. None of his films had any complicated plot or open ending or themese too niche . They're very simple and most of the times the problem is not that audience doesn't understand the plot,they just find the plot half baked n stupid

Audience ki bhi mentality kuchh apne corner se, apne dhung ki hi hoti hai,... agar, Sunny, Noora ya Mallika ...item song waala, long-bare legs,.. Cabret karti hai, toh,... "Chalo Chhoro yaar,... saali hai hi aisi, doosra aata bhi kya hai,.." waali feeling aati hai,..

Aur jab,... Aishwarya,.. iishq kameena ya Kajra re karti hai,... toh,...

" aur bhi taarif karo,... Tumhaare munh se achhi lagti hai,.." waali Kabhi-Kabhi ki feeling aati hai,.. Lol.

How is kiss between two consenting adults equal to something traumatic like rape😕skinshow kissing etc should be there if plot demands it not just to titillate tharki guys,like item songs do.

Well, the basic principle is, any erotic which excites the human hormones, erodes brain neurons, gives an electrifying signal runs in human body veins,.. ( no one is exception,. But again, almost 50+% movie go-ers or viewing audience are into this factor for going to watch a movie and cares little about story, the characters , acting of the characters, good message convey and such,..

I have observed the audience in theater for decades, be it SSS movie / Ram teri ganga maili, Bhumika, Akrosh, Sidhdharth, or any,... as soon as the erotic plays on theater screen, the whole theater is all-of- a sudden in a in pin-drop silence, you can hear even he noise of a needle, that's how it affects and catches the brain neurons,...

I guess, dirty lust factor is both in French kissing and item songs,... depends on how it is portrayed/ zoom, camera angle , close-captioned, filter, direct/in-direct showing and many other factors, but they both do the same job,...

Time has changed,... curse words, french-lip-locking, has gone quite common in almost every movies, TV serials, and also loads of po*n-world all open for anyone to access for,.. ! Those after-marriage suhagraat funny love-romance ( jeetu ji with Mausami , or Rameshwari,.. in aasha, sawrg-narak and Pyasa sawan and almost all old movies ) and pallu-hataaving scenes @ Suhag-raat have ended, rapes like in Roti kapda aur makaan and Insaaf ka taraju have ended,... Consented, passionate French-styled, mouth-to-mouth and breath-to-breath love-making scenes and filtered silver screen Item songs portraying lights, half-nude dresses colors and curves and body-fitness exposures showmanship have increased,.. ( Noora's Dibar Dilbar is running on top,... at present.. )

Gone R' the days, Once upon a time, when Nutan wore first time a bikini / swimsuit in Hindi cinema and that had almost shook the ground,... Or, Sunny paaji force-fitted that lipped kiss in Betaab on Amrita , and ppl saw the movie thrice only for that scene,... ! Today there's no count of which scene where and how and who performed,... ! Each movie is filled with filth of lip-locks and gaalis,.. Wait and watch, da Days R not that far,.. that,.. Deeps and Piggs will also pose their bare Nips in Hollywood films soon, just like other Hollywood actresses,... Time has changed,. Generation has changed,... Everyone just wants to "jee-leving" da Life !

Yeh hai waqt ka iishaara,... Rock On,...Zindagi milegi naa Doobaara ! - is da only motto in this generations' mind !

I think, SRK was lucky also at somewhere for sure,..,.. that unlike, Kaka and Big B who had to do loads of fight sequences in each and every of their movies,... doing disoom-sisoom somewhere with Prem chopra, Shetty, Man mohan, Ranjeet, Shakti kapoor, Amrish puri, Ajeet, K N singh, Punit issar, Amzad khan, and who not,.. and had to learn so many fight master arts, techs, sequences, loads of rehearses, Big B even had even injured himself next to death,... doing such scenes,..etc,..

But in case of SRK, ... Koyla, and very few such movies apart,.. most of the chunk he got musical, geet-sangeet, family life, Shaadi, love-hate with no villain in the movies, sorta movies having no villain in it and hence, he saved the entire hard-work needed in that department,...

. the script choice and roles are criticised and there's a commomn theme that SRK movies carry a lot of expectation for quality..
There seems to be a lot of goodwill for SRK even amongst non fans.. which is a great positive.. it means people are ready to go watch a movie if there's good WOM and the stories make sense and have a general appeal - or they show SRK back to his good acting phase.

There's debate over which types of roles are best suited to move forward.

(apologies to those that did wonderful summations and whom I forgot to mention).
The romantic role is something most are warning against. Many think SRK would suit in thrillers, darn character and others(see sherlockthor's list)

Of course the casual (admirer)fan perspective is best, IMO, because casual SRK likers don't see all aspects with (stan) fan - tinted glasses and can, if they find the right place to express, put forward some very insightful points. The majority of those posting as not necessarily or primarily SRK fans have been in general complimentary of his skills but critical of his movie choices. Or of presumed director-actor rapports.. or possibly meddling in scenes... but there was not a lot of negativity (more ...frustration towards end product).
There were mainly positive responses- and bar one troll and an overprotective fan- the discussion was enlightening for people that haven't looked at SRK's filmography in detail or with a critical but constructive thinking.
Hopefully I can write up a proper piece later - on what I think have been the most common opinions with regards to the future.
It also seems there are a lot of people that wouldn't mind seeing a SRK movie even now, if the movie has a good story- with all the good/bad things that have happened over the last 5 years, that would indicate SRK 's stardom is still strong and he cans till command a huge succes..

People just want a good story told well.. If that's achieved, the BO will follow.

In case you've missed it amongst all the comments- here is some sort of summary.

**Note**: Himalaya10's observations were also very informative and helpful.. He helped move the discussion along when I lacked the knowledge necessary to debate certain points.

i try to totally refrain from that and would mention where the Credits are due,.. and will expose debits/minus sides too,... both,... !! I am no one's fan or enemy,.. I write what I see,... No1 is paying me to bash or peddle,.. :)

Again, every1 is entitled to present one's own views n' opinions,...n',... So am I !
