Its the sweeping statements by non fans/ rival actors fans that really gets to me

Saying all SRK movies in last decade have been trashy ...shows they have not actually watched any of those movies but just saying on the basis of perception or glib generalization

On what basis are they calling Fan or Raees or Dear Zindagi trashy? Even Zero wasnt trashy, the director and scriptwriter messed up but actors gave it their best and many parts were entertaining. HNY was trashy but it was a big hit so what is the whole point?

Trashy masala movies of other actors are applauded for their BO collections but if srk does it then its bashed, people will even deny his stardom here 😆

If indeed SRK "was done n dusted long back", this thread would not come to now 10 pages...

Why can't you just post your opinions without dragging off topic stuff like my faves, my intent ( how would you knoww hat is in my head?) my 'powers to send superstars to TV'?

All other contributors have shared their opinion in a decent manner.

I understand that you are a fan . Wouldn't you, as a fan, want to see/hear what people that are NOT necessarily SRK fans think?

Wouldn't their views make an interesting point to ponder on? And if it woul;dn't ..then that is fine too.. you can ignore us.

I do not understand why you are so hang up on the idea that this thread is negative. On the whole, I'd say everyone expressed opinions in a decent manner and with respect towards SRK..

Just because you do not agree with their views does not mean that they are here to 'bash'. On the contrary.. what I got from reading the posts is that most like SRK and wish he got better movies.. or movies that did better than they did.

Regarding the movies: the fan perception is one.. the outside reality/perception is another.You might see the WW total as a succes but Indian BO doesn't work on WW figures. (whether this is influenced by politics or not, feel free to discuss, I am not one to know such thing)

Also he is THE SRK.. of course people want his movies to be massive hits and be like the other Khans- at top, hitting 250-300-350 cr.. Why would you want him to be compared with Akki's or Ajay's 100 cr movies ? Wouldn't you want him to rule the BO?

Please stop attackign posters and I will reply to the best of my knowledge. Yes I have limited knowledge but you view these opinions through fan-tinted glasses.

Look again how many times I have actually stated I like many of his movies and I defended SRK when the newbie posted that post.

Not everyone is ill intended.

Again, thanks for the understanding. Hope you get it and continue to put your poiunts across in a non-combative manner.

@free-lancer: Thanks for answering...I really wondered (it wasn't meant as a reproach, so please no hard feelings)...

I have a problem with generalizations, it's easier for me when I know that the impressions/statements are based on personal experience (so bear with some of my comments, please).

@crispsy : A one-liner that contains the essence of the domestic audience's problem with him, maybe.

Edit:(to the second line) Didn't he try to destroy it?...like with JHMS and Zero?

Ok @pallavi25..I dont see the need to justify anything to you, but just so that you know, Fan's second half was a horrible drag, Raees was half baked and neither here nor there and Dear Zindagi was an Alia Bhatt movie with SRK in an extended cameo (btw he was well suited in it..specially the Kursi scene was my favourite!)

now lets talk about his "thrashy" movies - HNY, Dilwale, JHMS, JTHJ, Ra.1..I couldnt even bear JHMS for like 20 minutes

and I cant even believe you are trying to defend Zero..😆

and why exactly is a series on Netflix a downgrade? Netflix is considered to be the IT streaming app..Sandra Bullock and Will smith can do it, but SRK karenge toh its a downgrade?😕 and calling Karma reference on someone for that..like seriously 😆😆😆

The landscape of entertainment changed. Everyone has access to diversified contents. If you can't offer the same to people, then you are finished. Last year, most of the films were good and did incredibly good. SRK doesn't seem to believe in radical change. Even though TOH flopped, you have to give it to Amir, he changed, succeeded and was decade ahead. Amir had ghajni, TZP, 3I and SRK had RNBDJ, CDI, MNIK which are different from each other. Amir pursued differentiated contents while SRK went backward.

Im presenting the counter opinion to the posters, with FACTS, when did I trash or attack anyone?😕

Nobody has yet answered my questions abt the BO stuff I posted

Some of the posters here have made sweeping statements calling ALL SRK's recent movies as trashy, I didnt see you try to counter them?

Fan, Raees, DZ were trashy?

Ajay Akshay are also considered superstars and in same generation as Khans, so why are their 100 crore movies applauded, even the trashy ones like Houseful series, while SRK's good movies are also called trashy?

If worldwide wasnt important why were people posting Worldwide numbers for Padmaavat? 😆

I have seen you lose your cool when someone criticizes Ranveer in other topics so dont try to lecture me, Ive also seen you name call other actors. Next time I will point that out

I have not name called anybody here, just pointed out their obvious bias against SRK, which is apparent from their sweeping judgement of ALL his recent movies including the good ones.

If SRK has such bad script sense, he would not have done Raees, Fan, DZ.

Its the directors and writers who failed him in other movies, his acting was always lauded by critics, why arent people mentioning that? Shows the blatant BIAS

I know what most of this forum feels abt SRK, Ive seen that since 2015, they also trash his good movies while lauding other actors trashy crap. So sorry I take opinions here with a large lump of salt.

If you have limited knowledge then refer to websites like Koimoi, BOI before posting

As for sending SRK to TV, hes the only actor who became a Superstar from a TV actor, nobody has and will repeat that achievement ⭐️

He needs to stop adding "thrills" from his side to the writer/director' version. It worked in first decade of this millennium but has not since the advent of second decade. The sooner he realises it the better his movies will become.
