The movie is unbelievably amazing! At this day and time, when any creation on defence forces is looked upon as a propaganda to showcase nationalism (depicting nationalism is not wrong by the way, it is upto viewers if they wish to be inspired), this movie just brings out what happened on the ground, albeit with some fiction sprinkled over it.
Vicky and Paresh own the movie, hands down! Mohit carved out a place for himself with the least screen space. Not just Vicky, this guy has come a long way too!

The only thing which kept popping in my mind ever since the trailer was released, how can these people be allowed to have beards. Men in defence forces are allowed to grow beards only in certain cases which is mostly religious in nature.

Some of the BEST moments where the theater had burst into whistles and resounding claps
- Karan's (Mohit) actions during the attack.👏⭐️
- When Vihaan asks his men, 'Who are we?' and the response from them - 'The Indian Army'! 👏😎
- The young girl's heart wrenching war cry was enough to bring out all the emotions among viewers. The woman beside me actually sobbed a little.

And there are many more of these BEST moments. The slogan 'Balidaan Param Dharma' actually keeps ringing in your ears for a while.

There are definitely some comic scenes in between these emotionally and adrenaline charged moments which allows the viewers a leash. And yes, the Raazi sub plot was not really required here. It was not even fully addressed and seemed the writers left them to their fate.

Yami and Kirti were not fully utilized to their potential.

Is it only me who felt that Vihaan was actually attracted to Seerat (Kirti Kulhari)? 😳😆Although it is noted that Yami's character gets attracted to Vihaan in the last scene.

Overall, this movie only and truly induces patriotism and not some random propaganda! It totally gives one the required adrenaline rush. The standing ovation and accolades in the theaters is a proof of that.

I can't stress how much fun and on point is #Uri it is probably one of the best war movies made in the country since Border. Biggest winners of the film are @vickykaushal09 and #AdityaDhar especially Vicky, the boy is on FIRE!!!

I remember reading somewhere that the special forces, be it MARCOS or the Para SF, are allowed to grow beards as they serve in sensitive zones and are required to go undercover. So to merge in with everyone, they are permitted.

Just watched it today and it was amazing. I didn't find it jingoistic at all, except for that one "Kashmir and Unka Sar" dialogue there wasn't anything said. Even that was only to charge up his troops. I have no idea why the critics kept calling it jingoistic. Vicky was so superb as the CO. Poor guy looked like fish outta water after taking up the desk job.

Kudos to the entire cast and crew for such a fab movie 👏

Just witnessed one of the best war films of INDIAN cinema competing with international Standards. Tightly knitted and well crafted. Kudos to @AdityaDharFilms @RSVPMovies & the entire team of #URI. And @vickykaushal09 .. you are raw , brutal, intense and honest. What an actor

For me atleast, the jignoistic bit was the portrayal of the Pakistani officials. You can't portray them as tharki ans stupid just because they are from 'dushman desh'. No one is stupid or dumb. The whole portrayal of opposition as 'weak' in itself brings down the thrill element of the film.

This is where Border lacked too...Army is army no matter which country they belong to..Something like how they managed to show in Raazi..That balance needs to be there for it to be authentic!

EDIT: I am yet to watch the movie though...

Uri - The Surgical Strike is heading for huge success as it recorded excellent collections on Monday. The film was aided by a partial holiday in the country due to Makar Sankranti but even allowing for that the collections very good.

The film collected around 9-9.50 crore nett as per early estimates which has taken the business of the film to around the 45 crore nett. Even though it is a partial holiday and the collections will come down to normal levels tomorrow this is still enough to confirm the film is a HIT. the next few days and second Friday will tell if the film goes up a level.

The collections on Monday are higher than Friday and that also coming of a healthy first day number of 8.50 crore nett. The film looks on course for a minimum 60 crore nett first week unless there is a big drop tomorrow but its not a big holiday that the collections drop 50% the next day.
