yes it's the same. Merlin is supposed to be lived in around 1200 AD. According to myths he was supposed to be most powerful wizard. Myths have also mentioned Nicholas Flamel I think. JKR picked these characters from those myths.

It was the same for JKR too. Experience speaks!
I am generally not concerned about the romantic tracks in a non-romantic novel, but I have to say, Percy-Annabeth relation has totally hooked me.

You are absolutely correct about Jason and Percy being similar. I love how badass Thalia is really. She has no filter and isn't afraid to put anyone in their place. I'm kind of like her in real life. I'm very blunt and bossy. 😆

Jason is so nice. His and Piper's story is interesting too. I would've loved to meet him if he were a real person.😛
I like Thalia but she wasn't much there in this series. There was Reyna though and I loved her! Even if she was trying to hit on Percy. And Jason. Somehow she came as the most mature and sensible character to me.

I should do that but I've been watching so many Korean dramas lately that I've no time to read books. Oh, is it? No Percy or Ann's pov in the final book? I read the books like seven years ago so can't really remember much except the big picture. 😆

Wow...you must have been quite young. That's why you liked Leo's chattering in the 1st book. 😆 Have you read all the series Uncle Rick has come out with?

Btw after you finish this series, you might also want to check out Rick Riordan's Kane Chronicles. It's a take on Egyptian mythology. A good one time read. Off course, I love the Percy Jackson series more but the Egyptian one is pretty good too. It's shorter too...Only three books. :)

Only three..!? That's too short. Is the series finished? Only then will I read it. Otherwise I'm planning on Homer's Iliad or perhaps a Sherlock Holmes.

Was he a real person or a mythical person, real only in stories?

As far as I remember, JKR only used Merlin for one reason. "Merlin's Beard..!!"😆

it depends actually person to person. If you think magic is real then he was real. But if one think magic is myth then he is also a mythical person.

I actually googled it long back. Merlin, Nicholas Flamel and some Nostra guy who predicted Apocolypse and called a seer. I think last two are real person.

Okay, myth for me then.

Hey guys, does anyone here have a good suggestion for a fanfic that has a lot of James Sr.-Harry time. I would really like to read some father-son stories. Simi's new edits brought this up in my mind.

Oh interesting! I didn't realize JKR picked these characters based on ancient myths! I've actually never heard of NF before HP 😆 Btw is the show really interesting? I might give it a try. Am looking for a good show to watch because the next seasons of Game of Thrones and Stranger Things aren't going to released until the summer. 😆

It was the same for JKR too. Experience speaks! With JKR I don't think there was a drastic noticeable change in her writing. But with Rick the shift was more noticeable.
I am generally not concerned about the romantic tracks in a non-romantic novel, but I have to say, Percy-Annabeth relation has totally hooked me. Haha I'm a sucker for romance so I do love some romance in most of the books I read.

Jason is so nice. His and Piper's story is interesting too. I would've loved to meet him if he were a real person.😛 Yes, Jason is a really nice person. However, I don't think I ever warmed up to Jason and Piper's love story. 😆 Maybe because I was more invested in Perce and Ann's story. 😆

I like Thalia but she wasn't much there in this series. There was Reyna though and I loved her! Even if she was trying to hit on Percy. And Jason. Somehow she came as the most mature and sensible character to me. Oh yes! I remember being a little annoyed that Thalia wasn't in the series much after she became one of the hunters of Artemis. I used to love her and Percy's banter. Reyna definitely was the most mature out of them.

Wow...you must have been quite young. That's why you liked Leo's chattering in the 1st book. 😆 Have you read all the series Uncle Rick has come out with? Yea that's probably why. 😆 I have read the Greek and Egyptian series. I have also read the crossover short stories between Percy/Ann and Carter/Sadie (Kane Chronicles characters). Somehow I couldn't get into the Magnus Chase series much which is based on Norse mythology. There is another series called Trials of Apollo where the god Apollo is turned into a human by Zeus as a punishment. Haven't had the chance to read that one yet.

Only three..!? That's too short. Is the series finished? Only then will I read it. Otherwise I'm planning on Homer's Iliad or perhaps a Sherlock Holmes
I thought so too. But I guess the story doesn't require more than that. Yes it's completed. Oooh I remember reading Iliad in high school. It was good but also confusing. Sometimes, It was hard understanding old school English. Have you read Shakespeare?

And here I thought Norse was the same as Roman mythology.😆
Yes the short stories are good. I read the Demigod files and now I'm reading Luke's Diary. Gosh I loved that guy, negative character or not. JKR never made me love the negative characters or feel sad when they die. Rick wins here. Luke, Silena, Iapetus...
I would like to read Trials of Apollo, though I read somewhere Jason would die in that series
😒

Alright I'll read it then.
We never had to study Iliad or any non-Indian mythology in school. Nope, no Shakespeare. In school, we only had a couple of acts from Julias Caesar. His English doesn't even sound like English!😆 I hope I'll have better luck with The Iliad since it also has translations by some Robert Fagles guy.

Show is alright. Judge yourself. Till now, Merlin is an idiot. He is powerful but messes up a lot. I have watched 5 episodes only. There are 5 seasons and 65 episodes. Give it a try.

I like Arthur more. Both are cute.
