That is the problem I have with Hirani, he creates this pitiable downtrodden characters in every film of his .. This is such a in your face , I want the tears -- kind of tactic..
And every shot of his is always comical and rainbows and sunshine..
This is totally fine in other movies as its fiction..

But when you are making a biopic, get the facts right, show the person as how they are, don't skip out the dark details and don't twist everything to show the character is just an innocent puppy fallen into bad company..

I happy for Ranbir that this film was such a hit because inspite of being a good actor, he was going through a bad phase..

Awards wise , Ayushman deserves the awards.

ranbir's stardom? how many 350 crores movies ranbir kapoor has given? please tell me? has ranbir kapoor ever been a no.1 star like sanjay dutt? how many large controversies ranbir kapoor has gone through and still managed to sustain the stardom and a career ? the fact sanju could sustain a career after such huge allegations is proof enough of how loved he is!

are you claiming to know facts? you know shit all, you have zero knowledge yet have the audacity to judge a movie and claim it is all false, what are you sanjay dutt? how do u know the facts? u just are presuming that every character and every situation is false in the movie without even researching! U claimed that sanjay dutt's friend was "fake" u claimed drug addicts deserve no sympathy, why exactly? I pity people with such narrow minded thinking!

stop attacking me with your "Do your research" comments.

I have read about his case and am reading about it since many years.

I do not just rely on Wikipedia.

So you are saying 100% that Sanjay Dutt was an innocent guy, just caught in bad friends and ended up making bad decisions?

and who told you that I just rely on wikipedia? and it is fine to have an opinion, but what makes you claim that your opinion is in the majority? people loved the movie, thats why it has done huge business, so no i am sorry but you are nowhere near the majority, why do you act like everything that you are saying is a fact? I have also been reading about his case for years, I have done far more research than you have, I am not some pseudo intellectual who believes every kind of crap the media and critics feeds me, and what is your problem if he did drugs? what did he force you into having them? his life his decisions, what is your issue? and what makes you think you have more knowledge than vidhu vinod chopra/hirani and the supreme court regarding his involvement with the underworld? arrogant much?😕

If anyone deserves an award outta Sanju it's Paresh Rawal. Not Ranbir. And people really think Sanjay was just an innocent lamb fallen into bad company? Lmao. Y'all can make the same case for actual terrorists too. And he literally hobnobbed with the Dawood and gang. He thrived on knowing powerful people because it gave him a sense of control something he lacked all this life. I have sympathies for his addiction,for his mother's untimely death esp when he needed her the most. BUT NOTHING EXCUSES being friends with terrorists and keeping arms. Nope. He helped in a way.

and keeping arms equals to being part of bombay blasts? very good, please tell the same to the supreme court, and believe it or not everyone in bollywood was in contact with the underworld, they used to call for ransom or they used to produce their movies, why target only sanju? there is no proof of him being part of any terrorist activity, end of story. Why can't people believe he was innocent? what will the makers get out of lying? what will they achieve? he has already been acquitted from the terrorism charges, it is not like the movie was made to help him escape anything! Maybe people should use some common sense before they buy anything that a certain section of media sells to them!

Funny people are making fun of Ranveers Khilji - Ranbir was even more over the top in Sanju lol but because his fans are talking they're downplaying the whole thing.

Many portions of the film Ranbir looked like a joke even though it wasn't a comical scene

After TOH, I feel Amitabh deserves the award if not Ranbir. Ranveer's acting as Khilji was not at all good even though he tried hard to act cruel. Positive and comical roles suit him better and he does them well.
