I agree!!! If Shaheer was not Salim in DEM-SA, I doubt many who happen to be historical show buffs would really want to watch it. While watching the scenes, I felt as if I was watching a Hindi movie rather than a historical show. Even the fight sequences were more of the filmi types just similar to how the hero would fight with the villians. Gives me a feeling that the makers are just tryng to give it a contemporary look rather than opting for the authentic feels, looks & mannerisms & traits of the royalty in the Mughal Era. The individual actors who are portraying the roles of Salim, Jodha, Akbar , Ruquaiya begum etc are all brilliant in their scenes but somewhere I feel that there is something amiss while watching the show. Maybe because of the way the makers have taken forward the storyline completely distorting the story of Salim Anarkali as we know it. It is Shaheer with his towering screen presence & his excellent acting skills & voice modulation who is the saving grace of the show.

And yes, it would make more sense & be even more convincing to have the story told from Salim's point of view but looking at the way they are trying to make Anarkali into a heroine who keeps on saving her hero each time right from the childhood track, it seems like the makers do want to show their historical fiction or story from her point of view.

Yeah i have no idea about the story of the show till now. I just happened to see yesterday's episode. And Sha was like brilliant in every frame. I liked his scene with Meherzan, the actor who plays Mahabat. And his scene with Jodha was brilliant. The show is slow imo, as in what i saw yesterday wasnt very entertaining. But then i thought its coz i dont like historicals much. Sonarika was ok ok, i still think she doesnt fit the role and looks quite older for the character.

Eri's IS 😆 chalo theek hai, im glad i was proven wrong and i did feel later that i was being very judgemental and hypocritical. Coz im the one who always says not to expect anything from our favs and here i was expecting quite a lot from her. She just said what came to her mind without much thought, but i still think she needs to improve in IVs. I guess i felt bad because of my love and possessiveness for krpkab. Anyway.

Jahanvi, I agree with you regarding Sonarika. She looks too mature for the role of Anarkali. And I feel that her make up is also a tad too loud. I had previously watched her portraying the role of Parvati in the mythological show, Devon ke Dev -Mahadev. I loved that look of hers in the show. She looked so beautiful in it & was also impressive in the role of Parvati.. But here what little I saw of her didn't impress me both acting wise as well as looks wise. It could also be because her demeanour in the show is more like a royalty rather than of a kaneez that she is supposed to portray.
