CHAPTER 5 The next day Shaurya was having a headache so he decided to stay at home. Karuna had to go for a puja at her friend's place. Karuna told Mehek to look after him.
Shaurya was lying in his bed and Mehek came with a tray full of food. She offered it to him. He sat up and thanked her for the food. While he was eating the food Mehek bought some medicine along with water.
"Please have this after your food. She told him politely.
She was about to leave his room when Shaurya's phone started ringing.
"Mehek? Can you see who is it? " he asked her.
"Yes sure. She answered.
She saw the caller ID on his phone. The call was from a unknown number. "Shaurya it's a unknown number.
"You just pick it up and say that You are my assistant and That Shaurya sir is not available. He told Mehek.
Mehek brought the phone near to her ear. Before she could say anything she heard a familiar voice from the other side. She was schooled as well scared by hearing the voice.
"Hello! Hello! Shaurya...Bhai! It's me Ajay. Bhai my life is in danger. Please save me. Hello... I'm in Gujarat. Hello Bhai are you listening! When no response came from the other side Ajay cut the call.
"Mehek! Who was it? Shaurya got concerned on seeing her expression. He got up and went near her. "Who was it, Mehek? He shook her firmly to bring her back to her senses.
"Shaurya..! She started crying. " It was him... He is back. Mehek hugged him tightly out of fear. He tried to calm her down. He is back...it means Ajay..? Why did he call me?' Shaurya thought.
"Mehek calm down and tell me what he said. It is important for you to be strong at this moment. Shaurya made her sit down on the edge of the bed and sat down beside her.
"He..said that he was in Gujarat and he also said that he needed your help. Mehek told him while crying. Wait! Why does he need Shaurya's help? Is it that Shaurya is a bas person? And Shaurya will take me to him and hand me back to him? No!' She got scared even more on the mere thought of going back to him.
"Mehek we need to go there. Pack your stuff. Shaurya said and this statement of his really made her wonder if Shaurya wanted to help HER or Ajay.
"No ! I won't go. Mehek said.
"Mehek you have to come with me. It's important for you to be there.
"I will not go anywhere. She was adamant. She ran to her room and locked herself inside.
Shaurya kept banging the door of her room but to no avail. "Mehek please! Try to understand. It is as important for me to punish him as it is for you. He cried loudly.
Mehek was not responding to him so he got worried and decided to break the door and enter the room. When he entered her room he saw her lying on the floor with blood all around. She was holding a blade in her and there was a cut on her wrist. Shaurya froze on the scenario in front of him. The scenario infront of him reminded him of...Naina, his love. She too had committed suicide like this. "No! He screamed and went by her side. He picked her up. Tears started flowing from his eyes.
He failed to save Naina but he could not afford to loose Mehek. He rushed her to the hospital. The doctor saw Mehek. Her condition was serious. There had been a lot of blood loss. Shaurya was eager to meet her but he was not allowed to see her. He was told to wait outside. He sat outside in the hallway.

"Shaurya! He heard a sweet voice. He looked around to find that he was not in the hospital. He was at home. "Shaurya! He heard the voice again.
He found his beautiful Naina standing infront of him. "Naina he whispered slowly and cupped her face in his palms.
"Shaurya you have to save her. You have to fight for her and protect her. " Naina said.
"Who are you talking about, Naina? He asked.
"Mehek..
"Yes my love, I will fight for her and I will protect her. I promise.
"If possible please give her all the love that she deserves. Promise me?
"I...I...promise...I promise "

"Shaurie...Shaurie ! Where is Mehek? Karuna asked him. She came there as soon she got to know about Mehek.
"Maa! I am glad your are here. He cried hugging her tightly. " I was so scared.
He looked around to find himself in the hallway of the hospital. Suddenly the doctor came out of the icu "Doctor! How is Mehek? He asked him.
"She is critical. The cut is very deep. There had been a lot of blood loss and her immune system is very weak which is why it will take time for her to recover. The doctor told them.
Shaurya's wanted to see her as soon as possible. and went inside the room where she was lying unconscious. He sat beside her and looked at her calm face.
He held Mehek's hand in his and looked at it. It fits so nicely into his hands. He started thinking about the dream which he just had. "Mehek...I promise to protect you and to fight for you. He said he gently kissed her hand. "Mehek please wake up. He said in a low voice.

The next morning Mehek gained conscious and found Shaurya sleeping beside her holding her hand tightly. She realised that she was in the hospital.
"Shaurya! She said in a low voice.
Shaurya woke up looked at her. "Mehek! You are awake,finally. Shaurya called the doctor.
"She is fine now. Shaurya you can take her home. The doctor told him after examining her.
He came and sat beside her. "Have you been crying lately? Mehek asked him.
"No, not at all. He lied.
"You are lying. She said.
"Let's go home. He immediately changed the topic.
He payed the hospital bills and came to Mehek. She was still feeling very weak. The doctor told to take good care of her diet. Due to her weakness she was unable to walk.
Without asking for her permission he picked her up in his arms. She looked at him in surprise. He started walking towards the car and she rested her head on his chest. He was too close to her.
After they reached home Karuna Did Aarti of Mehek while she was still in his arms.
Shaurya took Mehek to her room and placed her on the bed. Some of her hair were covering her beautiful face and Shaurya pushed them aside with his hand. Mehek looked at him and they both share an eye lock.
"I am sorry Mehek. Shaurya said.
"For what?
"I don't know, I just felt like I need to say that. He told her. "Mehek I wanted to tell you something. He said to Mehek. "I know Ajay from a long time even before you met him. He was the reason why my wife committed suicide. Yes, my Naina. And I too want to make him pay for what he did to her. Please trust me. He told her about his wife and by the last three words he was in tears.
Mehek hugged him and tried to console him "I trust you Shaurya. She told him it he continued to cry. She planed his face and wiped away his tears. "Shaurya you are a brace man now stop crying and pack your stuff. We are going to Gujaratshe said.
"No Mehek. I can't take you along. You are not fine yet. Doctor told you to take rest. I will go alone. Shaurya told her.
"But... " no Mehek my decision is final. I will be leaving tomorrow . He said and left.

After some time Shaurya came to give medicine to Mehek. She was asleep so he did not wake her up. He kept the medicine at the side of the bed. He spared some time to look at her beautiful face. He touched her cheek with the back of his fingers , when he noticed her movement her lifted her hand. He was about to leave when Mehek held his hand and stopped him.
He turned behind and told her take her medicine. She took her medicine as ordered by him and he stood there watching her.
"Shaurya I will come along you. She said adamantly.
"Mehek I can't take you with me. You have to stay here. I will be back soon. Shaurya told her.
"Please! She pleaded.
"I am sorry Mehek. Shaurya said.

The next morning he had to leave early. He was getting ready in his room when Mehek entered his room.
"Are you leaving? Mehek asked with a pout.
"Yes.
"Will you not miss me? She asked in a cute tone. Which made him laugh.
"Nautanki he said.
"Oh hello mister. Just admit it you will miss me. She said. "Think once again if you want me to come with you.
"No. He said.
"Fine. I hate you. She told him and made an angry pout.
"He came near her " Take your medicine on time. Have proper meal and Don't try to come after me. He said and kissed her cheek gently.
She was surprised by his action and blushed hard. He left the room and went downstairs. Mehek looked at herself in the mirror. She was red as a tomato. She ran downstairs after him.
He was taking blessings from Karuna maa before leaving. She stood at the side and glared at him angrily. After taking blessing, Shaurya headed towards his car.
"Beta won't you bid goodbye to Mehek? Karuna said.
"I already did. He said with a grin on his face and left.
Karuna looked at Mehek's face which was even more red now.

After three days.
Shaurya had been searching for Ajay along with the co ordination of Gujarat police. They were unable to find him. He had had no contract with Mehek in the past three days. He was missing her. Everything seemed to be different. Whatever he did, he felt like he was with her. He decided to come back and give a surprise to Mehek.
On the other side Mehek was missing Him badly. She felt lonely in his big house. She was told by Karuna to take rest and she felt bored all day sitting in her room and Shaurya did not even call her once. He really didn't miss me?' Mehek thought.

Jo qubool kissi ne kiya hai It was a fine afternoon when Karuna and Mehek were chatting over some tea. They heard some noises outside their house.
The security guard came and told them that some ladies are willing to come inside. Karuna told him to let them in. She was shocked to see that it was Kanta along with the local Mahila Sangathan.
"Mehek! Mehek! Where is my daughter? Kanta cried loudly. Karuna could easily make out that it was all drama and she was acting. She was a selfish women.
Mehek came out from the big mansion. She was shocked to see Kanta Chachi , Mehek never thought that she would stoop so low. A bandage was tied on her wrist were she cut herself. Kanta saw that and rushed to hold her hand.
"Mehek what is this? Did these people try to kill you? I will not leave them. Kanta acted.
"Chachi leave my hand. Mehek retorted.
"Madam ji she said to the female inspector " they are keeping my daughter forcefully over here and they are even abusing her. See her hand. Kanta told the inspector.
"Don't worry Kantaji we will look into this matter. The inspector told.
"And don't forget to arrest that Shaurya Khanna. When I came to take my daughter back he kicked me out of his house. He is the one who brought my daughter her. Where is he Karunaji? Call your son Kanta told them.
"I am here. You looking for me. A voice came from behind. It was Shaurya.
"Shauryaa! Mehek ran and hugged him. He too hugged her tightly.
Now where did he come from? Wasn't he in Gujarat?' Kanta could see her plan failing.
He separated from her but held her protectively beside her. "So Kantaji, you are here to take your daughter. Just ask her if she wants to come with you. Shaurya told her.
"Of course she does. What do you mean? Dont ask useless questions Kanta said with a shaking voice.
"No I don't want to go with her. Mehek said. "I want to stay with Shaurya.
Everybody was shocked on her statement. "No you cannot stay with him while you are married to a another man. " Kanta told.
"She never got married to Ajay. Shaurya protected her.
So she told him everything!' Kanta thought.
"Neither is she married to you. You can't keep her with you. Kanta told.
"So this is the matter. Then I will marry her right now. He said and Mehek looked at him surprisingly.
"Shaurya! She tried to say something but he kept a finger on her lips. "Mehek,I love you. He said. His confession surprised her.
