Difficult to imagine the writing of this serial with what is being dished today.

I have not commented on the aspect of looks before this ever..
Simply becos when the serial began it was more like a motif...that looks are not paramount in love. As was the supposed class divide.. beyond that it was not to figure much. It was projected that Naina was plain Jane and Sam was Prince Charming but in love what matters is love in the eye of the beholder.

The writers have pushed this theme for the lack of imaginative writing beyond the basic motif. I don't know if this aspect figured heavily in Sumeet and Shashi Mittal's personal situation that they are making so many references to it. In whichever case... they have handled it poorly. What many missed in the narrative was Sam considered her plain Jane in the way he like many others would have imagined their partners to be yet when you fall in love... a lot of equations go out of the window. That scene of Naina walking into the restaurant for his bday party had that aspect written all over it. She was dressed in an unflattering dress yet Love is love.

The problem is after having established this aspect firmly... going back to this looks theme is totally stupid. Also the narrative can't justify it anymore literally either as everyone can add that even if looks are subjective, the ones commenting on Naina's looks are no great in that department. So what is sought to be achieved by this constant carping on looks is beyond me.

At some level people may compare a girl and guy on looks but any real comparison is absolutely subjective. No one can win this battle becos there is no battle to win.

Honestly I don't get where they are going with this track

Rose I came to post the link. Hitting a woman under any circumstance is an absolute no-no. I am beyond disgusted. He does not need to slap her to make a point or show he cares for her.

exactly rekha... When the show started, it was about how a rich, good looking boy falls for a simple looking girl... There was a time when he was too proud of his looks and thought he's too good for naina... He used to make fun of her looks and dressing... Bt he later on came to the realization that its never about looks... Its about that soul connection which he felt only with her... After that nothing else mattered to him but her... He even tolerated innumerable slaps a insults from rakesh for her... Now he has reached a point where his whole life revolves around her... Agar hoor pariyan bhi uske saamne aaye toh woh ek jhalak tak nahi dekhega. Nothing can change his feelings for her. .. So the significance that looks had in the past is not there anymore... Then why do they keep on bringing this looks thing over and again?... Its so irrevelevant now... So cvs should seriously stop harping on the same thing repeatedly... Better focus on other things... There are many things to show in this college track.

This show should be renamed...Un Dino ke thappad...baat baat pe thappad...ladies...seems our generation was thappad generation...what a way to portray the 90s ki ladke ladkiyan
