For a person who believes in marriage and its sacredness, mangalsutra means a lot. And she or he will not violate it whatever the situation is. But we cant say that everyone believes in marriage believe in MS too.
Adi was ready to lie to get the contract, so Zoya thought he would tie MS on her to get the contract too and she believes he does not care. And I agree with Adi understands the pureness of MS and what that thread means to Zoya. He was hesitant to do it, where he did not care about either Virani's or the contract, all he cared was for Zoya. He backed off just because it was Zoya who stood opposite him.
And I absolutely in love with how you connected the MS to the couple. They might have been cheated but they still respect the custom of marriage. They might take time to get tied to it again willingly but when they do they will respect the institutions with its full meaning.
