Everyone , each member of the family be it the vaidyas or The Guptas are wanting some kind of reassurance, given the pensive situation they find themselves in.

It's starting to eat now , helpless Shyam and Himani are showing remorse to see their affluently bought up having to go thru a forced life style change. I wouldn't be sleeping tonight if I were to be in Himani's or shyam's shoes.

But if one thinks about it, all the situation needs is a bit of resolve and change in few people. If only changes his methods and finds a balance between his altruism and paid professionalism, if only Avantika gets a job that will get her going, if only Chandoo is taught to embrace people a little more, if only Lakshmi learns to let go, if only the vaidya family sits down and put their resources and might to make the home get a makeover in both its looks and the way the household functions , it would be a perfect world.

These are not non addressable issues.., all they need is an mindset ... one step at a time. If any of these people were mean or bad , it's a different proposition then. Fortunately none of them are bad and so they start working from there to make it a better deal for everyone in this kind of setups.

A joint family cannot function like an establishment or like a monarchy especially where the eldest son has been married for 14 yrs and the youngest son married for four months. Between 14 yrs and 4 months there's at least a decade there and in the modern dictionary a generation gap is not even a decade in that sense.
If the sons together step up to make lives little more easier for the women at home, it's resolvable.

It will not be long before the younger kids like Yash step up the next decade or so. Something's got to give and it's got to give now !
