I dont think launching anyone is a problem. His money and he can do whatever with it. The issue was the way he shoved down Alia, Varun and Sid down audiences throats after a poor debut like SOTY. Ate up the chances of better actresses and actors like Ileana, Yami, Ayushman. Now dont give me bullshit like oh they are bland etc etc. Give these people a good director and tailor made films like Alia, Varun and Sid got and they would have shined more. In the long run both Yami and Ileana could not do much while Ayushman atleast managed to find his niche. Today Varun is claiming he was jealous of Ayushman for doing VD. But the truth is Varun would have never done something like VD as a debut like Ayushman did. Varun is doing a film like October as films like VD were successful DESPITE KJo's best attempts to push his own shit including his shit debutantes.

In shit fest SOTY I found Varun the best thing in the movie and he held himself well against big and good actors like Ram Kapoor & Rishi Kapoor. Unlike Alia & Sid they both were very bad, Alia is improving hersel but Sid has still not managed to improve.

Varun honestly seems like a nice guy and I mean he's given some decent performances but there's no denying that he has a tendancy to overact - I mean Dilwale anyone? Alia is decent acting-wise but if it was some other girl who'd been casted as Shanaya, she would have never gotten another chance to prove her mettle - there's no denying that privilege gave a Highway to Alia which allowed her to prove herself and she did and has been relatively consistent. I don't see people bashing Kjo for launching these two specifically at all but rather just the fact that people like him and Saif believe in the concept of eugenic and think lineage is above all in Bollywood.

It is other way round.
Alia and Varun get bashed because Kjo launched them😆.
KJO is a 16year old high school entitled mean girl trapped in the body of 40years old dude, hence people are not generally found of him.
Hence people associated with him get bashed.

Tbh varun/alia got noticed in their very first film cos of their natural chemistry between them ..they acted with ease...no wonder the movie got appreciations for varun/alia !

The mere fact that Karan gave Sid (outsider) the same opportunities and he failed means nepotism is nothing but whining 😆

He's not bashed for launching them, but for shoving them, mostly Alia, down everyone's throats and literally taking opportunities from others to establish Alia as an actress.
