Chapter 1 Suddenly Mehek jumped infront of his car to kill herself.
He applied the brakes just in the nick of time. Shaurya got down from the car to see her. It was raining and his clothes were soaked in water. He saw a beautiful figure standing in front of him not less than an angel. He was lost in the beauty in front of him. The raindrops falling on her face adorned it more. For a second he wished that he was the raindrop falling on her face. They share an intense eye lock. His blood boiled when he saw some scars on her body. He instantly knew that something's wrong with her and he should help her.
Mehek was very naive. She lacked worldly experiences and she had never talked to a stranger and neither did she know about laws or lawyers. After the death of her parents she was never sent to school. Kanta Chachi taught her that women are supposed to do household work only but she felt sad when she saw Nehal and Mohit leave for school. She felt inferior. She was told that she has to compromise with Ajay even if he beats her. She was not even aware of that she was a victim of domestic violence.
"Are you fine? Shaurya asked her.
"Yes she said and hugged herself. She was out for a long while now. She was shivering due to the cold weather.
Shaurya immediately removed his jacket and covered her.
"Are you in any trouble? He asked.
She wondered if she should tell him or not.
"Yes she said.
"Can I help you by any means? He asked her politely.
"Yes , I just ran from my husbands house. Her voice was cracking as she was on the verge of tears. Shaurya's heart just stopped when he heard the word husband'.
" He used to hit me and I don't like that so I ran from there. When I was running I heard a gunshot...but I didn't go back. My mother in law was there. I want to go back there but if I do he will kill me. Can you come along me? She asked for help and was crying.
"Yes, I definitely will. He said.
He made her sit in the car and she guided him to Ajay's house. When they reached there the gate was open and there were footsteps covered in blood. Mehek was just thinking about her mother in law. She was scared to hell. Shaurya held her hand to assure her. They proceeded in slowly. The house was dark. There was no electricity. Shaurya took out his phone and flashed its light and his eyes fell on a body lying down. He closed his eyes in disapproval. When mehek saw Pammi lying on the ground she rushed and hugged her. She patted on her cheeks trying to wake her up. Shaurya kept a hand on her shoulder. "She will not wake up. Leave her. He said with a painful voice. Being a lawyer he had solved many murder cases and had seen many dead bodies. He had seen many kins crying over the dead of someone close to them but he was never affected by them as much as he was by seeing her cry.
Shaurya searched the house to find Ajay. But he was gone. He called the police. They arrived in a while and started their investigation. Shaurya was talking to the police and Mehek was sitting on a chair thinking about Pammi. She regretted running from there. If she would have come back Thrn maybe she would have been able to save her. Seeing her cry Shaurya came near her. He sat down on his knees and took her hands in his.
"What's your name? He asked.
"My name is Mehek. She said.
"Very nice name, Mehek. He said and wiped of her tears.
"Where is your family? He asked.
She thought for a while if she told about her family he would send her back to them. " I don't have a family.
"I'm sorry. Mehek I can not leave you here alone. Since you do not have a family. You can come with me. He said.
"Okay. She said. She didn't think much before saying that. She was an innocent girl.
After a while he took her to his mansion. It was not very far from her house. It was very huge and she had never seen such big house.
"Do you live here alone ? She asked innocently.
"No I live with my family. " he answered.
They both enter the house. It was huge from inside. The hall was huge and well furnished. His servant Awara came to attend them.
"Welcome home, sir. He greeted him.
"Awara go and call Mom. I want her to meet mehek.
He went immediately. Mehek sat on the sofa while Shaurya poured a glass f water and offered it to her. "Thank you. She said.
Karuna came downstairs. Mehek stood up on seeing her. "Shaurya what happened to you and why are your clothes wet. Who is this girl with you?
"Ma relax! This is Mehek. My new client. I am fighting her case and she will be staying with us till the. Because she has no place to go.
Mehek dod not understand what he was saying but she didn't say anything. "Namaste! Aunty she greeted Karuna.
"Beta, you first go and change your clothes. You will get sick. She said to Mehek while caressing her face.
"Awara take her to the room next to mine and provide her with some fresh clothes. Shaurya said. Awara went with Mehek to show her the room.
"Shaurya what happened to her? Karuna asked.
" a lot of things ma . He said.
" her husband used to hit her and she tried to run away when her husband shot her Mother in law. She is very innocent and naive. She does not have any family.he said.
"Poor girl. She can stay with us as long as she wants.
"Yes. Now I'll go and change. I have to talk to her about the case.
He left for his room. He went and changed his clothes. Mehek had also changed her clothes. She was now wearing a simple and light saree with Karuna sent her. Shaurya went to meet her and took along a first aid kit.
When he entered the room she was sitting near the window and gazing out. He knocked at the door. "You can come in. She said.
He stepped in and went near her. "Come and sit down. He ordered. She sat down on the bed. He kneeled down in front of her and open the first aid kit.
"How many of these are there? He said while blowing onto one of her wounds on her arm. She closed her eyes due to the sensation.
"There are many. She said painfully.
He applied some medicine on cotton and placed it gently into it. "Now I want to tell you something. "
"What? She asked.
"I will be fighting your case. We will punish your husband for doing all this to you and what he did to you MIL.
"Ahh! She hissed in pain when he applied the medicine.
"And I need your help for that. Shaurya said.
"Will you help me?
"Yes I will she said in a low voice. She was not sure because she was very scared of Ajay.
Just then Awara knocked on the door with some food. He placed it on the table.
"Eat some food and get some sleep. Shaurya said to her and was about to leave.
"Thanks a lot for helping me. She voiced. He smiled back at her and left.

"What nonsense? She is not your daughter. She does not have any family. Just get lost from here. Shaurya said.
Mehek came there and saw him arguing with her. " CHACHI? She whispered.
