Teeku heard about the Loha Mandi office move first thing that morning. She had no idea Harit was planning that. Lakshmi was not happy one bit.

She did not blame Teeku for it but was fearing Harit would encounter danger.

Teeku began to cry

Teeku nodded in a daze

When she went to her room she texted Harit

"Are u buying a new office? she texted

He didn't respond almost until lunch

The neighborhood was seedy, the buildings were run down and the area was not gentrified

Avantika became even more nervous and unsure about the rapid development around her husband's work life

She had blindly entered into the marriage with only one goal in mind, Chandu

Just when she was falling for her husband, she was being awakened to the not so sophisticated work he did for a living

Her brothers traveled by Lexus and Mercs and worked in air conditioned corner offices with the latest technology and tools at their finger tips

Armed guards patrolled the factories and home day and night

Harit was UK educated and trained, looked the part but spoke rustic Hindi and sifted through smelly oily jaydaad ke kagaz and bhains ke karje ka parchha and ek acre soybean ke dastavej, police ki laathi maar ke fotoo.

She returned home no more relaxed or illuminated than she was that morning

She missed him intensely and craved for him. She didn't have a job, she spent the day thinking about him, unlike him

When ever she heard a man's voice in the hallway she thought he had returned home soon

It was indeed a cold awakening from all the senseless kissing last night

She called her mother distressed

"Ma I don't even like that neighborhood

"He has to go bache not you

"But I mean.. Teeku struggled to communicate that she was growing feelings for him and could not bear to see him endanger his life

"Where does Dad's lawyer have his office?

"Haha... three places in Roorkee, it's a big law firm from Delhi I think Himani chuckled

"Does Dad know anything about pro bono? Teeku asked

"I bet your husband knows Himani scoffed

"MAAA... I am serious

"I do talk to him... I asked him if he was moving to Loha Mandi

Teeku turned bright red. She knew he DID. She had scars to prove it

"How do u know? she said weakly

"Dad aur bhai dono, teeno ne investigate kiya hai, he has no history of abuse. Your Dad's cousin that lives in Knightsbridge, checked his UK history thoroughly through a private eye

"What did they find? Teeku smiled mischievously

"Not funny Teeku... He apparently had long hair, and hung out in pubs a lot

Teeku's heart raced

"Beard and vintage glasses and lounging by a pub?

Teeku rolled on her bed laughing hysterically

"You are quite OTT she said gasping

"I don't want you to grow up, and yet I do Himani choked

Teeku calmed down

"Ma... I feel out of place here she said sincerely

Himani's eyes sparkled as she displayed a long suppressed ray of light

Teeku's phone pinged with a quote from her mother, as she was in the shower getting ready for her dinner date

I guess Hairit might have to first time give in to his wife's demand of not moving to loha Mandi.
This will be first for him and her.
I want them to get done with discussion and enjoy their time together.
Looking forward to dinner date and reaction of Vaidya's about the date.

Loved it Nisha, especially the cradle song, kids grow at such rapid pace feel like holding on to them . Seeing the changes in my son in the past few months and the coming changes in my daughter ...hmm
