I think Roma's past hisab with Kalyani goes on like this-
1. Kalyani & Wheelchair man actually are a couple and Tara is their daughter. Tara's mother actually did break terribly when her husband left her & her daughter. But somehow she must have managed on her own.
2. Roma actually might be the other woman for whom Tara's father left his family. Or she might be working for Kalyani/Tara's father once. Tara's father seemed pretty aloof of Roma. And even Roma doesn't give a damn.
3. Somehow, this family found ways to get together but by then Roma could have committed some huge crime, put the entire blame on Kalyani, take her place in Tara-wheelchair man's life. Kalyani was sent to jail, Tara's father paralyzed by giving some medicines and Tara given medicines such that she goes insane & believes everything Roma fed in her mind. (She fed some other woman broke her family & Tara murdered her & began to see Roma as her mother as Roma wanted). And all this to get hold of entire property for Virat. Deep was already adopted but filled his mind with her ehsaans. She must be giving Tara-Deep-her husband drugs just like Arohi was being given. Because Roma told Deep, that his father is on wheelchair only because of Kalyani to instigate him. But the way Kalyani touched that man's feet seemed pretty genuine. So, it's clear Roma is the master strategist & Tara-Deep are just her puppets she plays whenever she likes.
4. Virat is actually Roma's son, Maya her actual sister & Prithvi her left hand. The way this family runs after money is something.
5. In her growing up years, Tara's behavior got out of hand & she turned to merciless killing. Deep was given the task to do Roma's dirty work on the name of ehsaan & good of the family. And to keep things under control, Roma devised plan to find someone to blame for Tara's crimes (like she herself did to Kalyani).
6. So, Arohi was framed for Tara's crimes. Both Kalyani-Arohi became strong after facing so much torture in jail. And now both want revenge from their enemies.
The story seems a lot like Chhal- Sheh aur Maat. There Ija was the nice woman but it was later revealed she was the thrill factor. She had been doing everything in her power to inherit the property of her daughter-in-law. For that she faked to unconditionally love her foster son over her own child & be a Devi for everyone in the family.
But of course, it's my guess. Story is likely to be entirely different from what I have guessed. Any more guesses are welcome as well.
