Raman hold ishita tight and said shaking her -ishita, ishita. But she didn't responded. He scooped her in his arms and took her downstairs almost running.
All helps ran to Raman seeing ishita hanging lifelessly in his arms.
Laajo-ishita memsahab ko kya hua sahab??she asked worriedly while all help surrounded Ishra.
Raman -dont know, what happened. Abhi tak toh thik thi, was talking with me, sharing her pain, suddenly she lost her conscious, driver se kaho gaadi nikalne. He screamed and all ran out with raman.
Soon Raman settled on the back seat with ishita while driver drove towards hospital.
Raman-jaldi chalao, ishita ishita, get up bachcha. He said caressing her cheek but she didn't responded making him more worried.
Soon they reached the hospital and Raman took ishita inside calling for doctor. Doctors came running hearing his voice and Raman said -my wife got unconscious, pata nahi kya ho gaya hai, u please check her. He said and doctors took her inside while Raman start waiting .
Sometime passed and doctor came out. Raman ran to him and asked -kya hua doctor, how is she. Usse hosh aaya??
Doc -nahi, aur hume kuch samajh mein bhi nahi aa raha, koi problem nahi hai, naa koi wound, naa high bp, kuch bhi samajh nahi aa raha, why she fainted.
Raman -woh, woh mental patient hai, she was telling me about her past and she suddenly felt pain in her head and then fainted.
Doc-oh, thanks for giving this information. Now we will be able to figure out her problem. He said and went inside telling the compounder to call the psychiatrist.
After sometime, another doctor came and went inside the room while Raman was trying to see her from the blinds but couldn't see her.
An hour passed, Raman was looking at the closed door waiting impatiently for the doctor to come out and give any information about her when the door got opened and doctor walked out of the room.
Raman went to him and said -kya hua doctor, how is she now. Aise achanak behosh kyun ho gayi. She is fine naa. Aap kuch bolte kyun nahi, my wife is fine naa. He asked in a go when doctor said -i can answer only if u stop questioning.
Raman -oh sorry, kaisi hai woh.
Doc-i can't say she is absolutely fine but for now she is good.
Raman -aise achanak behosh kyun ho gayi.
Doc -ur wife has went through a lot of shocks. Unhi shock mein se kuch unhe yaad aa gaya, jisse woh handle nahi kar paayi. Resulting her getting unconscious.basically she had a panic attack.
Raman -panic attack, toh kya har baar jab woh apna past yaad karegi aisa hi hoga.
Doc -no not exactly, Matlab hoga par har baar nahi. We have to stop this coz this is not good for her and for that we have to start her medication .unki treatment jald se jald shuru karni hogi to make her fine.
Raman -toh kijiye naa, what u r waiting for.
Doc-we want ur permission to go ahead in her treatment and the treatment is very costly also.
Raman -kitna bhi paisa lage, I want best for her. Bas usse thik kar dijiye.
Doc -aur yeh treatment bahut lamba chalega, matlab she has to treated slowly, it will take time. U have to be very patient with her, actually come with me, I have to talk with u regarding her. He said and took raman with him.
Raman settled in doctor's cabin and doctor said -who is she to u??
Raman -biwi hai woh meri.
Doc -dont get me wrong Mr bhalla, but kya aap unki mental condition jaante hue unse shaadi ki thi.
Raman -i don't want to answer this question and how does it make a difference. He said getting angry.
Doc-mr bhalla, please be patient and answer me. It has some relevance that's why I am asking this.
Raman look down and said -no, mujhe nahi pata tha. Mujhe woh sundar lagi thi and I got married to her. I got to know about her on our first night.
Doc -matlab aap unse pyaar nahi karte. He said looking at Raman.
Raman -I am not getting why r u even asking all this .
Doc -have patience Mr bhalla, answer my question then I will answer urs. Tell me, do u love her.
Raman -i don't know if I can call this as love, coz I don't know what love feels like but yes I do care for her. Mujhe parwah hai uski and I can't see her in pain. Woh mujhe muskurati hui achchi lagti hai and I want to see her happy always, now tell me why u r asking this. He said while a smile crept in his face remembering her smile.
Doc smiled seeing him smiling and said-actually we did multiple test of ur wife and got to that she has gone through many traumas, jiska illaaj jitna mehenga hai utna hi mushkil. Yeh koi bukhar nahi hai ki ek baar dawa diya and this will be fine. Actually mental disease aisi bimari hoti hai jiski koi prescribed medicine nahi hoti. Har patient ke liye alag medicine ki jarurat padti hai. Aap samajh rahe hai naa.
Raman nodded and said -haan, Main kuch kuch samajh raha hoon but not all.
Doc -actually Mr bhalla,main aapko kehna chahta hoon ki har mental patient ka ilaaj alag hota hai and it depends on the cause of her mental imbalance. Woh kis kaaran se pagal hue hai, yeh baat pata karna bahut jaruri hota hai, Unka ilaaj karne se pehle. And for knowing the reason behind their illness, we have to do many test and even hypnotise the patient again and again. Aur usse bhi badi baat hai sometime the patients r not at all ready for these treatments. Kuch toh darr se hospital chod kar bhaag jaaye hai.he was saying when Raman said -aap kehna kya chahti hai, tell me clearly.
Doc-main bas yeh kehna chahta hoon, that her treatment will be a long process and u have to be very patient through out the treatment. U know mr bhalla, India mein jyadatar mental patient kabhi thik nahi ho paate,u know why.
Raman nodded in no.
Doc-coz their family give up on them. Patient ki family Kahin naa Kahin yeh maan leti hai ki patient kabhi thik nahi hoga. Aur yahin negativity woh patient ke ander bhi daal dete hai. Aur phir dheere dheere patient bhi discourage ho jaata hai, uski puri progress ruk jaati hai aur woh inn hospitals ke kisi kamre mein kaid reh jaate hai. We have seen many mental patient dying just in loneliness, kuch toh treatment ke last stage mein aa kar dobara pagal ho jaate hai, just because their family left their side. Kyunki unki family bhi unhe paagal samjhne lagti hai, unhe paagal ki tarah treat karne lagti hai. And let me tell u, yahin toh point hota hai jahan yeh patient mentally unstable nahi balki mentally weak ho jaate hai. Unka akelapan har cheez har haavi ho jaata hai and then no medicine or treatment can pull them back. He said while his eyes turned moist saying this and Raman's eyes too get welled up hearing all this. He remembered Ishita's reaction when he called her mad. He felt sorry for his words and behaviour towards her.
Raman wiped the cores of his eyes and said -kabhi socha nahi tha, ki hamari thodi si rudeness, thodi si negligence ,unn par itna asar kar sakti hai.
Doc -it effect them more then u can think, aapka pyaar jitna unhe thik kar sakta hai, aapka gussa aur jidak utna hi beemar. More then medicine, mental patient needs love and care. That's why I have asked, do u love her??
Raman -my answer is same doctor, I don't know whether I love her or not. But one thing is sure that I will never leave her hand. Maine uske saath pehle hi bahut galat kiya hai, now I don't want to add to my mistake. Jitna bhi waqt lage, jitne bhi paise lage, kisi bhi doctor ko jarurat pade, tell me, I will call the specialist, just make her fine. I want to see her fine.
Doc -thats good Mr bhalla, but still I will say one thing, ki jaruri nahi ki aapko biwi thik hi ho jaaye, yes we will try our best but still god is the ultimate Doctor who can cure anyone.
Raman -just take away her pain, doctor. I can't see her crying.
Doc-hum to sirf unki bimari dur kar sakte hai, Unka dard toh sirf aapka pyaar dur kar sakta hai.
Raman -then i will make sure that she remains happy. He said and got up to go but turn and said -can I take her home.
Doc-she is under observation now, u can take her after she woke up. Waise if u want u can admit her here also.
Raman -no I don't want it. I will take her home.
Doc-thats good, I wanted to hear this only. I think she will be fine soon with ur love and care. He said smiling.
Raman smiled hearing this and said -can I see her??
Doc -yes, but before that sign these documents. Kuch undertakings hai, sign all this, hum aaj se hi unka treatment start kar dete hai. He said giving few docs to Raman.
Raman sat and read all and finally signed the document and gave the papers to the doctor. He checked it and told Raman to go. He went out to meet ishita.
Raman ask about Ishita's room and went inside. He saw her laying on the bed while few machines were attached to her. He sat next to her and start remembering the moments they spend together, starting with seeing her playing with kids, then marrying her instantly bringing her home, promising her to be with him always and to love her always. Then disowning her after knowing her truth and even after his continuous ruthless behaviour towards her, her pure love for him.
He remembered all and said caressing her face -tumhare saath itna bura kiya Maine, I broke u every second but still u love me this much. Kaise kar sakti ho mujhse itna pyaar, I don't deserve it. Yes ishita, Ek samay tha jab main sochta tha that u don't deserve me but sach toh yeh hai that I don't deserve u. I don't deserve ur selfless love, Main nahi hoon kaabil tumhare pyaar ka. I am sorry ishita, I am really sorry for doing all that with u. For hurting u always, for keeping u away from myself, for neglecting u, for every pain u went through because of me. Mujhe please maaf kar dena, I can't live without ur forgiveness. Please forgive me ishita, I am sorry. He said and kissed her temple softly while tears make way down his cheek.
