Chapter 6

There was a no sound in the room except for their rapid breaths. Maan listened hard for any sound from outside but there was none. He closed his eyes and relaxed against the door. He had wanted to speak to geet but not like this. Geet wriggled her hand, he let it go and put the rasmalai bag near the wall.

He moved and turned the light switch on, and looked at geet. He couldn't control his grin. She had an annoyed expression on her face and resembled a little annoyed kitten. He wanted to hold her and pet her, so she could relax back into her usual cuteness.

Geet took a step back as she saw him grin, baba ji what is wrong with this guy? Even in this situation, he is behaving like Colgate tooth paste advertisement model. Well, his teeth are more beautiful than average model, she thought to herself. Then, she closed her eyes and chided herself. Geet, you started again, don't be guilty anymore.

Maan watched his angel lost in thoughts and used the opportunity to stare at her to his heart's content. She looked so beautiful, those beautiful hair in a ponytail instead of the regular braid and that figure. He was going to be one blessed man.

Geet suddenly realised where he was looking and glared at him. Maan sheepishly looked away, who could blame him? He was no saint. But then, he realised that may be he was being too rude and forward. In his circle, girls liked if he stared at anyone of them but Geet was much more sheltered and gentle.

He went past her and grabbed a white bed sheet and handed it to her. Geet took it and wrapped it around herself. Maan turned his back to her, so that she could get more comfortable.

They didn't say anything to each other. Maan wanted to ask so many things from her but from where to start?

He cleared his throat and said,'' You don't need to worry, Dev will text me when he is ready to go back, so I will take you back to your room.''

There was no reply. He tried again,'' I am sorry about earlier, I shouldn't have looked at you like that, don't be scared. I don't have any bad intentions. In fact, I want to ask you something.'' He paused, again complete silence.

Maan continued,'' I want to be your life partner, do you wish same?'' Silence. He called her name,''Geet.'' No reply, he turned to find the room was empty. He looked bewildered around the room and then ran to open window.

Dev smiled at Naintara as he put the ring on her finger,'' It's a perfect fit.''

Naintara smiled shyly,'' It's perfect because you gave it to me.''

Dev looked at her with love,'' tara, you are really like a star in my life. Your brightness light up the darkness of sky of my life.''

Naintara looked into his eyes transfixed, tears in her eyes she said,''you mean it.''

Dev nodded,'' These are not empty words. Every word I say is truth.''

Naintara tried to control her happiness and asked shyly,'' Did you like my dress?''

Dev,'' It's beautiful.'' He moved her against the wall and leaned in,'' whenever I see you I am always amazed and I think.''

Naintara,'' Think what?''

Dev took her in his arms and looked out of the window into the night, the darkness outside reduced by the light bulb,'' I think, in fact I believe that you are.''

Naintara sighed happily,'' I am what.''

Dev suddenly saw a figure emerge from darkness wrapped in white with red blood everywhere, he shouted,''bhootni (ghost).''

Naintara shouted,'' What?''

The ghost disappeared back into the night.

Naintara's eyes filled with tears of anger this time shoved him away.

Dev was still shocked looking outside to notice,'' Naintara there was a ghost outside.''

Maan jumped down from pipe and landed on ground, where did geet disappear?

There was a buzzing sound, he took out his mobile, and it was dev. He was ready to go back. Maan waited for him to come outside. Dev looked shaken, he was looking around apprehensively. He texted maan again asking where are you?

Maan moved under the light so dev could see him too.

Dev ran to him.

Maan asked him,'' What happened?''

Dev, 'nothing.'' Naintara was angry at him and refused to believe him. May be he was mistaken. It could be a trick of light. Still he looked around in darkness for the ghost while Maan kept looking for Geet.

Both walked to main gate and dev asked Maan to see him to his car. Maan frowned, locked the door and walked down the dark alleys with Dev. He asked him,'' What happened? Why are you so scared?''.

Dev blushed with mortification,'' I just..I am so stupid. I thought I saw a ghost.'' He opened the car door and slid inside the seat.

Maan,'' Ghost?, what rubbish. Text me when you reach home.''

Dev nodded and started the car.

Maan walked back the dark alleys toward the Haunda haveli, this whole plan was total flop. He couldn't talk with Geet. But dev is so stupid, worrying about ghost at moment like these, he shook his head as he stealthily entered the haveli.

Where was geet though?, she had just vanished. He felt bit hurt, didn't she feel anything for him?

He went toward the wall intending to use the pipe to climb. However, he heard the noise and he followed the sound. He walked few feet until he came to corner. He stopped dead watching the ghost geet eating ras malai.

Wow .. What a beautiful night ... Loving this one alott .. Its realy fun to read this ss .. Now i can have a sound sleep 😳.. Maan checking out at geet and she caught him lol 😆 Omg he is soo sweet .. He even apologised for his behaviour and evn gave blanket to geet ... Poor maan he was expressing his feelings and geet didnt listened to him ... He is too fast .. He is frank i liked it ... He came to the point directly and to his bad luck there was no geet .. Dev and nayantaras part is hillarious .. When she asked him how does she look he saw shadow of geet and replied bootni .. Lol . Poor nt she did a lot of work to make herself presentable just for dev and he spoiled everything 😆 Hahaha .. Geet is too much .. At that Point of time she is eating ras malai ? Lol .. Hope maan doesnt get scared like dev and shout bhoot bhoot which again give a new reason for geet to trouble him .. 😆 waiting for next update 😳
