Chapter 2

Naintara stared at her.

Geet hugged Naintara, ' Congratulations di.''

Naintara hugged her back but she still stared at Geet in suspicion.

At that moment, amma ji came out and asked them to make tea for the guests.

Geet took the opportunity to run into the kitchen. On entering the kitchen, she felt she had found paradise. There were sweet boxes of different sizes packed with so many delicious mithai. Eagerly, she opened the first box for her favourite rasgulla but to her great disappointment there was no rasgulla. She checked all the boxes but no luck. Heartbroken she stared at the boxes in hatred. She looked up toward the ceiling and said,'' babaji, so many sweets but not a single rasgulla, why this kolaveri kolaveri di?''

At that moment, peeno the girl who worked at their home came in carrying sweet box from a sweet shop. Amma ji nodded at her,'' We can't serve guest with their own sweets. Peeno put these in a plate and put it on trolley.''

Peeno opened the box and there on the corner was Geet's favourite rasgulla,'' Thank you Baba ji.'' Geet said looking at rasgulla. When peeno tried to put rasgulla Geet tried to stop her but Amma ji,who was still in kitchen getting dry fruit and other things put into decorative plates, gave Geet a glare,'' Geet!''

Geet watched her rasgulla go in plate with sad eyes. Peeno took the trolley with the food on it to the drawing room. Geet thought about what to do. When it was time for Naintara to go in, Geet tagged along even though it was not needed. She wanted to know the faith of her rasgulla, she believed baba ji would protect her rasgulla for her.

Inside the drawing room, Maan was sitting quietly while elders were talking with each other. Dev kept staring at the open doorway waiting for his Naintara.

Maan kept his eyes on floor. He didn't wanted to come but how could he not come after convincing everyone for the wedding? He had been angry and embarrassed at the scene in his office but when he had calmed down, he had realised that even though that girl had lied about Maan but what she was saying was truth. Dev had promised to marry her, then abandoned her and she had come alone all the way to Delhi. She looked so innocent, it must have been hard for her and then Maan had insulted her so badly, if she had retaliated then it was fair.

He had gone home and spoken to his family and told them to not destroy the life of an innocent young girl. Aasha aunty had been angry not listening even to him, so he had told her that Naintara and her family were poor and Naintara would always stay under her control unlike a high society girl. So, she had agreed but now as everything was proceeding, those hazel eyes kept coming into his mind. What was he going to do? Stop the wedding?

There was a movement at the door. Dev suddenly got up and stood in respect. Now, Maan had to get up as well. He got up and looked straight. There she was in white. White was made for her. Those innocent eyes looked at Dev and then, at him and then lowered with shyness toward the table. She did not look elsewhere keeping her eyes on table. She was so shy, so pure, so innocent, she was like first sunlight, she...Maan stop,he angrily thought to himself.

Naintara's mother introduced them,'' My daughters Naintara and Geet. Naintara come take blessing from your elders.''

Maan looked at the scene with sadness, his eyes glued onto the white angel but she stayed there and the other girl moved forward and started to take blessing.

Maan watched shocked.

Geet smiled back at the cute aunty in pink who was looking at her like she was her long lost daughter.

She called Geet to sit beside her. With a cute smile on her face, she went to sit beside her.

Deepa started questioning her like she needed to make character certificate for Geet. How old she was? What she studied? Where she studied? So many questions. Geet replied with shy smile keeping her gaze lowered so she could keep her rasgulla in her full view, not noticing that someone as keeping her in his eyesight like she was his rasgulla.

Amma ji and brij shared a look between them when they saw Deepa questioning Geet.

Dev's family wanted to fix the wedding date and it was decided that after matching kundali, a date will be sought within next month. Amma ji seemed bit worried about preparations but everyone brushed her reasons aside.

Maan suddenly spoke to dar ji and requested that please allow Dev and Naintara to talk alone for few minutes. Brij frowned but dar ji allowed it, he told Geet to take Dev and Naintara to the garden which was right outside and everyone could see them from windows.

Maan came with Dev. They walked to the garden, Naintara and Dev stood talking to each other shyly. Geet watched them in interest. Suddenly, MSK spoke to her,'' You didn't tell me you were not Naintara.''

Geet looked at him surprised,'' You are talking to me?''

Maan,'' Yes.''

Geet looked at him and said,'' You started insulting me, I didn't wanted to tell you anything.''

She bent and broke a white rose and sniffed the scent. Maan looked at her, she raised her eyes to him. He stared at her losing his thought pattern. Geet in white with white rose in her hand was smiling at him. She is so beautiful.

Geet almost smirked, she thanked peeno in her heart who used this trick on her fiance every time she did something wrong. She asked him in low voice,'' What is your name?''

Maan spoke in trance,'' Maan.''

Geet,'' I am Geet. Nice to meet you.''

Maan,'' It's a pleasure to meet you.''

Geet,'' That check...''

Maan,'' I am sorry about the whole incidence. Please, don't return it. Keep the money. We are practically family now.''

Geet,'' wow actually, it's like this that I didn't tell anyone what happened, not even Naintara di. It would have hurt her. So, please, cover up for me. Pretend that it was a surprise we planned for jejju and di.''

Maan,'' Okay. Are you single?''

Geet,''What?''

Maan suddenly came back to his senses,'' No, I mean just asking generally.''

Geet looked down at her feet,' 'I am single, just telling generally.''

Maan smiled,'' I am single too, just telling you generally.''

Dev and Naintara who had finished their talk were waiting for them to finish, looking curious.

Maan looked at her a smile on his face, he told her,'' Lets talk some more general things next time.''

Geet looked up at him and then, looked away her cheeks pink.

After Dev and Maan left for inside, Naintara asked Geet,'' what was he saying?''

Geet,'' Nothing just general talk.''

She walked with Naintara back inside and noticed her rasgulla on plate, but next moment Maan bent and put the rasgulla in his mouth. Her heart shattered. She looked up at sky,''baba ji, how did you let this happen?''

Sooo cute. So Maan liked Geet at first sight and he gotta know she's not NT. Looks like he'll take this forward by the way he is smitten with her. Geet is damn adorable in this ff.

I am shocked that MSK convinced his bua for the marriage! but glad he did! its great he realised he that what they were doing was wrong! Gosh Geet will not leave that Rasgulla! Seems like Maan fell 4 Geet at first sight! he is happy she is Geet and not Naintara! enjoyed the general convo btwn Maaneet! hmm Maan is certainly direct and fast!! so when will these two no longer be single?? Maan ate the rasgulla! Poor Geet! update soon
