My Gains during 2017..
My biggest gain is my virtual family in the HBAS thread. From the time I wake up till I go to bed I am always in the company of my dear nieces and grandchildren every day, whose faces I have not seen nor their voices I have heard. But the year 2017 gave me an opportunity to meet a couple of my family members , Sandhya and Shyamala when I visited India.
What a wonderful group these Baisas form! I am so thankful to my dear
Shyamala, who introduced me to this lovely family in the India Forum a couple of
years ago..
Well, about my kith and kin here ...Barring a few I know almost all of them from
JA days..
Lashy the adorable.. My limited vocabulary doesn't do full justice to write what I feel about her.. She is like my daughter and at times like an elderly person to me, when clearing my doubts or giving me advice at proper times.. She is unceasingly active, doing multiple functions at the same time, like an entertainer skilfully juggling so many objects at the same time without dropping any of them. She juggles her duties as a wife, parent, author of a wonderful historical drama and so many other responsibilities..
Periyamma... when you said you're back with a bang, little did I know it was in ways that would move us to tears. I was and continue to be so touched by these words you've written about me. But not only what you've written above but all of the words that follow too - about the rest of the baisas. What a sweet sweet gesture!!! But you are no less - a poetess, entertainer, mother/grandma/g'grandma and so much more!
But as I've always said (and Vathsy said too) the teen Periyamma is my favouritest. I ASPIRE to become you when I grow older. I've said this to others to and will say it to you again. I want to be a free spirit, broad-minded, open to learning like you are - and love you so much. This is a relationship that goes beyond just the 'e' world of internet. It's much more than that! Thanks for giving us this opportunity to know you.
BinduPrasad , the punctual..
The sun may forget to rise, but Bindu will be present in the HBAS thread, wishing all of us a good morning.. She never fails to respond to the members' posts as and when she reads them.. And has developed a unique style of writing of her comments on the author's work. This year, we were not able drench in her good morning wishes for a few months due to some political disturbance happening in her place.
Lana , the all rounder..
I have come to know her during the HBAS era. A beautiful analyst, witty in her remarks, always alert, story writer, a poet who is always ready with the poem suited to any occasion, situation or picture.. Above all a compassionate teacher for her students who are so special..
I am yet to know how many other talents she has concealed in her.
Rose, the pleasing person..introduced by Lashy
I have never seen Rose taking a day off from the forum without proper reason. And her words of appreciation for comments, words of soothing to those who feel a bit low at times, the never failing reciprocation to the posts with immense sincerity, her art of writing... and so on and so forth..I admire her for these..
Kausi, the chirpy girl..
Always bubbling with enthusiasm, never missing a chance to come up with best poems and musings , though very brief in her reviews.. She believes in the saying, "Small is beautiful.".I love her challenge with Sandhya for Jalal!
Sandhya..the treasure chest..
An excellent poetess developed into a story writer, a good conversationalist, a clever story analyst and of course a strong rival to Kausi and her never-give up- attitude when it comes to the 'ownership' of Jalal!
Mitali, the silent performer..
Her talent for poetry writing is like the saying in Tamil, "Kudathilitta ViLakku pola.." (Like a lamp kept inside a pot.) Very calm and without any paraphernalia..
Manasi, the chef and the computer image generator!
I used to wonder how she managed to make 20,000 posts within a short period of 7 years! But I guessed the answer correctly after seeing her expressive emojis which substitute the usage of words..
Kuki..The smart one..
A very clever young girl, equipped with excellent knowledge of the computer, very sportive in her attitude, almost a pet to everyone in the HBAS family..
Bindu, 007.. the intelligent
This little one, along with Shagun is responsible for making me create our darling kutties, Baby and Babloo. I adopted Bindu and Shagun as my granddaughters on the New Year Day 2016..
Lavanya, the mature writer.
I know her from Shyamala aunty's JA (rerun) analysis thread.. She is an A- class poetess, a talented writer cum analyst, with a very lovable nature. I used to admire her takes on JA analyses as well as on the HBAS chapters. Her poem "Ajnabi" stands an example for her talent in the field..
Selvi, the wonderful photographer
I know her only recently introduced by HBAS..Every morning we log in the computer just to see Selvi's Landscape GIFs and the relevant poems composed by Lana, Vatsy, Sandhya and others. She is a person very quick to react to other members' posts..Very intelligent as well..
Vatsy, the mature minded.
Like Selvi, she is also a new addition to the list of my relatives in the HBAS family...Her calm and composed nature is revealed in her responses to the Baisas' comments in the thread..
Anindita: The poetess..
Very active and always comes ready with a Bengali poem with English translation to post at appropriate places..
Harshu, the Master of Musings..
She holds the highest record in her unique way of doing episode analysis of JA serial. She never missed any episode..Only she can make it lively by inserting appropriate emoticons at relevant places. Her analysis was like grandma's story telling , humor and seriousness combined ..I miss her presence now a days.
Others I miss in the thread are the cute and smart Adwi and my favorite little grand daughter Shagun..who are committed to their studies this year...
I thank all of you girls, for keeping me rejuvenated throughout the year that has passed.. And I hope to enjoy the same warmth in the coming year as well..
WISHING YOU A HAPPY NEW YEAR,
Sachu Patti
Periyamma/Aunty.
