"Presenting here the host of the night, Mr. Shaurya Khanna." The anchor announced. The spotlight felt on the handsome man clad in jet Black tuxedo wearing the charming smile. Everyone clapped. He was mingling with the business delegates when he felt a strong gaze of someone at his back. He felt uncomfortable as hell and that urge to know of the person who was staring at him made him turn back. His eyes met with her glassy ones. "Mehek." He barely could whisper. Mehek smiled through her tears and moved to him. "Congratulations on your SUCCESS Mr. Khanna." She said forwarding her hand for a shake. People looked at them. Tears threatened to part with her eyes but her will to not break in front of him made her to hold on them for some more time. Shaurya held her hand. She pulled it back and turned to leave. Shaurya was again called by some partner of his for some talk. He looked at her leaving. He wanted to run behind her but media people made it difficult for him. He had seen emptiness in those beautiful eyes today where he had always seen the stars shining. "I lost her." His head echoed.

Mehek took a cab to go back to her home. She wasn't crying. She wanted to hug her mother. "I need you Mumma. I badly need you." She said when two drops of tears spilled through the corner of her eyes. After a travel of half an hour she reached home. She told everyone that she was tired like hell and wanted to crash into bed as soon as possible. No one questioned as her reason seemed genuine. She latched the door behind and took out her mother's saree from the almirah and hugged it. She suppressed her sobs to not gain any questions from her family but tears couldn't be suppressed. She cried to sleep on the cold marbled floor.
