I'm horrified reading A Thousand Splendid Sun's. Taking a break from it. I mean, it's a good book. You want to turn pages. I made a mistake taking a break reading. Coz then you sit and reflect what you read and put it in context and man, I don't know what to feel.

A 15 year old forced to marry a 45 yo. Gets raped by him. Then abused coz she is unable to carry a child to term or give him the son he wants. He even forces her to eat rocks once that breaks her teeth. Then he allegedly tricks a 20 yo to marry him 20 years later coz he wants an attempt with a young girl to bear a son. It's a wonderful book. But reflecting on it, gives me shudders. Makes you realise what a secluded, shielded and protected life you live.

It's a good book but don't read it if you aren't mentally prepared for it. It's a bit emotionally exhausting. I dislike Khaled Hosseini for reasons but when I read it as a younger teen, I enjoyed it. Read something light/romantic instead of heavy stuff, you'll feel better. I wouldn't say "make or break" but it's true in its metaphorical sense I suppose.

The main problem with brand SKT shows is he brags too much about his work and one tends to get disappointed more than they should be when a product that was supposed to be groundbreaking comes out to be nonsensical instead of a product that people didn't think about.

The making ofs of Swastik shows are way interesting than the actual shows.

Also SKT tries to make his viewers undergo torturous moral science lessons in the name of entertainment by making his protagonists give long lectures about women empowerment, love and in case of Porus , deshbhakti. 🤢

He also claims that his versions of myth

/histos are hundred percent authentic but they are all hundred percent fake in reality.

His shows are also extremely poorly researched.

In Porus , they showed Kathakali dancers and Malaripayattu fighters performing in a north Indian kingdom In 320 BC😕

My hatred for Sid knows no bounds. 😆
