But there is some truth in her statement too. I have never seen this kind of protest during Devdas or Bajirao Mastani or even Ashoka..Even I will tell you one more extreme case which I observed personally.. When Tasleema's book came out and she got banished from Bangladesh and took shelter in India there was a huge huge protest held by Muslim community in the heartland of Kolkata. the schools the colleges were shut down early, the public transport stopped...But there was NO violence...I really dont think if there's ever such a situation now we can have peaceful protest by ANY community..

Also the thing that our princesses never danced, our queen never wore that, our culture, our this, our that --> have they ever read the medieval interpretations of our GODS? They will die in shame then...Why are these fringe elements acting like our moral protector ? If they have iota of trust in their culture then they should know history and culture is not really easily changeable.

Knowledge never has a dead end that it will stop with a movie. One should be rather thankful that this story is coming to forefront which will create awareness. When we see a historical movie/story, we try to gain knowledge around that, which is why there are multiple verses of Mahabharata or Ramayana (just to give an example). One show or a movie is not the ultimate story-telling.

But not having it released will create the door of everything. And a movie release cannot be compared with a harassment in real life. One is non-living entity, a form of art, another is existing living being. My POV. 😊

agree there's a censor board...but why stop people from protesting? may be these protests will motivate SLB to be more cautious while editing the movie before sending it to the censor board and may be censor board will be extra cautious abt Rajput sensibilities while reviewing this movie (due to these protests).

I will be more than happy if movie and tv serial makers become more serious in being historically accurate while making such movies & tv serials...we will have an additional source of improving our history knowledge than the same old boring history books... it's a proven fact that audio-visual aids are very effective in learning things...so it would be a great idea if movie & tv serials could be employed in creating awareness about India rich cultural & historical knowledge rather than showing some distorted fantasies of a creatively liberal mind...😛

These people are now threatening to behead SLB . This is no way a peaceful protest that one can agree with them. They are threatening to kill him and instigating and influencing the crowd to do so . The same gullible crowd that we fear will learn their history through a movie can also learn how to protect their pride by following such speeches. There is not a protest but terrorising people to do as and what they want them to do.
