One of the initial drafts had planned a grey lead for Omkara, who would pull him away from his brothers and thus, make him negative, starting the ShivKara clash.

I'm glad that initial draft was rejected.

People still complain Gauri is not grey enough - those people have no clue what an anti-heroine actually is😆. People speak so much rubbish.

Lmao, I'm glad it was rejected. Waise kunal has the acting chops to pull off negativer roles quite well. I think a positive character turning negative can make for a compelling story if there's a good enough motive, and the journey is shown. But the rejected draft is such a cliched crap that I'm glad it wasn't approved lol. Waise bhi is show me sab kuch bina sar pair k hota hain, I'm sure they would've made Omkara a cardboard cutout caricature villain had they tried it.😆

I know right! Gauri is grey. And the funny thing is that when she does grey things like fake a pregnancy people have problem with that. And its the same people who wanted a grey lead!

People don't know what they want actually. Or maybe they want to be Omkara's lead themselves, isliye unhe koi ladki nahi jachti: na Ishaana na Gauri.

I think those people wanted Svetlana with Omkara. Lmao. I mean what else do they really want? This girl has lied to, and manipulated Omkara, bulldozed his fckin car, faked a pregnancy, stabbed a guy. What do they want her to do now? Straight up go on a killing spree? 😆

If you can't be redeemed you're not grey you're dark - a villain. Hindi television is not at the medium of Western where things are redeemable past a certain extent - especially for a female lead, male lead is a different story. It's not like TVD where Caroline can kill all those witches but it's just character growth, so what exactly do people expect? I agree with Ananya, these people just want to be Omkara's heroine themselves😆.

I was rewatching today's epi. Shrenu is looking so so pretty in the new red dress. Bas woh ajeeb sa wig hata ke kuch acha de do plss...her hairdo in EBP looked so good. And dadi ke bday segment mein just dont want to talk abt her hair...good that the team has got such good looking cast to experiment with😆

To be fair, tvd is a terrible example, cause it was a supernatural show and caroline was a literal predator. Besides, i think that was meant to show her grey side as well(cause she had such a holier than thou attitude before). My girl tried to be the moral compass of the show, but she was incredibly flawed.

I don't think a lot of grey characters exist in hindi shows tbh. It's always Black and white. Idk if it's cause they're so heavily dramatized that all realism just flies out of the window, or if the writers or the audience just can't handle grey characters. But there's no balance here. But yeah, i agree with Ananya, they just wanted a cardboard cutout where they could just paste their own face. 😉

TBH I was initially gonna write Klaus or Dexter because they're both leads but not 'good' in any sense of the word, but I wanted a female and when I think of essentially good but will go to any extent for loved ones Caroline is the first name to come up - and she's loved for it. Hindi TV just can't handle it for females - the closest we get is shows like Naagin.
