I have no intention of getting into a word twisting argument bordering on personal attacks. I haven't said he doesn't have fans. If you really want a good movie from him and nothing else, you clearly shouldn't be bothered if someone else says that he has good script sense but not really a sizable hard-core fan base. You clearly took issue with that. So make up your mind.

If content is king only then will things change and tamasha of star system, their egos, overhyped and over priced stars will end. And audience will evolve.

Or else filmmakers are so creatively bankrupt that they would still be remaking yesteryear hits.

Or copy some gimmick superstar vehicle from South. 😆

Must admit Dangal breaking all records without any romance, item songs, hero-heroine drama, starry gimmicks is a landmark in history of Indian cinema. No other star even had IQ to sign or pull off such a film. Because for them their stardom matters more than content, craft or getting in skin of character.

Also just want to add that people always give credits to Aamir's script sense for his success..but i dont understand why many seasoned stars failed to pick up good script with soo much industry experience. One or two misses are acceptable. You cant always gauge it.
But Its part of the job to pick a good script, to trust in the director, to prepare well, to act to the best of your ability and to promote and market as your director/producer want. A script is imperative for a good movie. And only a good actor who is willing to devote time and energy to choose the right script ultimately come out as winner

Aamir Khan says, "Anyone who has the ability to fill seats gets a bigger share in the fee"
Written by Divya Goyal | Updated: October 12, 2017 16:00 IST

Aamir Khan says that the day actor who has the "ability to fill seats" deserves "bigger share in fees" regardless of their gender. Aamir Khan has given Bollywood its top money spinners such as Dangal, PK and 3 Idiots. Aamir, 52, who co-stars with Zaira Wasim in upcoming Secret Superstar, was asked whether he would be okay if his female co-actors got a bigger pay cheque than him. Speaking to news agency PTI, Aamir said: "Anyone who has the ability to fill seats gets a bigger share in the fee. So the day she (Zaira Wasim who debuted in Dangal) will be able to fill more seats then me I won't mind her getting a bigger paycheck than mine."

"And that is not going to be determined by her gender, it is the market that will determine that. As a producer, I will want her if she is benefiting my film, gender doesn't matter. I will give her value, from a purely economical point of view," said Aamir, who also co-produces most of the films he stars in. Aamir Khan also explained that every film has one or two members in the team, who become the point of attraction for the movie-goers. "That is what we describe as stardom. That could be Salim-Javed as writers and Rahman as a music director," he said.

Aamir Khan didn't stop at wage gap disparity between actors and actresses and extended the discourse to a film's creative and technical team. "I don't understand why is a cameraman's or an editor's work less important than an actor's. I strongly feel all the people in the creative team are contributing equally and should be paid equally. Everyone should be valued equally. There are only two people, who can be valued a little higher - the director and the writer," he said.

Aamir Khan told PTI that the only way to bring a change in the showbiz industry's pay design is with a change in society's attitude, which does not see "women as heroes." He said: "We don't see women as heroes. We start planting these thoughts in our heads since childhood. There has to be a paradigm shift in that. I am someone who strongly believes in equality whether you are man or a woman. But ultimately in the economics of cinema anyone who pulls people in will be paid higher. There is no question about it."

Aamir Khan is currently filming thugs Of Hindostan for Yash Raj Films, which also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh, Katrina Kaif and Amitabh Bachchan. The plot of the Vijay Krishna Acharya-directed film, will be from Fatima's character's point of view.

Absolutely Agree.
Movie is a business after all and the one who brings more money in gets to keep the bigger share.
I wish SRK had the same attitude too. I appreciate the fact that he has put female actor's name before his name during movies but that is not enough.

Aamir's name associated with any project brings certain kind of goodwill and value to the project like no other. We can all be assured good value to the money and time spent.

Of course, though I'm pretty sure it matches reality in this case.

Just look at the 2-3 Aamir fans here getting so happy to see some fans for Aamir in Turkey. Really? I didn't want to rain on their parade so I didn't comment but it was hilarious. 😆

Now you made me crack and I genuinely mean it
Because I get IF is reality for you..🤣

^You can't claim you only care about movies but get so salty about it being said that Aamir is not revered.

Why were his 2-3 fans here doing jumping jacks to see 20 fans for him in Turkey? Might as well admit you want to see him get that kind of attention which he usually doesn't. Though the Turkey thing mostly looked like a flop anyway. Which is what made the excitement even funnier. I didn't even comment on it then because I didn't care.

But now it seems appropriate to comment on it. 😆

What is stopping other stars from developing their script sense?

If Aamir can evolve from a Dil to Dangal then what stopped others?

Salman is son of Bollywood's most famous script writer. What stops him from developing a script sense?😆

SRK is in business for 25 years or so now. Who or what stopped him from developing and honing script sense?

It takes talent and hardwork to really gauge what audience wants, choose good scripts and make movies work commercially as well. No other actor has it.

Their fans can't blame anyone else except their icons who are Busier dancing at weddings, doing ads, attending award shows, parties or doing stage gigs to gang up against an actress at an award show instead of working on honing their craft and developing script sense.

Because everyone has different taste? Aamir's taste is matching the majority BW audience right now so good for him. He's figured out a way to please them. That doesn't automatically make it good or bad taste though. Just one that matches the desi audience's.

SRK's taste is different. He has said himself if he only did movies that he liked, nobody would watch them because his taste is totally different from what other people like. Otoh, Salman naturally likes masala type movies so that's what he chooses.

And everyone has different aims and goals too.

Salman was busy trying to escape the law and that meant giving a lot of time to Being Human charity stuff and cultivating a massy audience that would protect him.

SRK is busy building an empire. He cares way more about his extending his business interests and putting his time there.

Aamir doesn't commands a crazy fan following, but he has formed a "trust" among the neutral audience, that his movies are always worth their money and time.
This "trust" is what makes audience come to watch his movies and makes them ATHGs. There are many content movies of other actors, which get good WOM, but all don't become Blockbusters or highest grossers.

Aamir has stardom, because he can draw audience to theatres. Whether he has a big fan-following or not is a tricky question. Aamir doesn't has die-hard fans like Salman or SRK, who hero-worship them. People don't show interest in Aamir as an individual, but on his movies. But the neutral audience, (who are actually much more in number than these die-hard fans)trusts Aamir much more than Salman and SRK. Now whether you count this "neutral audience" as Aamir fans depends on your definition of fan.

Wese if Amir has so much of goodwill, why do his films witness such a gradual rise? if ppl are so sure that Amir woukd do a good movie only, why dio they wait for WOM before heading to theaters? Shouldnt ideally to quote others, his movie have earth sgattering openings since ppl wait for his movies so much and thus should flock to the theaters at first opportunity they get?😆
