Part 13
Ishra went inside bidding adieu to each other while Raman gave a air kiss to her before leaving ,She blushed and ran inside ,Raman too ruffled his hairs and went inside ,he took his cloths and went to washroom .Soon he got ready wearing a yellow kurta and white payjama ,while ladies has started gathering for his haldi . Ruhi too woke listening to the chaos and asked Raman " papa itni saari dadi ki friends kyun aayi hai savere savere( why somany dadi's friends have come in morning itself ).
Raman picked ruhi in his arms and spoke happily " because today is papa and ishita mamma's marriage ,so those aunty have come to do haldi ritual for papa ".
Ru- usmein kya hota hai .
R- in this ritual those aunties will rub all the haldi ,I mean turmeric in my face and body making me all yellow .
Ru- but you are already yellow as you are wearing yellow dress .
R- no sweety ,this is cloth na they will apply haldi on my skin .
Ru- but why do we have this ritual.
R- you know in olden days people don't have somany makeup things so they apply haldi as it is said that our skin will glow after applying haldi and now a days it has just turned to a ritual .
Ru- aap haldi lagaage ke beautiful papa banoge to ishita mamma kp bhi to sunder dikhna chahiye ,won't she apply haldi .
Raman laughed listening to her and spoke " not beautiful but handsome buddhu ,you papa will look handsome and your mamma is also going to apply haldi ."
Ru( excitedly)- sachchi .
R- humm muchchi .
Ru- matlab ,papa bhi yellow ,mamma bhi yellow .
R- humm .
Ru- should I go and check .
R- no at first you take bath and get ready .
Ru - ok papa .
Saying so ruhi went to washroom while Raman took out a yellow Top and denim hot pant for her ,soon she was done with her morning chores ,Raman make her ready and both the father daughter came out of the room getting fully ready .All smiled st their sight , mostly all the ladies were toshiji's friend ,that to Punjabi so they didn't asked much about the marriage and all rather they congratulated toshiji and got busy in teasing Raman while he was enjoying everything happily as he actually was happy getting married to ishita . All got busy in teasing Raman and toshiji went to kitchen to bring haldi while ruhi ran to iyer house to check ishita .She was sitting in middle while the ritual was about to start , ishita smiled fully on ruhis sight ,she opened her arms happily for ruhi .She happily ran to ishita and engulf herself in her embrace ,ishita kissed her cheeks and asked " kahan tha mera bachcha ".
Ru- I was sleeping ,abhi uthi .
I- did you had anything .
Ru- no ,dadi is busy in ritual .
She said making a puppy face ,ishita told mihika to bring something for ruhi to eat .Mihika went to kitchen while ruhi saw the haldi and spoke " pata hai mamma ,papa is also going to apply haldi ".
Ishita nodded ,when ruhi spoke " mamma main lagaaun ".
Amma listened this and spoke " why not ".
Ruhi took some haldi and rubbed in Ishita's cheek ,she then clapped happily while ishita smiled and pecked on her cheek ,ruhi then ran to bhalla house and applied the remaining haldi on Ramans face and spoke clapping " papa ne mamma ki haldi laga li" . All looked at her with questioning eyes while toshiji asked " ye kya bol rahi hai tu ruhi puttar".
Ruhi told that its the sane haldi which she applied to ishita ,all laughed listening to her as they got another reason to tease Raman " they told toshiji to be little strict as her son is getting colored in his wife's color ".
Toshiji spoke carelessly " rang jaane de dolly atleast I will be saved " .
All laughed listening to this whole Raman blushed .Then all got busy in haldi rituals of ishra while ruhi was keep on running between both the house ,she was happiest soul ,had got the opportunity to see the ritual of both the houses .
It was afternoon , every body was busy in doing something while Raman being the groom was free .He so wanted to talk to ishita and know about her whereabout ,thinking so he called her , she was with her sister and cousins when her phone rang ,she saw his number and her lips automatically curled into a beautiful smile . She got up from there and went to her room , bolted the door and spoke meekly " hello ".
R- hi ,took long time to pick my call ,don't wanted to talk to me .
I- no no nothing like that ,its just I was sitting with everybody .
R- how r you ?.
Ishita felt very contended thinking that he cares so much for her .She was still lost in her thoughts when he asked " ishita are you ok ".
I- humm .
R- what happened, why are you not responding ,don't wanted to talk to me .
I- nahi nahi nothing like that , its just I was stuck with everyone .
R- you are happy na .
I- humm .
R- I wanna see you .
I- no no we can't meet now you know ...
R(interrupting in mid )- yeah I know we are getting married today but I can see your pic na ,send me your pic ,I wanna see you .
I- my pic ?
R- nahi amma ki pic bhej de ,pagal I wanna see that you are happy or not to teri hi pic chahiye na .Now send it ,I m waiting .
I- ok .
Saying so she clicked her pic and send it to him ,he smiled fully on her sight, then called her and spoke " you know ishita you look too beautiful with this smile ,keep smiling always , will always keep you happy so that this beautiful smile doesn't fade ever ."
She felt so happy listening to him ,that's when his mother called him as now the time has come to get ready for marriage.
It was evening all got ready for their big day ,as the marriage was happening in jiffy it was happening with Tamil rituals ,ishita was getting ready in orange kanjivaram saree like a south Indian bride while Raman got ready and in copper color chanderi sherwani . Soon all got ready to go to hotel which was near to the society itself as the marriage was about to happen there only . Baraat reach there ,bhalla's were welcomed wholeheartedly then appa have a silk shirt and silk vesti to Raman ,he made faces looking to it and asked what's it .Appa told that as its Tamil marriage he has to wear this , Raman said he didn't know how to wear ,appa send bala to help him .He clicked his pic after wearing the vesti and send to it ishita along with his old pic in biz suit in which he was looking too rude and arrangan , with a note " dekh ishita what you have done to The Raman bhalla ,kya tha kya ho gaya ".
Ishita was sitting in her room ,filly ready waiting for her to be called when the message popped up ,she opened it and giggled after reading that ,then answered it with " thumps up " sign ,you are looking handsome and cute in this too".
Raman was on cloud nine reading this .
He smiled widely ,climbed the stage and started waiting for ishita ,Soon she was brought to the mandap and the marriage rituals started. Pandit ji start chanting mantras while ishra were sitting folding their hands looking down.
Pandit ji told them to exchange the Varmalas ,ishra got up and exchange the garlands, romi and mihir came to pick raman while bala picked ishita, after much teasing ishra finally exchanged the garlands. Ruhi clapped happily seeing this.
Then ishra sat facing each other ,ishita sat beside her parents ,panditji instructed ishita to keep her hand above Appa's hand, and chanted mantras and then told appa to give ishita's hand in Raman's.appa did the same ,completing the ritual of kanyadan ,ishita cried and noticed that her father's eyes were also moist .
Then Pandit ji called someone to tie the knot, Ruhi came in front and happily tied their gathbandhan ,Then pandit ji told Ishra to got up to take pheras, ishra got up to take pheras, Raman hold her hand and both start taking pheras around the sacred fire, after pheras panditji instructed Raman to fill her partition ,he took a pinch full of sindoor and was about to fill her partition when they heard " wah kya baat hai ".
All eyes traveled to the person and found it was prateek .He entered the place clapping loudly and spoke " what uncle wah ,you told that you are disowning your daughter and then doing her marriage with all rituals ".
Appa and amma were silent when some of iyers relative said " what are you saying ."
Prateek- yes ,i m right these people are cheater ,they fixed their daughter marriage with me then their daughter married this man , they told that they are disowning her but now happily getting her married to this man .
A lady asked from the crowd " but why you didn't married her .
P- because she is characterless at first she has affaire with this man and now getting married to him .
Raman hugged ishita close to his heart and spoke " if she had affair with me and even marrying with me only, then why you are having a problem .
P- I wanna know if she wanted to marry a divorcee ,father for girl then why did they accepted my alliance.
R- I think more than us, you better know about this .
P- what does that mean ,how can I know she was character...
R( showing him palm )- not a word against my wife ,she was not at fault but you were .You wanted to own her because she cannot bear child ,how inhuman of you people ,a girl who is already sad after knowing about her disability and instead of lessing her pain ,you people added more to her sorrow by mocking and badmouthing her .Arey isme iski kya galti hai ,if a person loose any of his organ ,hands legs eyes in any accident we feel pity on them then why we all mock the girl for being barren ,a disability in which she is not responsible in any manner .
All were silent when Raman spoke ask again " when a man is incapable of being father everybody tries to hide it then why its a public affair when a girl is barren . Let go of it ,I m not any saint or baba to give a preaching about this just wanted to tell you all ,I know ishita can't bear a child and I m perfectly ok with it ,so all of you please don't try to mock her again as I don't know about her but I love her a lot and will not tolerate anyone hurting her .we welcome you wholeheartedly for coming in our marriage do bless us as every blessing has its own significance ."
Many people supported Raman listening to him while some started badmouthing prateek and his mother for behaving like this with ishita ,seeing that they can't stop marriage rather all are supporting ishra ,they became silent .Raman instructed Panditji to continue while he told her to fill Ishita's partition ,Raman filled her sindoor and tied mangalsutra around her neck completing the marriage making her his forever .
