One other possibility popped up in mind. Gauri must have put up Arjun to write like that on the register knowing Om will believe it as she knows that Om is a good guy and that he would not end the relationship which will go no where (according to her as she thinks he stays with her because he feels guily) So instead of pulling it further she decided that this way she can go without him feeling guilty.
