Part 19
It was now the Christmas holidays and time for the gang to relax after a very long and tiring school term. They had decided that they were going to make the most of their holidays relaxing and spending time together promising not to ruin it by looking at books or school work. Anika had found this a little difficult, she still found time to read a book and design outfits and do some coursework but this didn't stop her from spending time with her favourite person...Shivaay. This wasn't very hard as Ram and Saakshi had now become very fond of Shivaay and liked his company as he spent most of his time at the Kapoor house. The gang had made plans to meet up at least for an hour each day, either at the mall or at someone's house; today Anika had invited them around to her house in the afternoon because she didn't feel like going out into the cold.
Anika was upstairs in her room sitting in her comfy armchair reading a book when someone opened the door. She hadn't noticed Shivaay walk in, he looked at her curled up on the armchair and smiled, and he walked around her and hugged her from the back.
Anika: Arrggh!! she gets up and starts hitting Shivaay with her book
Shivaay: Anika...stop...it's me... he holds her hands up
She looked at him stunned and apologetically when she realised it was him.
Anika: Shivaay? You scared me!...Don't ever do that again! Par tum yahan...yahan kya kar rahe ho? puts the book down and fixes her hair
Shivaay: I'm sorry! Aaj ke baad khabi nahi karunga... - hugs her
Anika: Kya kar rahe ho...mama ghar pe hain! pushing him away
Shivaay: That's where you're wrong... hugs her again ...she just left, she told me to tell you that she's going next door and then shopping with someone...
Anika hugs him back, for a while they stay that way then he moved away, Shivaay sat down on the armchair pulling Anika down with him. Just as they become comfortable wrapped in each other the doorbell rings.
Shivaay: Oh man... moans dropping his head on her shoulder
Anika: Chalo...baki sab hoge... smiling at his upset expression
Anika got up and they both went downstairs; she opened the door to see Rudra and Omkara standing there together and she lets them in.
Omkara: Hi Anika...
Anika: Hey... - letting them in
Rudra: Is anyone here yet...or just us?
Anika: Shivaay's here...
Omkara: Oh...so we turned up at the wrong time...
Anika hits him on the shoulder as they walked into the living room together; Shivaay was sitting down watching tv and looked up when they walked in the room.
Shivaay: Hey guys...
Rudra: Hey Shivaay...looks like we ruined your quality time with Anika...
Anika: Guys...please stop...
The boys made themselves comfortable and Shivaay made Anika sit next to him putting his arm around her but she tries to get away.
Anika: Shivaay...choro mujhe...
Shivaay: Kyon... - smiling slyly
Before she could say anything the doorbell rang once again, Anika gets up and goes to open it and the boys stay in the living room.
Omkara: Poor you...she's not as easy as she looks...
Shivaay: I know...but I love her the way she is... - smiles looking at the door waiting for her to come back
Rudra: This love stuff is so crap! How could you guys fall for it?
Omkara: Just wait till you find the right person then we'll ask you the same question...
Rudra: Never gonna happen...
Shivaay: We'll see...
At the same time the girls walked into the living room.
Gauri: Hey guys!! sits next to Omkara
Omkara: Hi babes!
Rudra: Hi...
Bhavya: So...what's the plan...what are we doing today?
Shivaay: Shall we watch a film?
Omkara: Yeah might as well...
Gauri: I know...the weather is so terrible I just feel like wrapping up in a blanket, sipping some warm coffee, watching a film and...
Omkara: And... - they look into each other's eyes and get lost
Bhavya: Okay...we get the idea... which makes them turn away and look around
Anika: You guys chose a film and I'll get the hot chocolate... - she gets up and is about to go into the kitchen ...the films are in the case in the drawer...sorry they're all old films...
Gauri: Its okay we'll choose something...
Anika: Okay...I'll just go and make some hot chocolate...
Shivaay: I'll help you... - gets up and follows her into the kitchen
In the kitchen Anika was stretching to get the mugs from the cupboard as Shivaay came behind her and puts one hand on her waist and the other on her stretched arm...
Anika: Shivaay...kya kar rahe ho?
Shivaay buries his face in her hair and mumbles something against the back of her neck which tickles her and her arm twitches against a mug which drops. She closed her eyes knowing that it was going to smash but the crashing sound didn't come; she opened her eyes to see the mug was in Shivaay's out stretched hand, she looked at him in awe.
Shivaay: Main khabi kuch thoot ne nahi deta... - against her ear
She smiled and moved away from him getting the coco, milk and sugar together knocking down any and everything as she went. Shivaay leaned against the long cupboard watching her as she moved around and smiled at her clumsiness. She made the hot chocolate and set them in the tray then went to Shivaay and stood in front of him with her hands on her hips with the cutest smile...
Anika: Hato...
Shivaay: That's not very nice... - making a face
Anika: Please move out of the way...
Shivaay: Much better... - steps away and she opens the cupboard door
She takes out a packet of marshmallows, opens the packet and puts them into a massive bowl. Shivaay comes close behind her, touching her arm by which she gets a shock, but he takes a marshmallow, throws it in his mouth, takes the bowl and walks back into the living room winking at her as he went. She smiled and followed him in with the tray of mugs.
Shivaay: Guys what are we watching? munching on more marshmallows
Omkara: Between Ghajini and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na...
Anika: Jaane Tu...
Shivaay: Ghajini...
Rudra: Yep Ghajini...
Girls: Jaane Tu...
Boys: Ghajini...
Gauri: Ok...guys stop...
Omkara: Toss... - takes out a coin ...girls...heads or tails?
Bhavya: Heads...
Omkara tosses the coin and its tails...they settle for Ghajini and get comfortable with their partners, Bhavya sat on her own on the armchair and Rudra on the floor, all sipping their hot chocolate and munching on marshmallows. They draw the curtains for extra effect and Anika snuggled closer to Shivaay as the movie begins.
During the movie there's parts where the girls cringe, as it's a very violent film. Anika can't help but hide her face in Shivaay's chest at times. They reach the middle of the film and there is a really interesting but gruesome part where a metal pole was smashed across the head of the lady and all the girls scream.
Bhavya: STOP! she turns the tv off ...I can't watch this...
Rudra: Hey...I was watching that... - turning the tv back on ...that was really interesting!
Anika: Please Rudra...let's not watch the rest of this... - crossing her arms and rubbing them ...I've got Goosebumps... Shivaay puts his arms around her
Gauri: Yeh...I don't think I can watch the rest of this either...
Omkara: But I was enjoying that...it was so good...
Bhavya: What rubbish!
Rudra: You're rubbish...
Bhavya: Look who's speaking!
Shivaay: Guys...guys...guys please... - stepping in between the two of them
At the same time the doorbell rang and Anika left the room to go and open the door. It was Siddharth and Malika.
Anika: Hi dii...hey jiju... - lets them in and hugs Malika
Malika: Hi Anika...how are you?
Anika: Main theek hoon...come in...jiju... - takes them through to the living room
Siddharth: Hey...what are you guys doing here?
Shivaay: Hi bro...we were just watching a film...join us...
Siddharth: Sure...what are we watching?
Rudra: Ghajini...
Bhavya: No we're not...
Omkara: Bas...ab tum dono phir se shuru mat kar...we won't finish it...we'll watch Jaane Tu...
They agreed and settled down, this time all separately, apart from Siddharth and Malika who snuggled up together on the single chair. After the film the gang left, Anika and Malika tidy up the place while Siddharth and Shivaay sit and talk generally. Then Saakshi returned home, they sat together and chatted for a while until Ram came home, later Shivaay, Siddharth and Malika leave.
