Also even though Shivaay has accepted Annika despite of her lack of NKK, as Gul once said, the main catch of their characters was that Shivaay was obsessed with NKK while Annika didnt have a surname. This theme would be pointless if Annika was suddenly shown turning out blue blooded.. and it was equally pointless of Shivaay being illegitimate.

Even if it was a lie by Pinky, the separation happened for a major reason. Shivaay paid a heavy price for his beliefs. The beliefs that he was trying to change for Annika and Annika paid a heavy price because of her insecurities. The insecurities that are still not revealed.

If this separation was due to a LIE, it doesnt make the whole thing futile. It DEEPENS the impact several times over.

Ok I always thought pinky was lying about the illigitmacy because of the way she behaved with shivaay. And she doesnt strike me as a selfless woman who would raise kamini's child with so much care. If she only wanted him for money or power then she would have raised him like kamini did with mahi under her power shivaay was almost dismissive of her in the beginning. Kamini never explicitly said she is shivaay's mother and i remember pinky giving kamini tadi one time ke i will show who is shivaays mom or something like that. It can go two ways either mahi is shivaays twin given to kamini as a compensation because her child died, with or without pinkys knowledge that will explain pinkys over possesiveness of shivaay. Or Anika was made to believe mahi is shivaays twin i think pinky saw an opening during the NT track for another plan when she saw NT drama instead of separating shivika brought them closer. Because both pinky and anika had gotten the DNA test done at that time and instead of faking one report she fakes two. See she was playing double game if Anika leaves herself then well and good but if she doesnt and tells shivaay then she can say ke look this girl faked a report to turn you against me.

👏👏👏 Aasthi, I totally agree with you. I was actually talking to someone the other day that after rewatching the old episodes recently, I realized that the separation was needed. And if Pinky did lie about the whole thing, it makes her crime much bigger. This in fact will bring Shivika closer, I hate to say it, but Gul was right somewhere, jab pyaar kiya hai toh intehaan dena pardega. Now, when they reunite they will be much stronger.
