I am active on Twitter and I know multiple TRP viewers who just stopped watching the show post separation. These are not even Shivika fans--just casual viewers. Majority of aunties and younger ppl signed on for Anika Shivaay, family dynamics, glamour of rich ppl and the OBros. Not regressive 90s mother in law crap where the evil woman ALWAYS wins.
Plus Pinky has no nuance anymore, she is out and out black. You cant have a black main character who is also a loving mother -- she has to be evil fully, or redeemed at some point--you cant have her being a loving mother and a decent sister in law and a family elder for 250 epis and suddenly turn her full on crazy evil. Hero Ka Mummy, Sab Se Yummy-- this is a true thing for the audience. They have a serious black to grey return to build there. They are lucky they have such a good actress who can bring the character back with some serious acting and a solid redemption arc.Iss se pehle--OMM and full reveal, and HEAVY promotion of same.
Families aur online/foreign hotstar viewers will NOT be returning until Pinky is revealed. We ppl here are addicts. The real audience SP cares about are channel flippers. SP has to not think this is a "Boom" surprise, something to hide for drama. Pinky reveal will not be a surprise. This is a turning point for the show, and will get them audience BACK to the high 2.9-3.0 days.
