it was Evening at 4,the neighbour womens are starts to come bhalla house for mehandi,dadi and thoshiji already prepared everything,ishita was also there,Dadi made ishita sat with the other womens and introduced her to all..ishita was like a silent spectacular smiled at each one,after that thr mehandi got started,a girl put a beautiful design on her soft palms..she asked ishita about his hisbands name and his mention make her remember the day events,she thinks how he denied to took fast for him?his question why she want to do it? all made her lost somewhere..and the girl make it as her shyness to tell her husbands name..
" Mera puthar ka Naam Raman hai...R likhna uski hatho mein" dadi said seeing everyone teasing her,but she was least interested to hear their teasings,her all thought was on one direction..why she kept fast for him?is it only for him?..she was confused with her own behaviour..
" dont think too much ishita..its not for raman..you are taking fast to respect dadi's decision nothing else...she tries to make herself believe.."but.is it true...her forehead had some lines of worry.."Kahi sach mein main yeh raman keliye tho nahi rekh rehi...but how is it possible,i dont love him..then why i kept fast for him..?ohhh god please clear my mind.i am so confused..ek tharaf main nahi chahthi ki main raman ki kareeb jaun..but dusri thraf main woh sab kuck kar rehi hun uskeliye jo ek patni apne pathi keliye karthi hai...kash koyi mujhe samjha patha,kash koyi meri halath samajh patha..."
she was lost in her though when the girl said..
" Difi hogeya,aap ek khande baath dho lena"
ishita: yah..ok saying she gets up and went to her room.
At 7.00 dadi and thoshiji comes to her room holding a big thall it was a blood red ghagra-choli with diamonds and rubies ornaments. After dressing up, she receives gifts from her mother in law..through she didnt forgive ishita but she is doing this for his son's sake...
"ishita tumhari mangalsuthra kaha hai?" dadi asked seeing ishitas neck empty..
ishita: woh mere pass hai..
dadi: pehana kyun nahi? chalo jaldi pehanlo..aaj bilkul suhagannki tharah ready hona hai tumhe..
ishita: ji dadi..saying she took her mangalsuthra from the cuboard and wear it..after that dadi asked her to put sindhoor on her maang,ishita was feeling little strange because she know she is married but after the day of their marriage she never put sindhoor..she took a pinch of sindhoor and put it on her maang,for an unknown reason she closed her eyes feeling like she is actually someones wife,she now belongs to someone..
" yeh lo yeh bhi pehan lo..tumhari pehala karwa chauth hai na" saying thoshiji comes forward with the traditional bangles,and she took ishitas hand to make her wear..while making her wear the bangles dadi noticed her dark colour of mehandi...dadi was actually very happy with ishita because she never thought a modern girl like her will complete the fast..dadi openes ishitas palm and look at it deeply then said..
" mera potha tumse bohoth pyar kartha hai..." ishita looks at dadi making a surprised yet confused face..
dadi: kehathe hai han mehandi ka rang acche se chad jave tho uska pathi usse bohoth pyaar kartha hai...
ishita was like how react on dadis words,she just stood their silent thinking only on dadi's words...after they left ishita sat on her bed and raised her palms to her face..her eyes automatically got stuck with the dark colour..
"Yeh sab sach hotha hai kya? kisi ka pyaar rang se kaise patha chalega..i don't think so Raman mujhse pyar kartha hai..she said this without thinking but she herself got a little restlessness on her own words...
" Nahi nahi..agar woh mujhse pyar nahi kartha hai tho..mere jane se ithna naraaz kyun hai woh?...Arhhh ishi ek din tu pakka pagal ho jaungi...pehale chalke rituals puri karo...thinking atlast she left her room to down..
ishta sat with the other womens for Evening pooja,the puja chowk is beautifully decorated and a small platform is prepared against a wall. On this, the image of Gauri Mata or Goddess Parvati is placed.dadi made ishita to cover her head with pallu..thoshiji gives her thaal which have sweets,sieve,water, and the necessery things for pooja...after that the elderly women starts to explain the karwa chauth story,ishita listened it very carefully,unknown to her she was enjoying all this..atlast the gauri pooja enda with remaining rituals then all ladies starts to wait for moon..
" oye thoshi..raman abhi thak nahi aye? dadi asked sensing ramans absense from hours..
thoshiji: Nahi mummiji,abhi thak nahi aya..shayad atha hi hoga
dadi: han teek hai..saying dadi went to terrace were the ladies waiting for the moon..she noticed ishita who was standing at a corner silently..
" ishita puthar,yehan kyun khada hai..bakki sab ke sath ake reho na" dadi said to ishita
ishita: No its ok dadi..i am fine here
dadi: kya hua? kuch parshan leg rehi ho tum..
ishita: kuch nahi dadi..bas ,main bhi chand ka wait kar rehi hun..
dadi: waise ishita..thank you
ishita: thank you kyun dadi?
dadi: mujhe nahi legtha tha tumhari jaisi modern ledki yeh vrat rekh payegi,lekin mere pothe keliye vrat rekh kar tumne mujhe galath sabith kardiya...
ishita: ismein thank you ki koyi bath nahi hai dadi,aapka maan tho rekhna hi tha mujhe...
dadi: accha Raman kithe hai..office se nahi aya abhi thak,aaj karwa chauth hai patha hai na usse..
ishita: woh shayad office mein busy hoga dadi..aaj mein bhi tho jaldi aageyi thi na
dadi: arey aise kaise aaj tera vrat hai,aur uska yehan hona bohoth zaroori hai
ishita:dont worry dadi woh aa jayega..aap jake rest jaro,main yehi wait karthi hun uska..
saying ishita send dadi from there,through she made dadi understand but deep inside she is feeling sad thinking Raman will come or not..
" Dadi ko tho samjhaliya maine,Lekin mujhe khud nahi patha raman ayega yah nahi..Raman ko patha tho hai ki main ne vrat rekha hai phir bhi late kyun ho reha hai..."
Meanwhile Raman finished his work and comes out from the cabin to go home,when he settled inside his car suddenly his face fell remembering ishita..
"i am sure khar mein ab karwa chauth ki pooja chal reha hoga,aur ishita ne mere liye vrat nahi rekha hai..agar main waha geya tho dadi aur maa ki sawalo ki jawab dena padega mujhe...i think i should go somewhere elsr,bath mein khar jaunga...saying he turns the wheels to the opposite direction of his home..,
on the other hand . The wait for the moon rise completed, and the moon is sighted, ishita was still standing at the same place,but for a change her eyes where on the gate expecting ramans arrival..
" Dekho dekho chand niklaya..."
one of the lady happily announced the moons arrival.all smiled hearing this and takes their place with their husbands..ishita watched all this standing there alone,she dont know why she kept the fast ,but seeing the other couples together she herself imagined raman and her at their place..
, The ladies starts to offer prayers to the moon.Thoshiji and the other observes the moon through a sieve and then looked at their respective husbands and they break their fast with thefirst sip of water and the first morsel of food from their husbands..
Aftet the poija all ladies starts to leave but ishita was still there waiting for raman,this time thoshiji comes to her and asked her to call raman..but dadi said she will call him...
Raman sitting on his car bonet parking it on the sea side,he was laying on it facing the moon..every moment he spent with ishota comes infront of his eyes like he is watching some movie..he so wanted to break her fast like other couples but here his wife herself didnt kept fast for him..he tried many ways to not think on it,to not show the disappointment in his face but it was impossible for him..
"Main kuyn usse pyaar karne lega hun,jiss pyar ka mujhe ummeed bhi nahi karna chahiye uska sapna kyun dekha maine,mujhe bhi man tha ki main apni biwi ke saath iss din ko manaun lekin woh bhi nahi ho paya,Now after some days she will leave me for always..kaise jeunga mein..,i want her for me,i want to love her...please matharani aap tho mayavi shakthi hai na,..please mujhe meri ishita dilado...he was talking to himself while dadi was trying continuously to call him,his phone was inside the car,he knows dadi will call him so he purposly put his phone on silent mode..
"yeh raman phone kyun nahi utta reha hai...bechari kithni der se wait kar rehi hai uss khothe ka... Agar pathi ka karthawya nibhana nahi atha hai tho shaadi hi kyun ki usne...ane do ab,ek kheech ke dunga mein.."
meanwhile on terrace ishita was standing there looking at the moon.."Aisa kya kiya maine,jo raman mujhse ithna naraaz hai..mera vrat thodne thak nahi aya..har roz khar jaldi aa jathe ho lekin aaj..aaj? i think he is doing this purposly...but mr.raman kumar bhalla..main bhi Naam ka hi sahi aapki biwi hun jab thak aap nahi aa jathe main yehi rehungi...aur phir yeh math sochna ki main aapko aise hi chod dunga..mujhe ithni der bhooka rekhne keliye,mujhe ithna wait karwane keliye badla zaroor lungi mein.."
it was night at 10 dadi comes to call ishita and asked her to come and rest for some time but she denied and sent dadi from there..till now she was ok with it but noe ishita starts to feel week,she felt like her knees are getting week and her eyes were seeinb only darkness..
"Raman kaha ho aap.." a whisper comes out from her mouth..
"ish...raman suddenly opens his eyes with a jerk and looks around only to find himself still on the beach..he check his watch and find it 11.00
"Ab thak tho sab sogeya hoga..khar chaltha hun" saying he gets up and get in to the car..
dadi and thoshiji were waiting for raman on the living area,..both ladies are now getting worried for him
thoshiji: patha nahi mera raman kaha reha geya,hai matharani mere bacche ko safe rekhna..patha nahi ithna kate kyun ho reha hai
dadi: tu uss kudi ke bare mein tho soch,jo bina khaye piye akele uska wait kar rehi hai
thoshiji: mujhe nahi legtha usne teek se vrat kiya hai bhi yah nahi..bas mera puthar ko kuch nahi hona chahiye
dadi: kya bol rehi hai tu thoshiji,uss bechari abhi thak tera puthar ka wait kar reha hai wahan..aur mujhe uspe poora bharoaa hai..
thoshiji: mujhe kuch nahi patha mummiji bas mere puthar ko mere pass lao...phone karo usse...
dadi: hazar bar phone kar chukki hun main...thats when the front door opened and raman comes inside the house,seeing thoshiji and dadi there he get surprised...seeing him thoshiji runs to him and asked
" puthar tu teek hai na...ithna late kyun ho geya.."
raman: maa woh kaam tha office mein
thoshiji: accha teek hai,kuch khaya nahi hoga na tumne,avo khana legathi hun mein..saying she took raman to the dinning table,seeing all this dadi gets angry..
dadi: arey wah thoshi,..raman tho aageya,aur usse khana bhi khilane ja rehi hai tu..par ek baath bhool geyi hai tu..kahu tho yasd dilaun?
raman looks at dadi confusingly while thoshiji asked
" kya hua mummiji?"
dadi: agar dono ke paas time hai tho suno..uppar ek kudi subhah se bhooka pyasa apne pathi ka indzaar kar rehi hai..
raman again look at dadi getting confused..hearing dadi thoshiji looks down remembering about ishita
dadi: sab pooja karke khar chsla geya,aur woh abhi tha waha akeli khadi hai..
raman was not getting what dadi is saying because he was not expecting ishita at the place..
thoshiji: sorry mummiji..raman tum pehale pooja karke avo..
raman: what pooja?
dadi:raman sach mein rk thappad legadungi main tumhe jobanjaan banne ki koshish ki tho..teri biwi ishita tumhara indzaar kar reha hai..jao jaldi
"what??" he asked shockingly.."aap..aapne bathaya kyun nahi mujhe..oh my god..ish..ishita..saying he runs to terrace looking for her..but what he see there made him scared to death..she was laying there unconsious...
" ishitaa..ishita..he called her name patting her face but she was not responding.."Maa..dadi" raman called thoshiji and dadi,they both comes running hearing his scream..Raman quickly took the water from her thall and splited it on her face..
" ishita..open your eyes baba..ishita" he called her again,atlast she slowy opend her eyes and looks at him..both their eyes met deeply into each other..
" Raman.,pani pila usse"
dadi give water to raman,he made ishita sat straight keeping her head on his chest and then made her drink water..while drinking she raised her eyes and looks at him...after that he made her eat some sweets,dadi said ishita to look at him through the sieve,still in that sitting position ishita looks at the moon through the sieve and then she looked at raman..both their eyes were staring each other like they want to talk many things..after that dadi said him to take her room..ishita was about to get up slowly but before that he took her in his arms and walks to their room...

ishita turns her face to other side avoiding his words..
raman: muh bherne se kuch nahi badalne wala..the truth is,Mrs.ishita raman kumar bhalla falling for her very own husband Mr.Raman kumar bhalla..yani ki main...so sweetheart just think about it...because confirmation bohoth zaroori hai...
.saying he winks 😉 at her then went to washroom leaving a open mouth ishita on bed...
