SCENE - X - EXTENDEDAround 7:00 amDownstairs, Nehal is finishing her last minute packing, she wasn't an early riser but she barely had a wink to sleep. Concentrated on, not just the reason for her non existential sleep, due to her obnoxiously loud cousin and his spouse besides her shared wall but on the other wall with her new founded friend from last night. Listening to his bitter truth, kind of made her, see him in a different spotlight. Poor Vicky for choosing a wrong partner but even she could relate to him by that fact.
Ajay Varma. That lying son of a Pammi. That asshole deserves for what he did. She thought venomously. Tucking her hair behind her ears, she sighs to herself,
No use to waste your thoughts on him, Nehal. He is gone now. He won't be back soon anyway. Looking around for any remaining stuff she might have forgotten, she zips up her bag before placing it by the doorway. She sits down on her bed and grabs her phone, just according to Vicky's idea she had already done the deed on the internet. She opens her Facebook to see a comment from Jiju's account, she logs out and sighs tiredly again.
Maine ghar jaa ke, kucch bhi nahi karna hai, sirf ghodey bechke sona hai. Bas. I am so tired. All because of that stupid Mohit Bhaiyya. Not a minute after, there's an urgent knocking on her door. She opens to find all set and ready Vicky with his own bags standing in front of her. He appeared very nervous, "Hi! You packed? Can I come in? There's something I would like to tell you about."
She felt concern for a moment by his tone so she opens the door wider, "Sure, come on in." He puts down his shoulder bag and a large carry-on by her luggage and walks in, running a nervous hand over his hair. She walks by him to unplug her charger, "So what's up? No good morning greetings or something like that? Is everything okay? Is it about Shruti?" He looks up at her at the last word. "No. I'm not here for her. I'm here for something else. I wanted to tell you last night but.." He trails off. There's an awkward silence. But she waits.
Patiently for him to speak first. After placing her phone charger in her purse, she sits down on the bed with her hands crossed in front of her, quietly regarding him as he literally paces a hole in the carpet of the hotel room.
He pauses his back and forth marching before taking a deep breath and turns to her, "IhavemadeabetwithMohit." He spoke so fast that whatever he said totally went sailing over her head.
"What??! I didn't understand what gibberish you're speaking. Why don't you try to say it slower this time?" He squeezed his eyes shut and spoke again, "I have made a bet with Mohit." He timidly peeks open his eyes to gouge her reaction. Blank expression is plain evident on her face. "Go ahead then. I'm listening." He clears his throat, "Okay. It's a bet about Bhaiyya and Bhabhi. On whether they will do it last night or not. You know..umm.. before their honeymoon. I'm on the not side. Mohit says they will do it." "How much?" She asks quietly. It took him a few seconds to realise what she was asking him.
"Uhh.. 4,000 rupees."
"I really don't know what to say about this. But what's with you and Mohit Bhaiyya?? First your divorce and now this bet."
"Actually, we first took the bet while dinner time. I told him about divorce later at night."
"Potato, Pateto. It's one and the same. You told him; end of the story. Now, what sort of help do you expect from me?" She asked him coming directly to the point. He couldn't stop himself to admire this Punjabi girl before him. He didn't even need to say another word as if she knew him for ages.
After calling out his name a few times with no replies, she finally threw a cushion in his face. He caught it in both of his hands. "
Oye! I'm talking to you, Drama queen! Not the walls and furniture. Where do you keep losing yourself?
Pata nahi kahaan hamesha khoye huye rehte ho.." He had to restrain himself for saying it out loud.
Sirf tum mein khoya hu Nehal. Nothing but into you and you only. He thinks to himself before apologising quickly for his absent mindness. "I need your help for me to know from Bhaiyya or Bhabhi if they did their 'thing' or not. Because yesterday we kind of pissed off Bhaiyya and he probably will skin us alive if we come in front of him. Please Nehal and don't let any of them know okay? If Bhaiyya knows about this bet then I'm sure I'll be sleeping in the back lawn with company of stars and blood sucking mosquitoes for a week!" She chewed her bottom lip thoughtfully before nodding slowly in agreement. He felt a bit relieved. "Don't worry. I will be stealthy with the asking. But you owe me."
"Anything you want."
"You sure?" She raises an eyebrow.
"I swear on my life. Anything." He lifts his hand up, in an oath.
"Well, we better get our pretty butts going on then, Drama queen." She grins at him. "And check your FB account. I have done something great just like someone told me to."
"I have a pretty butt?" He asks in astonishment.
"No. I was talking about mine. Yours is okay." "Thanks!" "You're welcome." ________________________________________
Mehek's loud scream carried right out of the closed bedroom door to the living room of the suite, where Shaurya was checking his phone and laughing at something funny in his seat on the sofa. He was typing and posting up a comment when he heard her scream. He was already dressed in a Brown blazer jacket on casual dark jeans and a Sky Blue button down shirt. He was packed and good to go but Mehek was still packing and getting ready inside. After hurrying inside the bedroom, he noticed that Mehek was staring, frozen with a comb in her hand, at her reflection in the large mirror on the dresser. She was wearing a Silver sequined Sky Blue straight suit with heavily embroidered dupatta resting on one of her shoulder. She was looking really pretty.
"Mehek?! What's with you and all the screaming this morning?
Pehle bhi chillayi thi aur abhi bhi chilla rahi ho. Kya hua? Is everything okay?" He asks walking closer towards her. She whips around to face him, her large brown eyes glaring accursedly, "No! It's not okay!
Yeh sab tumhari galti hai. This is all your fault Shaurya!!"
His eyes wides out in shock, "What? My fault? What did I do?"
"This!" She points towards her neck. His focus narrows down on a large purple reddish looking mark on her neck, by her collarbone. He realises what it was and grins at her, she wasn't impressed.
At all."Well that is a really nice hickey you're wearing. It looks good on you."
"You think this is funny? Because I'm not laughing! Look at it!! It's so hideous!" She nearly shrieks, brandishing her comb in front of him as a makeshift weapon.
"Mehek, calm down baby. This is just a mark, it will fade off eventually." He managed to dodge her comb before it could hit him, placing his hand on either of her shoulders and bends down to her eye level, "You can conceal it with makeup or cover it with your hair. It's no big deal."
"You are just saying that because you like this mark on me, which
you gave it to me last night." She huffs in annoyance.
He smiles at her before removing his blazer jacket. "W-What are y-you doing?" He pops off his shirt buttons and pulls out his collar, "You are not just the only victim here. Take a look." She saw a similar bite mark like hers, on the base of his neck right by his left shoulder. She remembers how 'accidentally' she bit him there last night. How did she not noticed that before?
Because you were distracted by his shirtless wall of pectoral muscles and hard washboard abs, that's why. her inner conscious told her in a duh tone. "See." He buttons up his shirt again, "It happens at spontaneous moments like last night for example. Mine happened and so did yours.
Hisaab barabar hua. Come on now, we are getting late. Everybody must be probably waiting for us downstairs." He wore his blazer again and leans down to peck her forehead.
She nods silently as she watches him leaving the room. She turns back to her reflection sighing out, grimacing wistfully back to her hickey and lets out another heavy sigh. She resumes to combing back her hair when he pokes back his head inside, "Oh and by the way, that hickey suits you. It screams out to the world that you're all mine." He winks cheekily at her and disappears before she could even say another word. Shaking her head and secretly smiling to herself, she picks up a nude foundation.
Such a crazy idiot.. But I wouldn't change you for the world. Waise bhi woh kehte hai na.. Tedha hai par mera hai.Pulling a small but heavy wheeled suitcase behind her, Mehek walks back to the living room. Shaurya's talking to the butler from yesterday evening. They simultaneously turn they heads towards her when they acknowledge her presence. "Let that be Mehek. They will deliver our stuff down by in the car." He tipped the butler handsomely and held out his hand for her, "
Chalein?". Shyly, she gives in and they walk out of the suite. They enter the elevator, standing side by side. He is engrossed in his phone, typing something while she remembers their kiss and how he held her hand before their brothers took off with him. Unconsciously, she lets out a delirious snort. His head snapped up at the sound and looks at her in confusion. "Why are you smiling?"
"Who says I'm smiling? No. I'm not smiling." She pressed her lips together from stopping herself from grinning wider. But to no avail. Come to think of it now, it was hilarious to see how both men, picked up his 6 foot frame, and carry him out like a log. He scowls at her, "Mehek, you
are smiling." That did it. She couldn't hold on much longer. She breaks down in crazed laughter and his surprised expression wasn't really helping her to calm down. She manages to gasp out between her giggles, "I'm sorry.. I can't help it... I was recalling how... Mohit and Vicky... carried you off last night. It was quite a.. sight to see." She continues with her laughter episode.
"Oh so you suddenly think that it's funny
now?" He frowns at her.
"Yes. But come on. You know it was." Calming down, she looks up at him, smiling again. "Yeah well I don't, alright? Because you have no freaking idea what I had to go through. It was awful!!" He rolls his eyes sarcastically, staring down hard at his phone. The doors ding open and he marches out the elevator without another glance at her.
Stupid Mehek! You pissed him off!! It's not even one day of your marriage and here you are having your first fight with him. She follows him out to the main lobby.
Chal yaar Mehek. Tujhe kucch toh karna hi hoga. Nahi toh Khadoos Kumar pura dinn gubbare ki tarah muh phulaaye ghumega. You have to do something Mehek. And fast. Come on. Think something... Think... A idea went off in her mind and she grins wide at the back of the retreating figure of her sulky husband, who's making his way towards the banquet hall. She opens her phone to see a reminding Facebook notification
I'll check it upstairs. Lekin pehle apna kaam toh pura kar lunn. Closing her phone back, she calls out to a passing female staff member, "Excuse me! Can you please deliver an urgent message for Mr. Shaurya Khanna?"

SCENE - XI
At the banquet hall
Everyone was present, in the hall for their morning breakfast. Everybody was eating and enjoying delicious food, all but two men, who stood behind two large antique vases in the corner. "Do you see him?" Vicky whispered, peeking out to find his older cousin brother anywhere in the hall. "No, not yet." Mohit whispered back. They didn't notice someone sneak up behind them, "What are you guys whispering about!?"
They both jumped a foot in the air, "Gaah!! Mother of--"
"What the fu--", Vicky trailed off at the sight of Nehal standing in front of them, her hands resting on her hips, with an eyebrow cocked upwards as if daring him to complete his profanity. "fu--funny way to scare us, Nehal. What are you doing here?" He asks awkwardly.
"I can ask you both the same. What are you doing here in this corner? Did you guys had your breakfast yet?"
"I barely have appetite for any food." Mohit mumbles out. "No, thank you. I'm on diet." Vicky politely declines.
She rolls her eyes at them, "Who are you looking for? Or should I say hiding from?? Is it from Jiju?" Their eyes widen at her as they squirm uneasily under her observing gaze. "No!" They both said in a quick unison.
"Oh look! It's Shaurya Jiju!" She exclaims towards the entrance. And they both dived wildly behind the vase, which could barely conceal them from the view. They brave a look, to see no Shaurya Jiju or Shaurya Bhaiyya in sight and then they hear Nehal laughing at them, "You guys are such pansies. Ek number ke fattu ho tum dono. Kya hua jo Jiju aa gayye toh? What's there to be scared of Jiju anyway?" They both glanced at each other, then back at her, "That's none of your business. Don't you have something else to do?" Mohit frowns at her. She shrugs, "Alrighty then. Suit yourself." And walks off, leaving them alone. But not for long.
They felt relatively calm but it was cut short when a large hand clamps down on each of their shoulder's. "Well, well, well. If it isn't my two straightforward brothers huh? Kaise ho tum dono nalayako? How are you two sweet bros of mine doing this morning?" Shaurya's deep menacing voice sounded from behind them. They swallowed nervously and turned to his looming frame. He looked down at them in a calm demeanour. It was very scary. Almost diabolic.
"H-Hello Jiju. How a-are y-you this m-morning?!" Mohit stuttered out his words, thinking about Shaurya's deadly threat from last night.
"Oh Hi Bhaiyya!" Vicky lets out a very manly squeak before clearing his throat, "How did you sleep last night?"
Wrong question.
Mohit gave him a death glare. He bit his own tongue at his dumb query. Shaurya glanced at both of them then smiled wickedly. "I slept really well. All thanks to you two." He tightened his hold on them, Mohit tried not to wince from pain and Vicky looked he was going to be sick.
"Did you two had something?" They shook their heads, "So why don't we get some breakfast? Hmm? Come on. Let's eat." He drags both reluctant men with him.
Mohit and Vicky, both pale-faced, stared down at the scrumptious delicacies in their plates and then at the person in front of them, who was wolfing down his own breakfast. Shaurya stopped in mid bite and gestures towards their untouched plates, "Didn't you guys have some food? Nashta nahi karna tum dono ko? Kal raat ko badi mehnat ki thi na tum dono ne mere liye. You guys must be famished from all the hard work from last night, am I right?"
They bow their heads shamefully at his words, "Jiju. We are really sorry about last night." "Yes, Bhaiyya. We are apologising for everything. The message, the kidnapping and all the laughing. We are truly sorry, maaf kar dona Bhaiyya." Shaurya puts down his fork, quietly studying them and then suddenly he starts snickering, "You two should see your faces right now. Shakal dekho tum dono ki. Aisa lagraha hai ki jaise tum dono ko apne nani yaad aagai ho." They looked at him like he had lost his mind, "Chill you guys, I'm not at all angry with you two. I was last night but not now. It's not like I'm getting married everyday and you two get to do it to me all over again!"
"But Bhaiyya--"
"No buts, Vicky. I have forgiven you two already. Now relax and finish your food. Nahi toh main sacch mein tum dono ki pitai kar dunga!" He said in a light tone, but his eyes were serious.
They both shared a look with each other and immediately starts gorging in their food. Sonal and Nehal came over their table, "Have you guys seen Mehek?" Mohit and Vicky paused in their mid-breakfast, before shaking their heads, "Bhabhi must be outside somewhere, maybe?" Vicky suggests with his mouth full. "Eww. That's just gross." Nehal scrunches up her nose in disgust, "But we've looked everywhere. I can't find her. Did she come down with you Jiju?" She asks. Shaurya immediately frowns, "Did you try her phone?" "She is not picking up." Sonal informed. He gets up, throwing down his napkin, "She did leave the suite with me. I came here for breakfast, I know she followed me and... " He is interrupted by a female hotel staff member, "Excuse me, Mr Shaurya Khanna?"
"Yes. That would be me." The small woman smiled politely and holds up a note.
"I have an urgent message from Mrs. Khanna." He immediately took it from her and read it what looked like in Mehek's handwriting.
Roses are Red,
Violets are Blue.
I won't come down.
Unless you find me soon.
With Love,
-- Mrs. Mehek Shaurya Khanna.
[DIV]His eyes narrows in understanding, he crumples the note in his hand before storming out of the hall without another word.
"Now where did
he go?" Nehal puzzles aloud.
"Beats me." Sonal shakes her head.
"Mehek! Open this stupid damn door!! Before I f**king break it down!
Darwaaza khol rahi ho ya main khud todd dunn?" He thuds his fists frantically on their suite door. The door opens and a familiar hand shots out, grabbing the front of his blazer and pulls him inside, the door slamming shut behind him. He turns around to glare at his wife, who is leaning her back against the large door, "What the hell is wrong with you Mehek?
Yeh sab kya bachpana hai? What's with the message huh?" He holds up the small note, "And why did you come up here?"
"Too many questions, darling. But I only have one answer.." She simpers at him in a sweet manner, "So that I can do this..." Grabbing the front lapels of his jacket, she pulls him down to her level, "What are you doi-- mmff." She presses her lips against his in a hard kiss. When the need for air becomes crucial, she finished with a final peck on his lips, before resting her back against the door again. Needless to say, he was miffed by her yet another bold action.
Again. She grins widely at him. "Also to properly apologise and tell you that I'm sorry for laughing at you back in the elevator. Honestly speaking, I was laughing with you, but you were just not laughing with me." She tells him but when he didn't reply, she adds more, "
Maaf kardo na Shaurya. Aise kyun dekh rahe ho? Ab kaan pakdu kya?" She even holds out her ears and for a bonus effect even pouts her lips. He couldn't believe how much adorable and cute she was being right now, besides actions speak loud than words. He steps closer, resting both of his palms flat on the door by either side of her, caging Mehek between him and the wood structure. "You are forgiven, Mrs Mehek Shaurya Khanna.
Chalo jao maine maaf kia. Lekin ek shart pe."
"
Kaisi shart?" She raises her eyebrows.
"That you will repeat such kinds' of apologies all the time because I'm loving it." She breathes out, "Okay. Done." With that reply, they kiss again to seal the deal. When they break away, he buries his nose in her hair, breathing in her unique scent, to calm down his raging hormones. Standing up straight, he shares a smile with her. "Alright then. Let's go. Before I give into my temptation and take you right here, right now." She blushes a furious red at his sincere words, " I still have my breakfast to finish before I got interrupted by your 'message'. So you hungry?"
She nods, "Very."
"Let's go then, baby." He takes her hand and they again make their way downstairs.
_______________________________
After finishing their breakfast, Mehek is leaving the banquet hall with the rest of both the family members as they make their way towards the main lobby and their departing vehicles when she hears someone call her from behind, "Mehek Di! Wait up!" Nehal calls out and Sonal follows her closely. Mehek stops and smiles at them, "Hey. How are you two this morning?" They glanced at each other and then back at her, "We could ask you the same Mehek. So how are you feeling this morning? Are you sore at some
unmentionable places?" Sonal whispers the last question in a conspiring manner. Mehek frowns at her in annoyance, "I would rather not repeat to what I told you two last night. But I am. And that is..
I am not telling you anything. Is that clear?", She hissed out quietly. "Aww come on Di! Tell us!" Nehal moans out, "Pretty please with the cherry on top?!"
"No Nehal! And that's final!"
"Wait! Di.. Please at least you can tell us if Jiju liked our gift or not!" Mehek paused for a moment, "He.. uhh.. He liked it alright.."
"And??" Sonal urges her to continue.
"He liked it so much that he managed to tear it in two. There! Happy?! Now stop bothering me with your stupid questions! I'm not telling you two anything else than that!"
She rotates her head to look for Shaurya that's when Sonal saw a faint mark on the base of her neck, an all too familiar mark which she would get it sometimes from Mohit from their own bedroom activities. "Umm, Mehek. Is that a hickey?" She questions quietly. Mehek's hand instinctively went to cover it up with her hair, she was kind of flustered from the fact that Sonal did manage to see it even though the makeup. She nods slightly; blushing embarrassed.
They were shocked at her response would be an understatement of the year. Nehal turns around without the other two girls noticing and sends a thumbs up signal to Vicky, who's standing with Shaurya and Mohit by the reception desk. Right according to their plan, if they did it then a thumbs up and down if they didn't. After seeing her signal he inclines his head in return and pats on Mohit's shoulder, he whispers to him.
"It's done." Mohit looks up at him sceptically, "You sure dude?"
Vicky nods positively "Yes."
Shaurya notices their secret conversation between them, "So what's the hot gossip boys?" He asks while checking his credit card payment for their one night stay at the Oberoi Amarvilas Hotel.
"Nothing Bhaiyya!" Vicky quickly replies.
"Then what's with all the whispering?"
"I was just telling him about.. uh.."
"He was telling me about his feelings." Mohit intervenes.
"Feelings?" Shaurya raises an eyebrow, "What feelings is Mohit talking about, Vicky?"
"Feeling of loosing, Bhaiyya. You know the unusual stuff lately." He mumbles. Thinking Vicky must be worrying about his divorce, Shaurya claps a hand on his back, "Don't worry lil bro. I totally understand. We are here for you, alright? You will get through these crazy times. Come on now cheer up and let's go home." He walks towards his Mehek, leaving both the men alone.
"Yes! I win!!
Oye hoye main jeet gaya!!" Mohit cheers out loud, fist pumping the air when Shaurya is safely out of their earshot. Vicky grimaces at his loss but smiles when he sees that Nehal's casually sauntering towards them, engrossed within her phone, fingers flying away on the screen furiously. He turns back to the triumphant face of Mohit Sharma.
"Congrats bro. Here is your winning amount." He removes his wallet from his back pocket and removes the two pink crisp 2000 rupee notes before handing it to him. Mohit almost snatches them from his hand before kissing them and placing them inside his own wallet. "Thank you, dude!! Who says that you can't make any money overnight? I did." He laughs at his own joke. There was a pinging notification sound from his phone but he ignores it.
"Hey, boys. What's up?" They both startle again at Nehal's voice. "Dear God! Why do you keep appearing out of thin air?
Darra deti hai yaar tu!" Mohit complains. She rolls her eyes, "Because you're too busy to see me approach you, stupid."
"Who you are calling stupid?" He growls at her younger cousin. She ignores his question, "Did you see my new Facebook post?" She shows them her phone. On her screen is a thumbnail of sleeping Mohit. His eyes comically widen at his own face in the screen. Whipping out his phone from his jeans pocket, Mohit opens his Facebook app and sees that she has tagged around 50 people in her video post with a tagline -
Pranking mah big bro! The ending will surprise you! LOL. He taps opens the video, in which he is sleeping in the bus while coming to Agra and Nehal tickled him in the face with her finger until he smacks himself awake. Apparently, over 20 people had already viewed it, with 15 shares. Many had posted various comments from their common friends and there was also a comment and likes each from KK and MS and Vicky's account. Even Sonal had commented a few minutes ago.
Karela King - 25 mins ago-
What a terrible way to wake up. This is superbly funny Saali Saheba. I'm so proud of you! @NS.
Vicky Khanna - 20 mins ago-
Every worthy seconds of laughter Nehal!! This is amazing treat and even more an awesome prank.. I totally agree with Bhaiyya @KK.Meera Sharma - 17 mins ago -
Aww! Poor Mohit.. Why are you sleeping in the first place? You know Nehal pranks you whenever possible.Nehal Sharma - 13 mins ago -
Thank you @KK. It takes enormous talent to pull it off Shaurya Jiju. @VK Thanks, Vicky! I know right? @MS. Oh, come on Mehek Di! I am the best-born prankster in the family. So why not make the best of the talented gift?Sonal Sharma - 8 mins ago -
Nehal! Oh my God! That's so rude! How can you prank Mohit without me?!Nehal Sharma - 2 mins ago -
I'm so sorry. Lekin iss baar jaane do. Agli baar aapko definitely bolungi. Okay Sonal Bhabhi? @SS.
Mohit fumes at his wife's comment, "What the... Even Sonal?! And dude! You too?!" He glares at him with a sour expression. "Why not? It's actually not that bad." Vicky shrugs. "
Not that bad?? It's worst. It's almost despicable. I'm a laughing stock on the freaking Internet!! Gifted talent, my foot!" He threw his free hand up in despair, he twists around to glare at his cousin sister, "Delete this post right now. Do you understand?" He furiously demands.
She gives him a cool cynical look, "No."
"No?"
"No." She firmly confirms.
"Why you little..." He almost launches himself on her, but Vicky pulls him back, "Calm down Mohit." "Why should I calm down? Look at what she did!" He shakes his phone then turns back to her, "What price will it take for you to remove this monstrosity?"
"5,000 rupees." He could only gape at her in disbelief, "You got to be f**king kidding me! How can I give you so much?" She shrugs nonchalantly, "Not my problem. You and your wife ruined my sleep with all your revolting bedroom noises in the middle of the night. I better get some compensation for my lost sleep. Because I have
barely had any sleep and that's all because of you." Pointing at him, she finishes in a sardonic tone.
"Why not Sonal? Hmm? Why me?"
"
Kyunki woh meri Bhabhi hai. And my best friend. I'm not getting her involved in all this matter."
"
Accha. Woh teri Bhabhi aur main kya kadduu??" He asks in a mocking tone. She shrugs again.
He pinches the bridge of his nose in frustration, "Fine. Make it 2000 rupees and finish this matter right here."
"Deal." She agrees with his request in case he changes his mind again, he lets out a tiresome sigh. "Here." He hands one of the notes that Vicky gave him, "Now delete that stupid thing."
She types something on her phone, "It's done." He walks away from both of them, grumbling curses about the Internet and stupid pranks. Nehal places her new income in her small sling purse and hi-fives Vicky, "Your idea worked yaar! Thank you so much!" "You are welcome, anytime dear.
Lekin dosti ka ek usool hota hai madam. No sorry no thank you." She rolls her eyes at his filmy dialogue, "Once a Drama Queen. Always a Drama Queen."
"Would you have it any other way?" He raises his eyebrows in question. She looks thoughtful for a moment then shakes her head, smiling at him, "I guess not. Shall we go now?"
"After you, milady." Spreading his arm, he spoke again in that British accent. She laughs at his antics as they make their way out of the hotel. She was liking this great comfort level of their new found friendship. It was quite a wonderful change between them.
I see that now you are liking him huh? I told you so he is not that bad. her inner conscious voiced out.
I don't think that I can even argue with that fact. she thinks to herself as she boards the almost full bus and he follows her.
Is there something wrong with me that I am seeing Vicky in a different way than before? she questions herself. There was no answer to that query. Only Time will tell.

SCENE - XIIAt the Khanna MansionAfter parting away from her Sharma family with happy tearful goodbyes and promise to visit them every week and vice versa, the Khanna family and both the wedded couple reached back to their large home. Shaurya and Mehek stood at the threshold as Karuna Maa did the traditional ritual of her
gruhapravesh. They crossed the threshold, while Mehek couldn't help but have a familiar sense of deja vu of repeating this again a few months back.
"
Meri bahu ko kisi ki nazar na laagey." She dabs a black kohl spot behind Mehek's ear, she smiles at Karuna and they both bent over to touch her feet. "
Aur main? Mujhe kucch nahi? Everything is all to Mehek. What about me?
Mera kya?" Shaurya complains lightly. Karuna pulls him down by his ear, "Oww.. Maa!!"
"
Tu toh chup hi kar. Aaya bada mera kya. Mujhe sab pata hai ki tu kitna pareshaan karta hai Mehek ko. Teri hi nazar se issey bacha rahi hu, samjha? Shaitaan kahi ka!" She let go of his ear and lightly smacks his shoulder. Mehek stifles her laughter behind her hand while Shaurya sulks at his mother's accuse, rubbing his sore ear. "I do not do that Maa. At least not all the time!" He frowns at his mother. "Alright fine. Now go and take rest. We have other ceremonies to finish this evening." When she sees Shaurya open his mouth in protest, "No excuses Shaurie. Now go." With that final instruction, Karuna Khanna leaves them alone in the hallway.
Avara comes out from the living room with a friendly smile, "Hello Sir. Hello, Bhabhi. Congratulations for your wedding. It's good to see you back." Mehek smiles back, "It's always good to see you too Avara Bhaiyya."
"
Kya woh aa gaya hai Avara?" Shaurya asks him.
"
Ji Sir. Aaj subah mein hi bhijwaya gaya tha Sir. Ussey maine aapke kamre mein rakkha hai." Shaurya nods in approval.
Mehek was perplexed by their conversation, "
Kaun aaya hai Shaurya?"
"You'll see. It's a surprise." He says with a mysterious twinkle in his eyes, " Let's go upstairs. He must be waiting for us."
There he goes again with all the surprises.
"He?" Now she was really confused. He only nods in return, "Yup. He." Avara takes their leave to go outside and get all the families luggage with the rest of the servants. Both of them make their way up the stairs towards Shaurya's room.
Corrections Mehek. It's not just his but yours too. But I wonder who is this he... As they approach their room, she could hear something from behind the closed door of the master bedroom. It was an all too known sound but she couldn't lay a finger on what made that noise. She looks up at him questioningly, he gestures her to open the door. Biting her bottom lip she holds and twists the handle, pushing it open. They enter the room.
There's a loud greet of barking from a furry mix of cream and ivory as it runs towards them from its seat near the large king size bed. With all the flopping ears and four large paws, it jumps on Shaurya. She is bewildered by the sight in front of her, honest to say. He kneels down to scratch the back of the dog's ears and glances up at her stunned form, "Do you know him Mehek? He's our--"
"TamatarLal." She breathes out finishing his sentence, staring down in awe and marvel to see the dog again after such a long time. He was so big and grown up already. "Come here and meet him." He tugs at her hand and she kneels right beside them, the dog turns his head to look at her. His large brown eyes immediately recognised her, his tail wagging wildly in greeting. Her vision blurred, "Hey babu. You remember me TamatarLal? I am.. I'm..." She was choking with overwhelming yet mixed feelings to find him here, right in front of her. She lays a hand on his head, he nuzzles his furry face into it.
The dam breaks and she burst out crying, Shaurya wraps his arm around her shoulder, squeezing it softly. "He's.. h-here, Shaurya. O-Our.. TamatarLal is.. h-here." She stutters through her tears. He inclines his head, with his own eyes wet from their emotional reunion with their long gone dog. She wipes her eyes and kisses the top of the canine's head, "I missed you so much, my sweetie." He lets out a low whining cry as if repeating the same sentiment as hers. "How did this happen?" Mehek asks Shaurya. He stood up making his way towards his study desk. Shrugging off his blazer, he uncuffs his sleeves and rolls them over his forearms, "I didn't have the heart to let him go. So I kept him at my farmhouse in Shimla, would visit him at weekends. I even used to show him your pictures so that he would always remember you. I was going to get him here sooner but now that's all in the past. So I brought him back for you. For us. I'm really sorry for keeping him away from you. But I hope that now you are happy Mehek." He rests his hands on the back of his chair, gazing out the window, not looking at her anymore. Honestly, he was feeling a little guilty at the fact that he had kept TL away from her all this time. She got up, making her way towards him, with TL following closely to her heels, "Shaurya. Look at me. Please." When he turns to her, she yanks him down again by the collar of his shirt, "I'm very much happy for this surprise. There's no need for you to be sorry. How can I thank you for this amazing gesture?" She asks almost seductively. His eyes keep switching between her large brown eyes and her plump lips, "However you want to, baby." He says huskily. She smiles before pressing her lips against his. He cages her voluptuous figure within his arms as they kiss deeper. By their feet, TamatarLal barks in approval. They break apart, breathless and laugh at each other than glance down at the excited dog. "Who's a good boy?" Mehek coos over TL. "Whom are you talking about? Him or me?" Shaurya asks jokingly. She smacks his chest, rolling her eyes at him. "You? A good boy? Please."
"Oh hello. I can be a good boy if I want to."
"Really? But who says that I
want you to be a good boy..??" She raises an eyebrow.
"Ohh.. Someone's being naughty and I'm liking it."
"Shut up!" She giggles.
Mehek sat, cross-legged against the headboard, on their large bed with TL resting his head lazily on one side of her lap, Shaurya placed his head with his eyes closed on the other side. She was gently singing their first dance song under her breath, "
Bol na halke halke.. Bol na halke halke.. Hoth se halke halke... Bolna halke.."
"
Kya bolun?" He asks quietly, with his eyes still shut. The corners of her lips curl up in a small smile, "Whatever is in your mind."
"You sure you want to know what's happening in my mind?" "I am. You can tell me." He opens his eyes as he gazes up in hers large ones. "I am thinking about how amazing you were last night. Also, how I can't wait to make love to you again tonight and wherever places possible, for the rest of our lives." He grins up at her, waggling his eyebrows suggestively. She blushes a little but doesn't waver from his eye contact. "Do you want to know what I'm thinking?" She asks after a few moments.
"Sure. I do. So what are you thinking, Mrs Khanna?" She leans down, stopping inches from his face, "Same as you. Because even I can't wait to have you in my arms again.
Naked." She whispers the last word softly.
His eyes turn darker than before at her sexy yet bold words but he manages to groan out, "
Sacchi?"
She smiles, "
Mucchi."
Instantly, he grabs the back of her neck and pulls her down for a soft kiss. He lets her go after a few moments.
"Why did you do that?" She questions him. "Because I wanted to. And also because I love you, Mehek." He shrugs and closed his eyes again, snuggling comfortably in her lap.
"I love you too, Shaurya." She caresses her hands on both, his and TL's heads before sighing in contentment. There's a knock on the door. The couple raised their heads at the intruder by the doorway.
"Am I disturbing you guys?" Vicky asks, TL scrambles from his position and runs over to meet him, "Hey champ, you are finally back!! How are you, my big boy?" He rubs the dog's head affectionately.
"What's up... Vicky bro?" Shaurya asks still laying down and not moving from his comfortable pillow that is Mehek's lap. "Nothing much Bhaiyya. I got an important call and now I have to leave for my appointment at the lawyer's office to sign those divorce papers."
"Will you be okay Vicky? Do you want me to come with you?" Shaurya asked sitting upright.
Vicky shook his head. "I'll go alone Bhaiyya. No problem. I just came in here to give you these brochures you asked for your honeymoon destinations. Check them out and let me know." Vicky hands him the brochures and the iPad for pictures and various other details to see. Mehek blushes faintly at the thought of honeymoon trip with Shaurya, "I hope they suffice for you. I have shortlisted various other places like there's Europe, Australia, Dubai and Mauritius. I have been practising to speak Spanish too!"
"Really?! Last time I remember that you could barely string two words together." His brother replied studying the destinations brochures.
"I have been taking lessons from my phone app. Hear me out.
Hola, Yo soy un hombre. Gracias..uhh... Mucho Gusto!"
"Impressive, lil bro. That was good, but it needs more work." Shaurya praised him. "I'm on it! Thanks, Bhaiyya!"
"Which places do you think is nice, Mehek?" He shows her various images on the iPad.
"You know Shaurya, I have never been to a beach before." Mehek says quietly, picking up a glossy pamphlet with a background picture of a long sunny beach. He turns his gaze at hers, "You wanna go to a beach?"
"Sure. Why not?"
"Vicky. Book a flight for two people for Mauritius by next week. And check if we can take TL too." Vicky nods obediently and turns to leave their room but pauses again, "Oh, umm.. one more thing. I actually kind of forgot to mention Bhaiyya, I had a talk with Mohit and Sonal during the journey. They also want to join in because they never had their honeymoon. And Nehal also wants to come if her parents allow her and I also would like to be there, you know to refresh a little from the boring routine. So it will be a flight booking for 6 people and 1 dog." Not waiting for his cousin brother to reply, he quickly dashes out the door, shutting it behind him.
"WHAT?!" Shaurya yells outrageous, "VICKY!! COME BACK HERE RIGHT NOW!! WHAT THE HELL YOU MEAN 6 PEOPLE??!" Vicky laughs as could hear his older brother's outburst even through the closed door, "I'll tell you later Bhaiyya!!" He hollers back, climbing down the stairs.
I can't wait for this holiday!! Hello, cool ocean and sunny beaches... Mauritius.. The Khannas and Sharmas are coming to you!! He grins to himself as he gets in his car and drives off to end an old phrase of his life to get into a fresh phrase.
And it's going to be a new start for everyone..._____________________________________
