Hey there all the lovely people
For me it was a soul searching episode, it had moments indescribable... please do watch today's episode. For life is not all play, sometimes it just hits you right in the face...
We girls grow up reading fairy tales one way or the other, some grow out of that phase early and realize the bitter truth that prince do not exist, one needs to be a princess for the self, it's up to the the girl to make a choice for herself to stand on her two feet, make choices for herself and be the queen. Then there are those who continue waiting for the prince, their life is almost picture perfect, everything happens at the right time and everything falls in place. There is no right or wrong, it's the circumstances, the individual choice, the character building it's all part of life, the errors and trials that makes us human, different from each other.
Kanak conveniently places the blame of intimacy on US in front of Massi, as she was helpless in dharm sankat whether to follow Massi' caution or to keep her husband happy. Kanak rejoices by herself that it's only been two days and how helpless she has made US, he can't even tell Massi about their relationship and has to bear scolding regarding it. US keeps his eyes lowered down while Massi scolds him, as he knows the moment he raise his eyes Massi would know the truth in it. He is the one in dharm sankat, whether to save himself or to protect his wife. Kanak gets him the punishment of eating boiled food for the day, little does she know that if she was a participant of the alleged joy they shared, she was to share his pain by eating boiled food too.
Kanak comes to her room and teases US regarding boiled food, US shouts at her in anger to stop, everything is a joke for her, boiled food is not an issue for him, he can eat it all his life, Kanak says it's impossible. US reprimands her for making a joke of marriage, she created an image in everyone mind today, marriage is about dharm, purity, but Kanak has presented it inappropriately.
Kanak gets her chance to have a say regarding Payal, she starts off beautifully... she doesn't know the play of words, but what she said was innocent, simple and truth about the reality, yes as a society we are drilled about the marriage since as far as I can remember, a girl has to leave no matter when and how, that image she makes up in her heart, it gets colored, then fades and gets colors again with passing time, it's not a picture just a figment of imagination/expectations, a faint description of what a girl would want in her husband. Kanak says husband and wife takes vachan during marriage, but what promises did aditya take, has US ever seen Payal crying under that portrait of her husband. Payal was given jewelry as a married woman, but does it matter as it's the husband that matters. -- it's true, all those who say, especially the char log, married woman is not dressed in saree, not wearing churra, not wearing this and that etc etc ... do these materialistic things even matter?? A girl needs a husband to be married not sola singhar. Marriage is a holy union of two individual and in payals case she is all alone.
US listens intently, with horror registering on his face, of the brutal reality but it's broken the moment Kanak calls out his dharm, pakhand. He pushes Kanak to the wall, he tires to pin her, she escapes and he grips her duppata and pulls her towards himself. They both stand together molding into each other, US teases a stray strand from her face, saying it's looks beautiful, he caresses a finger down her arm and back to her kamarbandh, he teases the pearls of it, in his husky tone says this has no right to stay this close to you and breaks the pearls. He leans in closer, and Kanak places her hand in between saying you promised and your dharm would break. That moment he lets go of her, backing away from her saying this is the difference between you and me, you use dharm as per your preference, but for me it's life, as it's discipline and patience. He as man has more control of himself and never thought about her inappropriately, because it was his dharm, and he knows his limits.
Payals case has been adjourned for another date... but atleast some words or thinking of Kanak might sink in US, maybe someday he would remember them.. it's said that words cut deeper than sword, maybe Kanak's word would put dent in US' armor. I know Kanak is childish, immature, but atleast today she confronted US, some conversation, not just a game anymore. Today she called him 'mera daku hero' she growing on to him, and he is affected by her... he is a stone molded by time, he also gets hurt when someone trips over him.
