But even I have always felt Shivaay hasn't accepted Annika completely.
The family reasoning you're giving here, if applied to this show; then if my mum said something really harsh or bad about my dad's family, she wouldn't be thrown out. People will be upset with her, angry with her, avoid her. They won't throw her out because this is her family. They have accepted her and will accept her even if her words aren't pleasing to hear.
