Lots of movies are based on UP/Bihar characters too but YRF/ Kjo types movies are mainly abt Punjab and Punjabi characters ( but BKD had UP characters )

But yes, North Indian characters/ background ( Punjab , Delhi , UP/ Bihar) dominate BW movies Not only Punjabis

North India has huge Hindi movie market ...South Indian ppl don't watch Hindi movies so why BW ppl will show them ?

Gujarati characters made their entry in movies after the hugely popular shows like kiyunki and some other shows ...

Abt Punjabi music ...BW will use whatever sells ...

I saw Balle Balle Shava Shava words in a Telugu song for Telugu ppl ...

Audience loves such beats

Bold- Gone are the days when South Indians didn't knew hindi or didn't watch hindi movies.😆 If that was the case then hindi movies and serials would have been banned in south india.😆

I have stayed in 3 south indian states and I have seen that lot of south Indians watch hindi movies. I didn't get Devdas movie ticket for one whole month in Chennai. All theatres were housefull.

Why shocked at me not being a Gujju?

Moving on to Gujju- Panju story, it'll be fun to see how Anu plays a Gujju girl. She has a chance to make it memorable as Geet of JWM.
It is high time we get a Gujju BW female icon.

Moh Moh Ke Dhaage, Hindi TV serial on Sony
Its a good show, interesting, background of a village in Gujrat, hero is the Mukhi of the village, hes 42 and his sister wants him to get married before she gets married and leaves the house, so they go bride hunting in Ahmedabad...heroine is matchmaker, shes 22 ...you have to watch it from the beginning to know what happened

Slightly off topic, but kangana is also playing a gujju in simran, which comes out in september. So as a gujju fan, I will take her gujju character as a representative of gujjus over whatever stereotypical shit imtiaz pulls out. But, here's to hoping this character actually is memorable like Geet from JWM, it's been a while since i have watched and enjoyed an imtiaz ali movie. 😆

I love that show except for that sister.
So far there is no stereotype Gujarati and the dialogues and accent is on point. Not just inserting few words here and there but proper Gujarati dialogues.
Really hope Imtiaz shows Anu as a normal Sejal ben and not the Gujarati version of bubby characters.

Well, Geet was totally OTT Punjabi girl and everybody loved her in JWM
Though I liked Shahid's character better than Geet
I dont mind Anu as a bubbly vivacious girl, she was cute as Akira

Are you Gujrati? I love the show's ambience, the colorful clothes, room decorations, village sets, everything looks authentic.. Ive lived in Gujrat in my teens so I have some idea abt the culture and people. I also know the language somewhat.
RamiBen is vicious but thats how TV Vamps are. they dont even stop at murder

^^ Yes Geet was the most loved Imtiaz character. If Anu is like that I won't mind it because Geet was still not those stereotypical just bubbly lively girl. Sh was a character on her own. I am more drawn towards Aditya though as I liked him a lot.
Anu as Shruti was more appealing to me as I didn't watch JTHJ completely so can't say much about Akira.

I am from Daman which is very near to Gujarat so we speak Gujju and it is almost same culture. I love the sets and everything as well. A lot more relatable and understand the language so its fun watching it. I hate Rami Ben and that creepy BF or husband whatever that guy is. But yes typical vamp.
