Shivaay is a trophy son for Pinky. He is successful and rich, and her only source of pride and importance in life (as pointed out by someone else also above).
Pinky has never received as much importance from either her husband or her son as Annika is receiving from Shivaay. Shivaay had in an earlier episode pointed out that his mother is only interested in the money he earns for her. Annika on the other hand loves Shivaay for himself, not for his money. I think subconsciously that could be a reason he favours his wife over his mother all the time.
Pinky has grown very jealous of Annika over time. It has been coming for a while now, and at the moment it has reached a crescendo. She really hates her right now. Her hatred for her is almost directly proportional to Shivaay's love for Annika. The more importance he gives her, the more Pinky detests her for it. She thinks Annika is getting the importance that Shivaay should be giving Pinky instead.
Someone needs to set this woman straight!
