Part 4- Yeh kya?
'Armaan, mujhe sandwiche khana hai!' said Ridhima in a whiny but commanding voice, strolling casually into his room wearing skinny blue jeans and a off shoulder white shirt with a blue tank top peeping out from beneath.
'Toh? Mein kya karoon?' said Armaan, keeping his gaze glued to the laptop screen. He was sitting on the bed, legs stretched before him.
'Armaan!' said Ridhima, tapping her foot and leaning on one leg, arms crossed.
'Ridhima..'said Armaan stripping his gaze from the screen in annoyance and staring at her, his voice trailed. She looked so fragile with her wet hair gently hanging off her bare shoulders, lips pink with gloss, earrings jingling, bright hazel eyes wide with annonyance, she was twinkling..no dipping in innocence.
'Armaan..mujhe sandwiche khana hai!' said Ridhima, smiling with an evil smile spreading across her face.
'Fine!' said Armaan, putting his laptop aside and getting up. Behind the mask of innocence was a devil, a pure devil.
'Okay, bathao kya chahiye sandwiche par!' said Armaan, opening the fridge.
'Ahem!' said Ridhima, clearing her throat.
'Kya?' he said, turning around and facing her.
She held out a frilly apron and her smile broadened.
He sighed with annoyance and reached for the apron and swiftly tied it around his waist, he hated himself and his stupid mouth! If only he hadn't said that he could do anything to repay her, then he wouldn't be her personal servant..more like slave for a whole two weeks!
'Okay..um mujhe mere sandwiche par cucumber chaiye, tomatoe, lettuce, mayonaise, onion, aur veggie patty! Bas!' said Ridhima, smiling naughtily.
'Bas? Itna kuch bol diya aur tum kathi ho ki bas!' said Armaan, giving her a murderous look and she just let out a simple laugh making him smile unknowingly.
He begin slicing thin slices of cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions. Armaan got the veggie patty from the freezer and put it in the microwave for a couple minutes as she sat on the counter and watched, rolling her tongue inside her mouth. He got the bread and placed the lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers on one piece. Got the mayonaise and squeezed some on the other piece. Spreading it out with a knife he got some on his hands. He went and got the patty and put it on the bread. Assembled the pieces and held out the plate for her. He moved his hair out of his eyes and got some mayonaise on his face. She stared at him with a empty look, difficult to do because of his funny face.
'Ab kya?' he said.
'Lemonade!' she cried, throwing her hands up!
'Oh..right mein kaise bhool saktha hoon!' he said, placing the plate back on the counter and pulling out two fresh lemons out of the fridge. He filled a cup with ice-cold water about 75% as Ridhima watched admiringly. He was the only guy who knew her so well, she just had to say one word and he understood, sometimes she said nothing and he knew what was in her heart. There was only one other guy who knew what to say when she was down..but he had left her life years ago! Armaan handed her the lemonade and plate and she was reached foor it and put it on the counter. She jumped of the counter and picked up a napkin and wiped his forward, being super close to him. He stared into her face as she concentrated on cleaning his face. He smiled down at her. She looked up and smiled back.
'Ridhima! Yahan aana!' Juhi's voice travelled toward them.
'Mein abhi ayi, itne mein tum mere khana ko guard karo!' said Ridhima, stepping back, admiring her work (checking to see if she had cleaned his face properly) and ruffling his hair casually and running up the stairs.
A smile spread across his face as a rumbling sound came from Armaan's stomach and he looked down at his stomach then at the sandwiche infront of him. His hand reached for it but he slapped it away with his other hand.
'Nayi Armaan..agar Ridhima ne apna sanwiche gayab dekha toh tu toh gaya!' he said to himself, but his stomach continued grumbling.
'Nayi..nayi..kuch aur kahle!' he whispered to himself.
'Kisse bathen kar raha hai beta?' asked his father, strolling into the kitchen with a newspaper under his arm. He stared at his son and his crazy habits. His latest one must be wearing frilly aprons. He just shook his had as Armaan answered his question.
'Huh...kuch nayi papa...' said Armaan, staring longingly at the sandwiche.
His father noticed and said,'Kahle, kahle!' gesturing with his hand too.
Armaan looked at his father who nodded and walked out. He looked at the sandwiche and gobbled it down.
'Hmmm..' he said, his mouth full. He felt thirsty so he drank the lemonade too.
'Armaan..' said Ridhima, entering the kitchen.
Instantaneously, Armaan's hands flew behind his back, holding the empty plate and cup.
'Mera sandwiche aur lemonade kahan hai?' she asked, looking around curiously.
'Woh..woh!' said Armaan, his mouth full. He swallowed and said,'Mujhe nayi patha!'
'Par mujhe toh patha hai!' and she walked close to him. She tried walking behind his back but he kept on turning.
'Armaan! Mujhe bhook lagi hai!' she said, stopping and looking at him with a tired expression.
'Woh Ridhima, maine..maine kah liya!' he said, smiling goofily and pulling the empty plate and cup from behind his back with a guilty expression.
'Armaan!' she said, whining.
'Ridhima..' he said, smiling.
'Ab tumhe mujhe dinner ke liye bhaar lekar jaana padega!' she said, smiling, hands on her hips.
'Kya?' said Armaan.
'Haan..tumne mera sandwich khaye aur ab tumhe mujhe bhaar lekar jaana padega!' she said, smiling. She left laughing a evil laugh. Armaan stood stunned, cursing his luck.
Evening...
'Ridhima, ab jaldi bhi karo!' said Armaan, sitting casually on the couch, spinning his car keys in one hand. He was wearing a green shirt with a black blazer and light jeans.
'Ayi Armaan!' said Ridhima. Upstairs, Ridhima was in Juhi's room.
'Juhi Di aap sure ho ki aapko mere saath nayi aana? Hum bahot maaza karenge!' said Ridhima.
'Nayi, Ridhima tum jao na!' said Juhi, getting up and smiling.
'Nayi tumhe aana padega! Arre, mein abhi ayi hoon aat (8) saal baad, chalo na!' said Ridhima.
'Fine!' said Juhi. 'Bas do minute do, mein abhi ayi!'
'Teek hai, mein neeche intezaar kar rahi hoon!' said Ridhima, waving and leaving the room. She walked downstairs in her black high heels. She was wearing a green dress that hung around her elegantly..it didn't seem that they were going to dinner but more to a dinner party. Her was pinning back from both sides.
(Here is a picture of the dress)
'Ridhima..you..you look so..so..' said Armaan.
'So what, Armaan?' asked Ridhima, smiling.
'You look so ugly!' said Armaan.
'Kya?' said Ridhima, raising her brows, eyes widening.
'Haan...and by the way..a friend of mine is coming to dinner too!' said Armaan.
'Kaun?' asked Ridhima. 'Nikhal? Please not him!'
'Oh...toh tumhare kyal hamesha Nikhil ki taraf rathe hain!' said Armaan teasingly.
'Armaan...' said Ridhima, putting out hands ready to strangle him.
'Maazak kar raha tha!' said Armaan, laughing at Ridhima's anger filled face.
Juhi came down walking in a simple black dress that was tight around her waist, wrapped with a small satin ribbon, that came to a rest just below her knees.
'Wow Juhi Di! You look so hot!' said Ridhima, smiling.
'Arre kuch toh sharam karo, tum ek ladki ko aisi tareef de rahi ho ek ladki hothe hua!' said Armaan, hiding his face behind one hand, the elbow resting in the other. 'Chee chee chee!'
'Armaan!' said Ridhima making to strangle him again.
'Arre tum dono ab toh maath jagdro!' said Juhi, pulling them apart.
'Fine!' they said. Ridhima crossed her arms and turned her back on Armaan as he took his finger and gently tickled her neck. She turned and gave a him a glare and he laughed.
'Armaan!' said Juhi.
'Okay..Di..won't happen again!' said Armaan.
The trio headed into the car. Armaan opened the passenger door for Ridhima but Ridhima walked past him and sat in the back. Armaan shrugged his shoulders and held it open for Juhi. Juhi smiled and sat down. Armaan went around and sat at the driver seat. He put the music on high...some old hindi song. Ridhima sat with her arms crossed in the back, thinking of how to get back at him for eating her sandwiche, then teasing her and calling her ugly. The car came to a stop as a huge smile lit up on her. Someone opened the door and slipped into the seat beside her. She stared into the darkness, unable to make out the face. Ridhima looked out and noticed a large house..no it was a mansion! She stared curiously at it and then looked at Armaan who had turned in his seat and was talking to the man.
'Hey man..wassup?' he said sticking his hand out.
'Nothing..'he replied shaking his hand back in a friendly, but cool manner. Ridhima stared at the man.
'Oh Ridhima this is my friend...Arjun,' said Armaan. 'Di, you know Arjun already right?' Juhi nodded at him and turned to face Arjun.
'Hey nice to see you again!' said Juhi smiling.
Ridhima was still having trouble making out the face. Who was he? For some reason she had a feeling that they would soon be related and share a dear relationship that would shatter like glass if tried. Who was he and why did she feel like this?
'Hey Ridz!' said Armaan. Ridhima shook her hand and stared at his face, barely visible in the darkness. A sliver of moonlight was shining on his face. He looked so sweet. 'Stop staring at him like that..he'll feel uncomfortable!' he replied grinning.
'I wasn't staring..I was trying to see his face!' she mumbled, quietly.
'Don't worry, I don't mind!' Arjun said, but he wasn't staring at Ridhima or Armaan when he said this but at....
