Part-II(Date-18/3/17,Time-7 a.m)
You know what happened at the Sonnet the previous night(17 th March).Now I came back home disappointed and had almost given up hope of meeting him.Then I replied to Helen's PM and checked your site again.I found a new selfie of him with a female fan.It gave me a ray of hope and I thought maybe he was still there.
The next few hours were so difficult.I couldn't eat and sleep in anxiousness.The thoughts/questions hovering my mind were-what if he had already left Kolkata,would it be possible to meet him without an appointment next day,would I have to wait indefinitely for him to come down and what if he checked out that night or early next morning.
I checked the Calcutta airport flight schedule and found out there was no flight to Mumbai till 6.25 a.m.The next one was at 9.10 a.m.I sighed with relief even though I knew he could go anywhere and decided that I would take the first bus at around 5.20 in the morning.But then everything was so uncertain.😕
Before leaving home the next day told mum that I might have to wait the whole day outside the hotel.She got tired after chasing Kunal with me the previous evening.😆I asked her to take some rest and join me later.I reached the Sonnet at 7 a.m and before going in checked if the hotel had other exit doors besides the main entrance.I didn't want to take any chances.
I was apprehensive about entering without an appointment and that too so early in the morning.In case he had left Kolkata the authority wouldn't disclose it.My plan was to wait then and when convinced would return home.
I saw there was only one attendant in the reception hall.I told him that I wanted to meet Mr.Kunal Karan Kapoor.He replied normally that he would come down after sometime and asked me to sit on the sofa.I was stunned and couldn't believe my luck.😲Suddenly he asked if I had appointment and I got scared.I said that I didn't have appointment and I had come from a distant place that too twice.He asked from where and was satisfied with my answer.
While waiting I saw guests coming down to have breakfast in the adjacent restaurant.So thought Kunal would do the same.
Spent sometime reading the newspaper as the tension was too much to bear.Called mum and asked her not to come as she would not be able to reach on time.I was angry at myself for going there empty-handed.Should have made something for him and gone there with flowers,cards,chocolates.
At around 8 a.m I saw someone standing(with his back facing me) at the reception counter and talking to the receptionist.Familiar figure,known attire,blue-black checkered shoulder bag kept on the floor and long wavy wet hair-our rockstar KUNAL KARAN KAPOOR.I couldn't believe my eyes and in excitement got up from sofa.
The next 3-4 mins he stood there as attendants were busy completing the formalities.But I had no idea that he was checking out.He was getting impatient and within such short span atleast 3 times turned around to look at the hall,outside.My eyes were set on him but I could feel he noticed me.
Went into some other world.I should have tried to go near the reception counter to talk to him but stood there like a statue for 3-4 mins.I was so nervous that even forgot to call him.
Finally he picked up his bag,turned around and started walking towards the main door.I forgot that I had gone there to meet him and so called out-SIR'...at first he couldn't hear me but when I shouted again he was like oh no!not now.I asked for 2 mins.Then with a big smile on his face he said that he had a flight to catch.My world came crashing down and I could see the opportunity slipping away from me.
But being a kind-hearted gentleman he couldn't disappoint his fan and stopped.I told him that I had come from far away and requested him to atleast give me an autograph and if possible a picture.He agreed and kept his bag on sofa.He enquired if I had a selfie mobile and I said that I would like to click pictures using my digital camera.I hurriedly took out a pad and a pen from my bag and handed them over to him.In the mean time the person accompanying him took my camera.Kunal asked my name but my actual name is big so before he could write I said-write Neeva instead.
The pad had ICICI logo so he asked who work for them.I said my father.Now before I could say how big a fan I am the attendant started clicking picture and within seconds Kunal left the hotel.He was already late and so in a hurry boarded the taxi standing at the gate.I needed a few seconds to gather myself together.I was surprised to find three pictures in my camera.So thanked the person who clicked more pictures without our knowledge and left the hotel feeling on top of the world.
It was an unplanned,awkward and badly-timed meeting.Couldn't talk to him properly.Though I regret meeting him when he was leaving for airport I consider myself lucky.Don't know why but I feel confident about meeting him again and then I will talk to him about his acting,work at length.
Some imp. Points-
He is so good-looking and so fair with flawless,bright,glowing skin.He is almost of the same height as of me.Kunal has got the boyish charm and doesn't look like 34 year old man at all.We shouldn't bother about his age as I think he will look the same even at 40.😳He is calm,composed,talks very little and gives others a patient hearing.
Kunal is unique.He was in a hurry still the writing pad's logo caught his attention which others tend to overlook.His power of observation makes him an ace photographer.He values,respects his fans and certainly thinks about them.No other celebrity would have bothered to oblige at that moment.The way the hotel staff were behaving with him it seemed he developed a good rapport with them.As Ritabhari maam says he is the sweetest.😃
18 th March-the most memorable day of my life.I enjoyed every second of the interaction and will cherish it in my memory forever.My most prized possession is his autograph and pictures.😊
