We have to thank Kangana Ranaut for it, who held a mirror to Karan Johar on Koffee With Karan.

^^

The moment the writer wrote this, she lost me. But about the privileges these female stars enjoy whilst sleeping with a myriad of directors and producers? Jacqueline is so shitty yet she gets to do a project with KJO's and Sallu's backing. Hmpff!

This is a cut throat industry, and you know the level of difficulty.

Audience havent been any biased. Star kids face failures too. And i dont think SSR really slogged it. He had many big directors signing him up. And his film's failure didnt deter his opportunities. It always about networking and finding the right connections. Just like SRK did, besides his talent ofcourse.

But journalists always try to guilt trip them as if its a mistake of theirs to be born into a rich/filmi family. Ohh pls.

An outsider has the struggle of getting the right project, but an insider would have to consistently prove that they are good, otherwise, their films are also tossed aside. Yeah u can try to produce tens and thousands of films but if u arent cut for it, u arent. Just like AB jr.

True if you talentless male you are out. But if you are female being a flowerpot works like Jackie and Kat.

Well written article but I don't understand why people expect star kids to be humble and admit their privilege.😕

Sure... I somewhat get the outrage at their blatant denial of it but why expect them to own up to it? Why will they kick the very system that has given them so many opportunities in their career? Wouldn't that make them very ungrateful?😆

If they own up to it, they will end up offending people like KJo/their family members/relatives and potentially endanger their relationship(s) with these people. This could have a negative impact on their career. And if they don't own up to it, they end up offending the audience and outsiders/strugglers. Audience usually are quick to forgive & forget & outsiders don't have much influence by default. So they choose the latter option cuz it is safer.

And I find this okay cuz I don't expect normal people to be altruistic to the point of self-destruction.😆

Most people who are born in a privileged position WILL take advantage of it rather than actively trying to resist it. It is very easy to pass judgments on others when you are not in the same boat as them...

But just think for a minute, these people have grown up around this environment and all these people that actively promote & partake in nepotism. It will take a HELL lot of courage to one day just suddenly REJECT the status quo. Especially when they have benefited so much from it, why would they?

😆Sonam Kapoor keeps telling the world that she never took money from her dad, worked as a waitress yada yada but nobody listens to her. At least Sonam has screen presence. I like to watch her on screen. Her brother on the other hand is a product of nepotism. He's worse than The Udays and Abhisheks of Bollywood. He'll get many author backed films and finally people will appreciate him like Abhishek's Yuva and Guru.

This response is GOLD

way to shut her mouth

and knowing her lack of wit and how inarticulate she is..she will really struggle to come back with a response if she indeed does..

Colossal: Eh no, there are Ivs that Sonam has given where she has stated how RS was just a cousin who she didn't grow up with a la Arjun, but someone she met a few times a year at her birthdays & Arjun's etc, he never hung out with them etc. Very obvious what she means by saying all this lol. Yep. Now they do act like they're all in love with him. Such is Success.
