"I'm trying to say the Sea ..." His toes curled, firmly rooting into slipping sand. "...that I won't let him have you."

"Uh huh?" she quirked a teasing brow. "How long can you hold me this way?"

"As long as I've feet."

"Very heroic!!" Chuckling, she ruffled his hair but slowly her smiles waned. "What if the sea got angry with my denial and sends a gigantic wave for me?"

"Then..." He answered without second thought. "... it gets both of us."

She smiled again... a heart filled smile and stepped out of his holding. Her smiles turning mysterious, she folded arms on her back and began retreating. "And you think I'll let you do so." She cheerfully nodded in no, pointing a finger to something behind her. "Its for me... only for me. I'll not let it have you."

Mystified, he walked ahead to get hold of his girl and when he realized he was going nowhere, he looked down startled - the pit of sand engulfed HIS FEET.
