Rishabh, Neel along with Geet were talking to Sushant but very soon they understood what Geet was fearful of was turning out to be true. But to give the youngman, Sushant benefit of doubt and respect to Sid's choice Rishabh and Neel gave Geet and Sushant privacy to talk. The moment Rishabh, Neel and Sid left the room Sushant got into form and asked,"Ms. Rajsinghania, have you read Shakespear's "Merchant of Venice"?" Geet nodded yes.
"Do you know that SP of the story keeps me so engrossed."
"SP?"
"Sub plot! Shakespear was a genius regarding CA of each and every character."
"CA meaning Chartered Accountant?"
"No my dear not Chartered Accountant, but Character Analysis!"
"Oh!"
"Merchant of Venice's PT is even more intriguing!"
"PT?"
"Pattern and Tone. Once we are married, I'll make you understand all these terms."
Hearing the word "married", Geet broke down and ran to her room. Yash and Arnav who had just returned were shocked and displeased seeing Geet sitting alone with a strange man. Before they could question stranger, they found Geet running to her room making both Yash and Arnav furious. Before both brothers' hands could come near the youngman and strangulate his neck, Rishabh came and introduced Yash and Arnav to Sushant.
Location: GEET's ROOM, RAJSINGHANIA'S PENTHOUSE, MALABAR HILL
Geet was perturbed with Sushant's uttering of word "married". Maan's callous act in his fit of anger and possessiveness had destroyed all dreams of a young girl. Each and every girl no matter to which country, culture or community she belongs to, has dreams and wishes of what all she would like on her wedding day and what all she would like to wear, how she would like to dress up when she becomes a bride. But Maan Singh Khurana ruined everything!Not only her dreams and wishes; her parents reputation also in front of the society; he has made her like a "Trishanku" (Hindu Mythological star) star who has no direction and is just hanging between heaven and earth, so is she. Is she married or unmarried? Should she tell this big truth of her life to her brothers or not? The brothers who love her so much that they don't go any where without seeing her face. Brothers who in real ernest are trying to find a suitable match for her for marital purposes. How will she tell them that one arrogant, callous, possessive, insecure and selfish person took away that right from her and Rajsinghania family. Geet remembers two weeks back...
TWO WEEKS BACK
Geet after having heated arguement with Mr. Maan Singh Khurana left the Green Room only to be swept off her feet in strong and muscular arms of Mr. Khurana.
Before she could scream for help, Mr. Khurana fused his lips with hers making it impossible for any voice to come out of her lips! Then Maan Singh Khurana put Geet down in the main sanctum of the temple but refused to let her go by clamping her close to his body with his muscular arm.
Before Geet could register and voice out her disagreement her parting was filled with "sindoor"
(vermilion)
and her neck adorned with "mangalsutra" (necklace
made of black beads for long life of a woman's husband and for a woman, symbol of her marital status).
She was still in a state of trance till the priest blessed her with "SADA SUHAAGAN RAHO!" Making Geet realise that what had happened in reality! Before she could demand answer from THAT Maan Singh Khurana, his Dadimaa gave him a tight slap. If Geet was in her right senses she would have requested Dadimaa to give that arrogant Maan Singh Khurana two slaps from her side as well for his this callous and demeaning act.
Radharani at once came and covered Geet's head properly and said, "Maan beta, aap aur Geet abb Maaji aur Bhaisaheb kaa aashirwaad lijiye!" (Maan and Geet come and take blessings from your grandmother and father.)
"Nahi Radha. HUM ISKO SHAADI NAHI MAANTE! Yeh shaadi nahi ek ziddi bacche ne apni zidd poori ki hai. Maan ke mann mei sirf zidd thee ki woh Geet ko kissi aur ki hone nahi degaa. Magar Geet par yeh zulm karke usne apni bahaduri (Bravery) nahi balki kaaryarta (cowardice) dekhayi hai!" (No Radha! I DONT CONSIDER THIS AS A MARRIAGE! Its not a marriage but a spoilt child's tantrum! Maan in his ego and stubborness of claiming Geet as his forgot all his decency. But by committing this crime against Geet he has not shown his bravery but his cowardice!)
"Yeh aap kya keh rahi hain Maaji?" (What are you saying Maaji?)
"Kyun Radha? Kya Krishankant aur tumne Geet kaa "Kanyadaan"(giving away the bride!) kiya hai?" (I'm right Radha. Have Krishankant and you done Geet's "Kanyadaan"?) Both Krishankant and Radharani nodded in negative. "Aur kya Geet aur Maan ke "phere" (Going around the fire 7 times) hue hain?"(Have Geet and Maan gone around the fire 7 times?) Again Krishankant and Radharani nodded in negative. "Toh phir Maan aur Geet ki shaadi kaise hui hai?" (Then how can you say Maan and Geet are married?)
"Magar maaji, Maan ne Geet ki maang bhari hai aur usse mangalsutra bhi pehnaya hai."(But Maaji, Maan has filled Geet's parting with "sindoor" (vermilion) and has made her wear "mangalsutra" in her neck.)
"Phir bhi yeh shaadi poori nahi hai jab tak phere nahi hote!" (Even then the marriage is not complete.)
"DADIMAA, GEET ABB MERI PATNI HAI! MAI USSE KISSI AUR KAA NAHI HONE DOONGA!" (Dadimaa, Geet is NOW MY WIFE, and I will not let be anyone else's!) Maan thundered.
"BASS KARIYE MAAN, APNA BACHPANA CHODHIYE! Agar aap Geet ko sacchi apna banna chahte hain toh pehle uske laayak banniye." (ENOUGH MAAN! STOP BEHAVING LIKE A SPOILT CHILD. If you truly want Geet to be yours, then make yourself befitting for her.)
"Matlab?" (Meaning?)
"Matlab yeh ki aapko pehle Geet ke bhaiyon ka dil aur vishwas jeetana hoga!" (I mean you have to first win Geet's brother's heart and their trust.) Savitri Devi looked at Krishankant and said, "Beta, Geet abhi bhi ek "kanya" hai. Hum aap dono se haat jodhkar maafi maangte hain jo durachaar (misconduct) humare pote ne kiya hai uske liye. Aap dono Geet ke maata-pita hain aur jahaan chahe uski shaadi karaa dijiye." (Son, Geet is still an unmarried girl. I apologise to both of you with folded hands for my grandson's misconduct. You both are her parents, please get her married to a boy of your choice.) Savitri Devi said ignoring a fuming Maan. She then thought and said, "Kya hum kuch samay Geet se akele mein baat kar sakte hain?" (Can I please talk to Geet alone?) Krishankant and Radharani nodded in affirmative.
Location: A room in ISCKON Temple premises
Once Savitri Devi and Geet were alone, Savitri Devi said, "Geet beta, aap ke mann mein apne sacche jeevan saathi ki kaisi chhavi hai battaiye?" (Geet dear, tell me what kind of image of a life partner is in your mind?)
"Jeevan saathi ki chhavi?" (Image of a life partner?)
"Haan beta. Har ladki ki apne Jeevan saathi ke baare mein, apni shaadi ke baare mein aur sajne-savarne ko lekar kuch icchaiyen aur bhaavanaiyen hoti hain. Aap ki kya bhaavanaiyen hain?" (Yes my child. Every girl wishes that some qualities are present in her life partner. Each girl has a dream of how her wedding should be? What she would like to wear on her wedding day?) Savitri Devi said, "Beta, aap jhijhakiye matt, jo aapke dil mein hai keh dijiye." (Don't hesistate my dear tell me truthfully what your heart desires?)
Geet hugged Savitri Devi and cried her heart out.
Finally when she calmed down after Savitri Devi's soothing words and Savitri Devi's rubbing her back, Geet said hiccuping, "Dadimaa...aap...sirf aur sirf aap hi ek aisi janni hain jinhone meri bhaavnaon ki parwah ki hai. Naa toh Bauji ne, naa humare bhai-saon ne aur naa hi meri apni Maa ne meri icchaayen aur marzi jaana chaha hai. Sab ne kewal apna aadesh sunna diya hai jaise ki mai koi kamre mein rakhi mezz, kursi yaa table lamp hoon." (Dadimaa...you ...and only you have asked me what my heart desires. Neither my father, or my brothers or even my own mother has asked me this question. Everyone has just told me their decision like I'm a piece of furniture i.e. Table, chair, table lamp etc. in my room.)
"Nahi beta woh sab aapse bahut pyaar karte hain aur unko aapki khushi yaa dukh se farq padhta hai." (NO my child they all love you dearly! They are very aware about your wishes, likes and dislikes.)
"Mai jaanti hoon Dadimaa ki woh sab mujhse bahut pyaar karte hain, magar humari marzi aur bhavnaiye jo...." (I know Dadimaa that they all love me dearly but what about my wishes, emotions and approval?)
"Accha yeh sab chodhiye aur battaiye ki aap ke mann mein apne sacche jeevan saathi ki chhavi kya hai?" (Alright, forget all this and tell me what image of a life partner you have in your mind?) Savitri Devi interrupted before Geet would go into depression and disappointment. "Battaiye naa!" (Tell me !)
"Mere mann mein mere jeevan saathi ki chhavi yeh hai ki woh Geet se bahut pyaar karen. Iss liye nahi ki Geet, Rajsinghania parivaar se hai magar iss liye ki woh Geet se aur sirf Geet se pyaar karen, Geet ko uski acchaiyaan aur buraiyon ke saath apanaye. Woh bahut bahadur aur taqatwar (Brave and strong) ho. Waqt aane par naa toh sirf sharirik roop se magar maansik roop se bhi meri zindagi ke khatron se aur samaaj ke rurdhiwaadon (society's baseless idiosyncracies) se raksha karen. Hum dono jeevan ke raha par saath chalen ek sacche humsafar ki tehara. Jo kamiyaan mujh mein ho woh poori karen aur jo kamiyaan unn mein ho mai poori karoon. Unn mein ek sense of humour ho, kyunki humare ghar parivaar mein humesha hasi-mazaak chalta rehta hai. Agar unn mein sense of humour nahi hua yaa kam hua toh woh hasi-mazaak ki baatein unhein chubh sakti hain. Aakhiri magar sabse zaruri hi woh imaandaar aur dil ke saaf ho!" (I want a life partner who loves me immensely. He loves me not because I belong to the Rajsinghania family but he loves me for myself i.e. with all my strengths and weaknesses. My life partner should brave and strong. So in time of need he can protect me physically and mentally against perils of life and society's baseless idiosyncracies. We both should walk the path of our life as true companions i.e. What are my weakness he complements those and what are his weaknesses I complement. He should have a good sense of humour . As in my family there is lot of jokes cracking and leg pulling of one another. If doesn't have a great sense of humour, he will feel extremely hurt. Last but not least, he should be honest and straight foward in his approach and talking.) Geet concluded.
"Hum bhagwan se prathana karenge ki aapko aapka manpasand jeevan saathi jald se jald mil jaaye. Geeta beta, hum aap se maafi maangte hain ki humare Maan ke durachaar (misconduct) ke kaaran jo aapke dil ko thees lagi."(I will pray to God that you get a life mate of your choice as soon as possible! Geet I also humbly apologise for my grandson, Maan's misconduct towards you.)
"Yeh aap kya keh rahi hain Dadimaa?" (What are you saying Dadimaa.)
"Nahi beta, hum aaj ek Maa ke roop mein haar gaye. Jab humari bahu, Sumitra ka dehaanth hua thaa tab Maan sirf solah (16) saal ke the aur Vicky sirf barah (12) saal kaa thaa. Dono bahut nazuk umar mein the. Maan ek kishore se purush banne ki awastha mein the; aur Vicky ek bacche se kishore banne ki awastha mein. Ranjit toh Sumitra ke jaane ke baad ek dam se bikhar se gaye the. Khurana Industries jo unka sapna thaa usmein bhi unka mann nahi lagta thaa. Din bhar Sumitra ki yaadon mein khoye rehte the. Unka mann sirf aur sirf "mridangam" bajaane mein lagta thaa. Iss liye humne Ranjit ko Khurana Institute of Performing Arts (KIPA) kholne ki salah di. Aur uske kholte hi Ranjit mein mano jaan aa gayi ho. Ranjit kaa KIPA mein busy rehne se Khurana Industries ko koi sambhalne wala nahi thaa toh humein kaam sambhalna pada. Poore din KC mein rehte hue Maan aur Vicky ke saath samay beitaane ke liye bahut kam time thaa. Iss liye humne Maan ko apne saath KC le jaana shuru kiya. KC mein roz school ke baad aane se Maan ke bigadne ke mauka toh kam ho gaye magar uska bachpan kho gaya. Iss liye jab kabhi bhi Maan kuch chahta usse mil jaata jiss kaaran woh bahut "ziddi" (stubborn) aur khudgarz (selfish) ho gaya hai. Abhi tak uski zidd aur khudgarzpane se kissi ko bhi taqleef nahi hui hai siwaye aaj ke. Beta hum Maan ke durachaar ki safai nahi de rahe magar bass apke saath apna dil halka karna chah rahe the. Aaj barson baad humein koi mila hai jisse hum apna dard keh saken." (No my child, I have failed as a mother. When my daughter-in-law, Sumitra left this world, Maan was only 16 years old and Vicky only 12 years old. Both were at very delicate stage of their lives! Maan was in last leg of adolescence approaching adulthood. Vicky was nearing his puberty on the way to adolescence! Ranjit was totally broken after Sumitra's demise. He would now not even enter Khurana Industries which was his passion so far. Whole day he would be immersed in Sumitra's memories and was only interested in playing "mridangam". Hence, I suggested to Ranjit to open Khurana Institute of Performing Arts (KIPA). As soon as KIPA opened, it seemed Ranjit got a new life. By Ranjit's remaining busy at KIPA, Khurana Industries running and management came on my shoulders. As I was spending the whole day in KC, I did not have much time to spend with Maan and Vicky. Hence, I instructed Maan to join me in KC after school. Although by coming to KC after school, Maan did not get into bad habits but his innocence and childhood was lost. Therefore, whenever Maan asked for anything, he was immediately oblidged thereby making him extremely stubborn and selfish! However so far, never has his stubborness and selfishness hurt anyone till today. My child I'm not giving excuse for Maan's selfish and callous behaviour but just lightening my heart. Today after years I'm able to talk to someone about my feelings and my pain.) Savitri Devi said breaking down.
"Dadimaa, aap pareshaan matt hue, aap toh bahut hi sahasi hain. Aap ne Sumitra aunty ke jaane ke baad sab kuch itni acchi tehara sambhala. Aaj se aap meri role model hain. Yaani meri "Super Dadi"!" (No Dadimaa you are very brave. After demise of Sumitra aunty you have handled single handedly everything so well. You have become my role model today. My "Super Dadi"!) Geet said rubbing Savitri Devi's back and trying to calm her.
"Nahi beta, samay sab sekha deta hai. Hum bass aap se ek baat kahenge ki aaj jo kuch bhi hua hai usse aap bhool jaayiye. Kyunki yeh shaadi ke naam par ek naatak thaa yaa yunh kahiye ki ek bigade bacche ke zidd thee. Hum umeed karte hain ki aapko zarur aapka manpasand jeevan saathi milega. Jo bhi ladka aap ke bhai aapko dekhayen usse khule mann se dekhiye aur phir chunniye. Aapke bhai aapko bahut pyaar karte hain, woh aapke liye accha hi sochenge. Accha abb hum chalte hain." (No my child, life teaches you everything. I will only give you one advice to forget everything that happened today. Because this was not a marriage but a facade in name of marriage. Or you can consider it a tantrum thrown by a spoilt child. I hope that you get your desired life partner. Now whichever boys your brothers show you, please meet them and think carefully and then decide who will make best life partner for you. Your brothers love you a lot and will think and do best for you. Come now let's leave.) Savitri Devi and Geet got up and left the room unaware that someone had heard their private conversation.
