Okay, so, I'm being dead honest here and saying that your writing inspires me to write. I love that you can express so much, so effortlessly.
This is the first chapter, but somehow, I felt Priyanka here more than I have ever on the show. I've said this before (on a different thread, I don't remember which one) but I have clinically diagnosed anxiety, and I know that some of the closest people to me have either anxiety or social anxiety.
I really hoped that Priyanka as a character would elicit, if not awareness, some sort of homecoming from the mental health community. However, on the show, they've completely sidelined her anxiety to be a stutter, and while that may be true in some cases, I wish that they could express anxiety better.
Thus, I've never really related to her as a character, and essentially, only cared for Ranveer in PriVeer.
That is, until today, because you've made me love Prinku. She could have so many shades to her; the anxiety-ridden young woman, the neglected daughter and sister, TejVi's eventually business-minded daughter, but the issue is, these facets of her personality are just never explored.
I love how the different straits of her guilt eventually form together - the bloodied woman, with Annika's face was brilliant imagery, and I got goosebumps. One of the other bones I have to pick with the show is the lack of resentment towards Shivaay, on Annika's part. Yes, him saying sorry was sweet and their cutesy fights never fail to make me smile, but, no, that's not enough for me. It further annoys me, because as much as I love AniOmRu, (more than anything ❤️), wasn't Priyanka best friends with Annika? We practically never see any interaction between them , and I understand that fitting in these relationships with smaller dynamics can be difficult on an ensemble cast show, but I genuinely think that it wouldn't be too difficult to show Priyanka's reaction to what happened to Annika, at one point or another.
If I was in Priyanka's position, I would possibly blame myself for Annika's fate, because I was the one who brought her into the Oberoi life, even if I knew that in the end, it wasn't really my fault.
I love that in your story, Prinku actually feels guilty, so thank you for that.
On the other hand, Ranveer Singh Randhawa never fails to make me happy!
You were so apt with the way you characterised his presence at the party. He's intimdating, in a mysterious sort of way, and as his appearance tells, he's internally brooding. I like his resentment towards the Oberoi's, and how he thinks that his attending the party essentially proves a defeat, not in his favour. The fact that he wants to talk to Annika is extremely interesting; I'm glad that that earlier connection was still referred to. I have this really intense image of the aftermath of the PriVeer marriage, and I can totally see Annika and Saumya accepting it very early on, and convincing their livid husbands to agree to it as well.
I liked that we saw the morally righteous side of Ranveer instead of the borderline stalkerish man that they are making him on the show. The misunderstanding was so cute, and the fact that the camera flash was so subtly incorporated into the end, makes warning bells sound in my head!
Can't wait to your next update, this one was absolutely brilliant!
